@hughski0000 there r probably thousands of handicap drivers around in the world. they may not be able to walk but they have full hand functions (e.g spinal cord injury). the vehicle can be modified to have the accelerator and brake controlled by hands.

@c12croft well yes, my uncle is severely disabled, yet he has a very good job, he bought something like this for himself, and the improved quality of life it has given him is amazing, I don't think their main target market is insurance companies.

@Mushr00mification They have no target market, they have no wheelchair and hardly any company! It's all just ideas and cartoons. I've been seeing this video for 2.5 years and they have no wheelchair nor they plan to build any. Right now Viking 4x4 chair can climb most stairs or hills at under $10k and it's made in China. Galileo is in Is.rael and j.ews won't invest a dime unless they make 1000% profit!

The karman xo 202 is a one of the closest things to Galileo chair when it comes to the durability and versatility, although it doesnt climb stairs you dont need a second mortgage to buy it

Yeah you'll need a second mortgage to get this or that walking robot legs dealy, but the point is that this technology has been invented & can be mass-produced, which hopefully means the price will slowly drop as it becomes less rare. My first laptop was £1400 and an antiquated heap of crap compared to the one I got 8 years later for £400.

You don't see people going around in ibot powerchairs often do you? So how often do you think you will see anyone going around in one of these powerchairs? You may have to be a veteran to get one, and most veterans I know who use wheelchair don't even have an ibot.

@HaxaAccet Then 1 man stands below it, you put it in neutral and slowly let it down. But before trying stairs one should make sure the battery is full. Also these stair-climbing chairs have much higher torque than average chairs & even 1 motor can lift 350 pounds up.

@civicguy Naaaaa, if IBOT couldn't sell at $24k then at $21K Galileo won't even try what IBOT started. Plus now a much more advanced Exoskeleton is under production that can make paralized people walk and climb stairs. Check Berkeleybionics. If they finish this chair it'll probably be around $18k-$20k. Ofcourse still not many will buy it unless it's $10k or below.

They build them, they ask for $15000-$29000 for one. Medicare won't pay for more than $5000-6000 so no one can buy them unless they're very rich. They should mass produce the best of them by government and give to those who qualify and save on the side by avoiding medicare fraud by suppliers.
