Love REO Speedwagon!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was their Hotel Maid at Sheraton Westport Inn, in St. Louis, MO. in the 70"s Went in their rooms while they were sleeping WOOT WOOT!!! LOL Gave away my age
I agree. It was his song and a great one at that. One of the few songs i did liked from Mike Murphy with REO. Don't know if they ever played this song in concert with Kevin back then but, would have been cool to hear since he wrote, or was part of so many of the songs from that album. Too bad the 'ORIGINAL' "Ridin' The Storm Out" Album could never be released. From Peoria was an REO fan from the very begining they always put on such a great show and just flat out jammed forever. sed725
What's all this Hollies and Mellencamp crap???? Terry Reid wrote this song. ON the original Ridin the Storm Out album, Kevin Cronin did the vocals, but after he left they re recorded Mike Murphy's vocals over it. Shame!
:S Please check the dates mate the album that you're talking about was made it in 1973 or something. the Hollies version 1967 -68 as unreleased in a live version w/Nash who later was an album i think, Terry has this song in his first album Bang Bang Your Terry Reid i agree with that".
Sorry im not an English native speaker, so my mistake :D i just wanna share that info.
Thank you so much. If ANYONE knows a TERI SPEARS from Austin, Tx. who is 48 PLEASE have her get ahold of me. She will know who it is. This song brought tears to my eyes and you did a great job.
a song written by mr terry reid who i will add his version destroys this. completely, although speedwagon didnt dare to veer too far off the path of the original
Do you mean Terry Latrell

Terry Ried version much better. The M. Murphy era was weak. Of course a few good tunes came out of it.
