Chris; I'm a professional lighting designer and pyrotechnician with theatrical-style live event and video studio experience. I live reasonably close-by (Chicago-area), which is where I became aware of you guys while listening to an interview on NPR. Perhaps I can be helpful? BTW: the wooden image at 13:48 is a mythological beast known as a "Griffon" if I'm not mistaken.
Ive seen a machine that uses the cat 50 size tool holders. There is a company in town that makes very widely used fire hose nozzles, I might be able to get you a tour if your ever down here. There better be a video on the installation of the main processor upgrade!
Just thinking about the soundproofing, on top of the drywall my best suggestion would be to use thick, dense fabric curtains as these will massively reduce the echo and will absorb any unwanted noise.
Let? lol Moose is welcome to do a video anytime she wants. She doesn't usually *like* being on camera. But whenever she (or any other member) wants to do a video, I'm certainly happy to help.
I'm a stationary steam guy myself, but yes there will be several videos on making things like that in our shop. It's all coming very soon as the machine shop comes online.
you should make more rainbow zebras, and turn that into something to sell lots of

Used carpet is free. and glued to the walls will deaden sound better than anything you can get for free.
By the way;;; there is a one inch thick drywall material. It is called core board.
If you are going to use carpet and put it on the ceiling. It is far easyer to glue the carpet to the drywall befor you hang it.
