I don't have a crossbow. but I have made other weapons that work off the same sort of idea, storing potential energy with elasticity. Point blank has always been the winner. a crossbow would honestly be no different to the rule, unless the arrows are motorized they cannot gain energy during flight.

@MrPenobe actually, its rather similar. a bullet it propelled by expanding gasses, this is not the hammer blow that people think of it as. its the exact same push you get with a crossbow, only you replace a cable with 300*c air and more energy. All projectiles are handled the same way, from guns to cannons to trebuchets to crossbows. The projectile loses energy after point blank.
The arrow receives no further energy after leaving the crossbow. Your also dont explain yourself very well.

@krogertacosauce t wouldent blow up either way it blows with a bullet cause when fire a bullet it has alot of heat and ignites the gas but crossbows dont the air cools them off to much and so lol hate to be technacall

@Tanner596 NOPE. When it "blows up" with a bullet (actually...this VERY rarely happens) its because of a spark. Nothing to do with heat. Sorry.
