But there are 450 million of us, and less than 30 million Aussies and Cockney combined, so I'm sure you can detect here some slight difference, but to the vast English speaking world, they sound the same. They all are drifting to the North American standard dialect anyway due to the US and Canada film/TV /news productions. IE,start pronouncing "R"s. Sorry!

Alot of the people who got shipped to Australia way back were in fact South Londoneers and "East-End-ers" (I honestly can't tell for sure as my information about the East-End is quite limited), I can just imagine it was because many low class people who resorted to crime spoke coincidently with a Cockney accent.
