I agree with everyone saying it's just another thing kids do. When me and my friends were in our pre-teen's the park was our haven we never went with adults either. As long as we were back to check in every now and then they didn't care. We climbed tree's, went in the ditch, jumped off swings.

I leave two days and when I get back my BFF's little sister had fallen off a swing and broke her arm.

This mother is an incompetent fool, should not have custody of these children. I'd have unleashed social services on her sorry ass and had the nearest family court judge order the children seized and she lose custody, FOREVER. She failed to provide FULL SUPERVISION which is indefensible. She cannot be forgiven or pardoned of her crimes. She should also been thrown in jail.

You are overreacting. I was left unattended as a child many times and never got into such trouble. In case you do not know this is called an ACCIDENT. I have worked as a trauma nurse in ER for many years and there have been a small handful of cases where I contacted social services. The last I remembered Social Services are contacted for physical, sexual abuse and EXTREME negligence. There are kids who play unattended where I live and not once there has been an accident.

I seen nothing that the mom did wrong. hell when i was a child my mom would be at work, my dad would be in the house watching tv & my older sister would be at her friends house. while im in the front yard climbing the elm tree & i would go to the very top & play now are u going to say that my parents were being negligent & that i should have been taken away & them sent to jail?

My kitten climbed a tree to the tippy-top, then sat up there meowing & meowing.

I had to climb all the way up there and get her, and she kept sticking her claws into me while I was coming down w/ her.

Kitten claws feel sharper than adult cat nails.

I would have climbed up after her myself, but then I was just like her. I climbed every tree, the clothesline T's, the rabbit hutches, and my dad nailed the screens on our upstairs windows bc I was caught on the roof when I was 5. Incedentally, they STILL can't keep me off the roof, but now I'm a storm spotter and I get the best views from the roof. (there's trees higher so no fear of lightning--just for you who freak out about that kind of thing)

They used to laugh about it.

@OneSkiWonder Actually, I prefer climbing trees over bringing construction workers down from buildings in a reeves or basket stretcher.

I never used to be afraid of heights. I'm not sure but I think it happened shortly after having to bring the construction worker down two stories.

My partner that day was Paul, and he made me go backward while he went forward.
