The most important part of all this, commercials for such products DO NOT USE A NEWBORN BABY as comparison for beauty. @AngieGrey28 Actually in the west (especially the Americas) being tan is seen as a good thing because, since they're mostly wealthy nations, people could basically become basement dwellers and become (in stereotype) extremely pale and "gross", hence why being tan is seen as attractive because it's associated with having an active lifestyle, which is considered special due to the amount of people who sit and don't exercise. That sounds really ignorant I know, but that's basically the mind-set.
