You know what sucks is I used to buy 4 pre-viewed movies at Blockbuster for $21,72 but now a lot of them have labels on them saying "Rental". I don't want some rental DVD. I want the nice covers and disc labels. And these rental DVDs don't have any special features. I think half the point of buying a movie rather than pirating it is THE SPECIAL FEATURES. You can't get that with downloads and they can often be filled with really great stuff. This rental shit only encourages piracy more I think.

Sure you can. Free stuff isn't always reliable. Sometimes you can't find what you're looking for and sometimes the quality is shit. I have a Hulu Plus account and I love it. I know that full seasons are there and new episodes can be watched the day after they air and it's all good quality. You don't have to rely on people to see only to find after several days of downloading that the file was incorrectly labels, missing files, or just really lousy quality.

Sure you can. Free stuff isn't always reliable. Sometimes you can't find what you're looking for and sometimes the quality is shit. I have a Hulu Plus account and I love it. I know that full seasons are there and new episodes can be watched the day after they air and it's all good quality. You don't have to rely on people to see only to find after several days of downloading that the file was incorrectly labels, missing files, or just really lousy quality.

Secondly this forces the corporations to compete by adding more content and lowering prices for otherwise overcharged items, so that they can convince people that it's easier and more worth it to pirate something for the extra content than to simply download a vanilla version.

See, the problem I have with this is that shutting these sites down, or preventing the posting of these materials, are laws they're applying to anybody who uses a site, even if they aren't Americans. Which they don't have the authority to do.
