GT's have an Optional 3.55:1 Ratio rear, and the block on a Terminator Cobra is Actually Aluminum with Cast Iron Cylinder Liners if memory recalls they're 4 millimeters thick.
Also a Mach 1 Has Forged Internals on the Manual Gearbox Versions and the Automatics have Cast Internals, Plus the Redline is Bumped down on the Auto Versions by 500 RPM (might be 250 been a while since I last looked)... What can I say? I love my Mustangs!
03-04 cobras have iron blocks, manual machs have forged cranks only, manuals have no forged internals and the redline is lowered 1k RPM. 05+ GTs do have a 3.55 gear option.

Actually, the terminator block is in fact iron, while the 5speed Mach 1's only have a forged crank, not an all forged rotating assembly like the terminators, and still has same hypereutectic pistons etc, as the auto Machs. The auto Machs have a cast crank and redline is 5800, as opposed to 5spd's Mach's 6800.

(beaks1993) Both cars are good a s daily drivers for around town purposes. The Cobra has a better suspendion and IRS so in my opinion you get a better smoother ride in the Cobra that handles better. The stock 390HP is reallt that much to handle as a daily driver. My car has 450HP and its my daily driver. You just have to learn to keep your foot out of the gas...lol. I also had a 93 Cobra with over 500HP and that car was a pain to drive as a daily driver. Always had to adjust the timing
I will say even with the bad motor it ran high 8's in the 1/8th mile bone stock. Also I forgot to mention the 5 speed Mach 1 had a forged crank and the auto didnt. I hope this clears some things up.
Yes both cars are strong cars...To be more precise the Mach 1 has 3:55 gears, subframe connectors, Lincoln Naviagitor Cams(dont know if thats 100 percent true),and the 03 Cobra heads. I had an 03 Mach 1 and I had nothing but problems with the motor but I also had 3 other stangs before that. I actually had a law suite against Ford because the heads were bad in the Mach 1. They had to tear apart my whole motor and it only had 3500 miles on it.
Depends on what year Cobra you talking about, beaks. 03-04 is the best one ever made, JMO. On the other hand 99-01 had a pretty weak block that was known for it's broken connecting rods when nitrous'ed or blown

i'm not 100% certain but a do believe the 03-04 cobras have manley hbeam rods, forged pistons, etc...that the 99-01s don't have. all cobras have the forged crank from the factory. personally i think the 96-98 are the best n/a cobras made. not quite as powerful (only like a 15 hp difference) but it has the solid axel from the factory and much better looks IMO...not to mention it has the teksid block...I had a 97 and loved it

Both cars DO NOT have the same exact motor in them. Do some research before you say that. The only thing they have in common are they are both 32V 4.6L motors.
well stated don't forget the fuckin super charger in the cobra! lol if that is an SVT cobra the mach1 has ALMOST everything a cobra has except the S/C the suspension and a few others both really strong competitors in the muscle car line up
Looking at that video the Cobra in the right lane is basically the same as the Mach 1. There are differences like the heads 98 Cobra=B heads and 04 Mach 1=C Heads and the Mach also has a forged crank in 5 speeds. Cobras didn't have S/C til the 03/04 Cobras otherwise known as Terminators. All in all, same motor 4V 4.6L V8 just with the differnces noted in the previous statement.

its a 94-95 cobra mainly because of the tailights. i have the same car but only its a 95 mustang 5.0 GT. the cobra of these years came out with the 5.0 also but the intake manifold was slightly bigger producing 235 hp.

mach 1's had (03-04)32 value's cobra's(03-04s.. had 16values supercharged... mach 1 supercharged.. 32values.. your going to the moon and eating whatever is in ur way
2003 & 2004 Cobras Have 32 valve Engines, Not 16. Automatic Versions came with Cast Cranks and Rods while Manual Transmission Versions came with Forged Internals.
Mach 1's and Cobra's both have 32 Valves. Mach 1's weren't supercharged. Cobra's are supercharged. Mach 1 comes in manual and automatic. Cobra only comes in manual.
If you really want to set it all straight then watch the video again. 96 to 99 Cobra 4V 4.6 Solid axle running 320 N/A hp through a T5 5 speed weighing in at a published 3480. only 03&04 SVT's were S/C w/IRS. In the other corner we have a 03 to 04 Mach1 4v 281 that puts out 305 hp through a TR-3650 5spd.The Mach weighing in at 3470. seems like a real close race to me a pulley swap and a cai would put the mach at 320. great race set up poor camera and track cond.
sorry to busty your bubble pal but the 99 and 01 cobras have IRS and 320 hp the 99 cobras had a t45 tranny but im not sure what was in the 01 but the 96 through 98 had the solid axle and they were rated around 305 hp
96-98 cobra and the 99+01+03-04 were two different bodystyles. The 96-98 was 305 HP with a t-45 transmission. The 99+01 was 320 with tumble port heads, and a redisigned intake and exhaust. The mach 1 is a little moe than the cobra because its the same motor (minus the aluminun block) but with a little more HP from the shaker. T-5's were the tranny's in the 302 mustangs. The t-45 was used from 96-midway 01 when they switched to the TR-3650.
depending on when it was produced. if it was released as an 01 but made in 00 and if it was actually made in 01 they may have different trannies. Just like the water pump change during 2001.

