I first watched this film when I was around 8 years old. It taught me quite a bit about history. I actually thought Socrates was pronounced Soak-rates because of this movie.
Realistically this movie is more profound and entertaining than The Godfather parts 1 and 2 and should probably rank above it whenever they do those polls of best ever films.
@cryostatis77 The trouble is, parents (like mine) always saw this film as two waster dudes who were messing around, not realising that if you look past the idiocy, the film has real genius!! And such a great ending!!
@femoman "Four score and ten refers to years. A 'score' is twenty, so four of them would be 80, plus ten, it's 90. The term 'score' was used in the bible and in famous speeches." this was copied from ansers.com.
Are you kidding me Sigmund Freud he was banished from any credibility because he was a coke head, I can't believe they would even tolerate him in any movie as a respectable legend. Not that I don't like him I'm just saying we live under government that don't allow studies conducted by scientist under the influence when in fact it should be preferred because drugs induce the truth. Sigmund discovered coke as a very good anesthesia because it increased the coagulation, he was disregarded.
These were two rett cool stoners. Wether you agree with doing drugs or not if people just mellowed out and had this Party on Dude attitude the world would be a much better place.
@oigooner well it looked like him to me you shithead cock chocker. you dont have to flip out on everything. why dont u go fuckin drown in a shit well u piece of ass wipe.. so get off me u stupid ass faggot. p.s. u like black dudes jizzing in your mouth
After this. He became a cop and survived a bom on a driving bus. Then he became a hacker and found out the world he lived in...... was a computer program.
I'm glad you can see it too, this film spells out much to the dissilusioned communities of today.... It is a synthesis of the primary facets of our humanity
The people in the school still likely thought it could be a prop effect, and anyway the guy is dressed as a cowboy so no one will figure him to be a crazed gunman. There was violence and guns in the late 80s, but it was 10 years before Columbine so people would not have freaked out AS MUCH. Anyway, the real question is why Bill and Ted thought it was a good idea to pick up a murderer like Billy the Kid, Billy is famous for KILLING people,...not to mention Napolean and Ghenghis Khan.
Hasn't anyone wondered how a strange man dressed as a cowboy draws a loaded gun in a high school auditorium full of students and teachers and fires it, clearly showing everyone that it's real...and no one bats an eye, screams in fear, runs for their lives, or tries to stop him? Now that's Hollywood.
Still, the report's the best scene in the movie, but I've always wondered about Billy's gunfire in a school.
At the beginning its a instrumental version of Bricklin - Walk Away . then when it goes to when you see ted on the bed it ends. the next song is Glen Burtnick - Not so far away but there is additional guitar work over laying done by stevie salas which isnt available on the song only in the film.
@Murmedon an oedipus complex is when you want to have sex with your mother-figure, generally at the expense of your father-figure. I think that's the idea
There's one serious flaw in the movie: Beethoven's hearing have deteriorated so much that it has to be after he wrote Eroica, by which time he hated Napoleon. He would never have accepted to share a phone booth with him.
So out of all the questions of time-traveling, kidnapping historical figures, and all around lack of concern for physics, the thing that doesn't seem realistic is Beethoven's tolerance for Napoleon?
I first saw this movie a month ago, I was thinking the EXACT same thing! Because Beethoven hated his rolemodel, Napoleon, when Napoleon became the Emperor of France; so he scratched the name out of all his songs.
its better then our generation everybody will remember the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's. but nobody will remember our generation 20 years from now... we live in a blank generation.
Now go cut your wrists. :P just kidding, but that is what you sound like.
Are you kidding me? the 2000's have brought upon us the longest war in American history, the most large scale attack on America ever. The death of Saddam Hussein. The greatest economic collapse since the great depression. The First half-black President of the United States. So many milestones bad or good in such a short amount of time. This generation will be remembered for the rest of time to come.
@DrPoon im not talking about war & politics im talking about movies & music I find that movies, music were way better in those years.... and fuck cutting my wrist i ain't no fucking emo.
@DrPoon LOL YEAH OK.... The 80's didn't suck dude it was just the american music scene that sucked because thats all the bands did was dress like girls. Canada\Europe didn't have to do that because they know what heavy metals all about and Americans stole so much from Europes\Canada's music scene. your the emo you always bring it up like if its all you know.. hell I bet you are one.
Your a total idiot. No one will remember the 2000's? Yea like people will forget the huge advancements in pretty much every technology. The internet, cell phones, music.
I am sure many of the other generations felt the same when they were in the midst of it. Yes, fashion (and perhaps music)- wise we have hardly made up anything that is "originally 00s" because we borrow everything from previous generations' fashion (music), which is a shame, really.
But surely the 00s will be remembered, and personally I think future generations will think that 00s were more special than, say, the 90s. Because the 00s were FILLED with moments that will go down in history.
