EMU fails again. The only good products to come from EMU was the 1820m and the Zen. They take way to long between products and customer service is nonexistent. They shold stick with what the people want and cater to their customer base. They lost me a long time ago. I still have my 1820m and Zen both rock solid all the rest of their stuff BLOWS.
Hey, This vid is not convincing me that this is the board to run out and get now......
Since I already have the Xboard 64 and playing my old rack modules from the 90's through it. But of course if you got a need to just comp durng rehearsals or teach, putting the tone generator back into the board is a plus.
It seems that at the moment this is the only video of the EMU shortboard / longboard. It has a very good price, but it is a master keyboard with 192 sounds added (if I'm not mistaken). It seems one of the only keyboards with good sounds for the price! Please put more videos on youtube with a short demo of all the sounds. This is even the same price as a sound module without keyboard, but the key are the sounds. Can more sounds be added? Will it play the Proteus and Vintaxe X pro sounds too?
So, this is a real synth, and not just a master keyboard? Interesting! In that case, it's like the Yamaha MM6, Microkorg XL, Roland Juno D, Korg X50, Waldorf Blofeld? etc...
Dear E-MU before you release this product, if it ever gets released, PLEASE put some percussion controller pads on the left hand part of the case that is currently just an empty space!!! PLEASE!
That is a hardware synth! no software required! the longboard and shortboard are the first E-MU synths since the Proteus 2500 and PX-7 command station, which were release a long time ago!
I hope they get this out soon, also would be great if the old EMU ROM sound sets were available for it. The two Rob Papen techno ROM's had some superb sounds on them.
Man! They've been promoting this keyboard since January '09 and THIS is still a PROTOTYPE??? It looks a bit cheap/plastic to me.. but hey, I believe this unit will retail around $ 300,- so what can you really expect?
I wonder how many people at EMU have wanted to test the unit that can be seen standing on the left at 0:33 ...I know I would have (and she'd surely PASS!) LOL
Hey there, unfortunate to hear you think it looks cheap. Even though I am not a keyboardist- haven't played in over 10 years- I really liked the look/feel of it. The fact that it is wireless and portable was incredible to me, and it sounded absolutely fantastic. Seems like it would be so cool to walk around stage with it slung around you neck, much like a keytar.
The video was shot at Creative Labs, not E-MU. (re :33)She isn't an E-MU employee- in fact, I don't think she plays the keys either
is what he plays a actually song?, or a improvisation? sorry for mistakes in my english

"is what he plays a actually song?"
Sounds a bit like a take on "Glory Box" by Portishead.

This doesnt need a computer! it is a real hardware synth. Hopefully this will allow uploading additional sounds.