if you read what i say you wouldnt look like a moron. Defending the fact that there the same BLOCK i am right. Same Engine, essentially, yes, to the average consumer. To someone who wrenches on cars everyday, like myself, no. I assume, MOST of the people on here dont know shit, so i dont go to far in depth, obviously the internals are different as well as compression mainly for the boost, but try explaing it to someone who knows nothing about cars, or engines.

its even funnier that you basicly have no life and actually spent the time to go back and read every post i made in here, you should go out and wrench on a car and tear an engine apart, thats 1/4 the battle, try putting it back together, not easy. Degree a cam, adjust lash on the rockers, timing (which NO you dont do on the cobra, unless you pull the timing chain).. so have fun, i dont give two FUCKS what you think, i know my shit and thats all i need to know. =]

Both cars DO NOT have the same exact motor in them. Do some research before you say that. The only thing they have in common are they are both 32V 4.6L motors.

Looking at that video the Cobra in the right lane is basically the same as the Mach 1. There are differences like the heads 98 Cobra=B heads and 04 Mach 1=C Heads and the Mach also has a forged crank in 5 speeds. Cobras didn't have S/C til the 03/04 Cobras otherwise known as Terminators. All in all, same motor 4V 4.6L V8 just with the differnces noted in the previous statement.

Even though the Cobras are supercharged, I hear the Mach 1 actually has more torque and takes off just slightly faster... except mabye for the 2000 Cobra-R with it's 5.4 liter supercharged V8, and of course the new GT500s! And the new SUpersnake has like fucking 750hp! Ridiculous!!!

The Mach is a little lighter and has a more drag race friendly suspension than the Cobras.

well i didnt know about the 2v and 4v difference so thanks but yeah even the newest crown vic is rated at like 224hp with the 4.6 and the interceptor i have heard is about 250-260hp but not sure so dont quote me. my dad's dept has a charger r/t now and my dad says it scares him how quick it is. i dont have the heart to tell him my 96 trans am i had was quicker...less hp but quicker lol. they get a new car every 2-3 yrs. he said charger is quickest, 2nd was the 96 caprice LT1 they had.

theres about 1 or 2 cars specifically for catching street racers, theres an undercover camaro, the old ones like the 90s model, and then there a new challenger i think, but theyre both beasts, and cop cars are severe charged and they have heavy duty batteries, weight reduction, super sticky tires, and a reinforced frame which means, they will catch ur riced car, alloy, and throw it in the crusher where it belongs

its a 94-95 cobra mainly because of the tailights. i have the same car but only its a 95 mustang 5.0 GT. the cobra of these years came out with the 5.0 also but the intake manifold was slightly bigger producing 235 hp.

2003 & 2004 Cobras Have 32 valve Engines, Not 16. Automatic Versions came with Cast Cranks and Rods while Manual Transmission Versions came with Forged Internals.

Let's set this straight:
Mach 1's and Cobra's both have 32 Valves. Mach 1's weren't supercharged. Cobra's are supercharged. Mach 1 comes in manual and automatic. Cobra only comes in manual.

If you really want to set it all straight then watch the video again. 96 to 99 Cobra 4V 4.6 Solid axle running 320 N/A hp through a T5 5 speed weighing in at a published 3480. only 03&04 SVT's were S/C w/IRS. In the other corner we have a 03 to 04 Mach1 4v 281 that puts out 305 hp through a TR-3650 5spd.The Mach weighing in at 3470. seems like a real close race to me a pulley swap and a cai would put the mach at 320. great race set up poor camera and track cond.

sorry to busty your bubble pal but the 99 and 01 cobras have IRS and 320 hp the 99 cobras had a t45 tranny but im not sure what was in the 01 but the 96 through 98 had the solid axle and they were rated around 305 hp

96-98 cobra and the 99+01+03-04 were two different bodystyles. The 96-98 was 305 HP with a t-45 transmission. The 99+01 was 320 with tumble port heads, and a redisigned intake and exhaust. The mach 1 is a little moe than the cobra because its the same motor (minus the aluminun block) but with a little more HP from the shaker. T-5's were the tranny's in the 302 mustangs. The t-45 was used from 96-midway 01 when they switched to the TR-3650.
