Man, they REALLY ruined Akuma's power. I took on Akuma in SSF2 Turbo back in the arcade during the 90s and it took EVERYTHING I had. With a big crowd watching thanks to the 65" screen the game was on (custom made cabinet), I just barely won. I was the first person there to ever beat him.

An alright example of how to play this matchup, Akuma does have to sort of play runaway from Rog due to how much pain Rog can do when he gets in. All it really takes for Balrog to run his show is one Jab.....

Why not just Turn Punch, or EX Special his way through those projectiles? Balrog has so many better ways to counter a projectile than simply jumping over it. Nothing wrong with starting the match off with an instant headbutt, either.

In Japan, Balrog is M. Bison. Back in SF2 the translation got messed up. M. Bison is supposed to stand for Mike Bison which is supposed to be a play on Mike Tyson.
