My mom passed away on November 23rd, two days before my 21st birthday and the day before Thanksgiving. Her birthday was December 22nd. She would have been 38. It's now Christmas morning, and I... I don't know...
To be honest it is irrelevant what the writer meant to convey, all that matters is what the individual listening takes from it, that can be a touching tv moment or thinking about cancer, does it really matter? It wraps it's fourth season on Monday and heads into it's final season in the Fall.

This song brought a moment of a brilliant series to even higher heights. Yes, fans should look past the show and enjoy the song by itself, but everything has stronger resonance with association. Words and songs can take on new power by attaching themselves to our memories.
Nothing against Chuck. It's one of my favorite TV shows. But I suggest you try to get in the story that the song tells. It's truly beautiful and haunting.

I've never seen this "Chuck" show, and I'm pretty glad because I'd have to agree with Aequia. Listen to the actual song.
This song is just extremely, hauntingly, chillingly beautiful. Just listening to the words alone is enough to invoke some emotion.

This song brought a moment of a brilliant series to even higher heights. Yes, fans should look past the show and enjoy the song by itself, but everything has stronger resonance with association. Chuck is truly the BEST TV show EVER!!! It has romance comedy action suspense etc... I really hope it will go for a season 5! The song is really great and it's combination with the scene makes it even better!!!!!!!!

I don't know how anyone can watch Chuck while this song is playing and not shed a tear :( It was the best moment and sad at the same time, the look on Sarah's face at the time. I'm in love with this song, brings back memories! Chuck is and always will be the best TV show!!

I'm sorry, but at 3:05 I will always see Shaw's body hitting the water, and at 3:23, I will always see the leaves floating over him. I know it probably gets annoying for the band that whenever anyone talks about this song, all they talk about is Chuck, but, you have to admit... that scene was art of a sort that I had not seen before on broadcast television in my life.

I remember the first time I heard this song I was falling asleep in the passenger side of my friends car and when he dropped the last lyric "and I didn't believe them when they told me that there was no saving you." and the music drops I had to sit up and was immediately fully awake. Incredible song writing.
