One side of my family is active Evangelical Baptist and the other side are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons)--we get along extremely well and have had countless wonderfully spiritual discussions. @MrHappiness777 The fact that you assume that Joseph Smith is somehow an essential part of the equation shows that you don't understand yourself-- God could have restored any bit of truth or called anyone he wanted to be a prophet like he did with Moses. Joseph was simply an instrument for God to make a more specific path for us to know Christ- that's it.
