i am a new zealander and i am maori, i recently visited lebanon for 2 weeks and stayed with a good friend that is lebonese.and i actually fell in love with the place, the culture is great and the people are pleasent. the one thing that made me sad about lebanon is watching their beautiful children, and the thought came to me of when they lost all the children in the war. oh that breaks my heart!!! but i still love lebanon and i am thinking seriously in moving there one day...

i was in lebanon for Chrismas for 2 months, my first trip. it was so amazing, beautiful, the ancient history is everywhere. loved it so much, i went back for 2 more months this summer. all countries and cities have their 'bad' areas as we all know, but for the most part, considering that lebanon was in 30 years of war that only ended in the past decade, they have done so well...i am american and ii think lebanon is fabulous!.

@weisstbescheid It still is!: Beirut is being restored (apart from martyrs square which needs some serious town planning), the countryside to the south and Bekka valleyin the East is superb, the Roman temple at Baalbeck is still there.The only problem is the airfares (from Europe) are not cheap and overland travel is difficult - after all who wants to go to Syria more than once?
