Serah: The most screwed over character in final fantasy history...she gets turned into crystal, then gets revived to see her sister for like 5 seconds, only to then lose her, her fiancé, and then gets killed at the end of the game...
I really liked this ending. I mean, it did make me sad in more ways than one, but still, it's different. I hate it when fanboys bitch about it being different when they ask for it, and the same thing for bringing the old engine back when they complain it's too much like the old one, and they keep demanding new ones. Seriously, not every fanbase HAS to be as bad as the Sonic fanbase :P
So will there be a FF XIII-3 or a large DLC or what? do we know anything yet? I just finished this game tonight and was soooo sad/furious honestly I bought FFXIII at christmas time and finally started playing it about a month ago, finished it, loved it and couldn't wait to rent the new one, I finished this one in 4 days...

Its a mix of feelings. I've already played alot of FF's and I've been sad and happy in the endings, but this one is just another noch! its really amazing, really sad, really annoying (because its to be continued). But overall I have to congratulate SE because they were really imaginative in this story.

Dear God, I just finished the game. This really caught me off guard. I hate it, but I love it at the same time. I do hope there will be a XIII-3. I've loved every second of XIII and XIII-2.
Just beat it! But that ending caught me so off guard! I LOVED IT! It doesn't always have to be a happy ending. A tragic ending can be JUST as good if not better. It left me with so many questions that I want another sequel, which I personally wouldn't mind. Better sequels then no games between the numbered titles.

Okay I've honestly never had a problem with any of the FF games (other than X-2), I get FFXIII-2's storyline and all, and the game is actually fun to play, I enjoyed every minute of it up until that HOT SHART of an ending... I could understand if SquareEnix was trying to be unpredictable and edgy, but this ending is a huge slap to the face for those who actually found all the fragments, artefacts and sidequests. I mean, all that work and no rewarding ending? Like "Wow great job, here's a turd."

I thought Final Fantasy means that the series is the last of another story from another. But, no. They have to ruin it by make more sequels like Final Fantasy X to Final Fantasy X-2 which is not bad. Final Fantasy XIII to XIII-2 which is confirmed as a cliffhanger which will lead them to know that XIII-3 is real. It's supposed to different by story, what the fuck? Can someone explain how Lightning turned into the crystal? I know Caius said that he had power of Etro, but why his defeating turned everything like in Valhalla? This ending left nothing but the questions. And that's why I think this is one of the best Final Fantasy games ever, I didn't get the storyline in first time :D There must be XIII-3!!!

Playing the Single Player on this one was fun. I enjoyed the storyline, characters, gameplay, soundtrack, and enjoyed the game as a whole. However, the ending sucked on this. I thought it'll be a happy ending where you saved Lightning, Cocoon and make the world a better place. It all came down to this crappy ending? That's disappointing.

@lucylulu756 alot of people complained that the bosses on FFXIII was hard, after all SE pointed out that FF13 & FF13-2 was supposed to be easy for begginers :P.. They should make a new game, instead off dlc, but even so, DLC is better than nothing :P

There was many hate on Xlll but i liked it because it showed how the characters changed, and it didn't focus on Lightning (because shes the main character) but focused on all characters and how they have different personalities and the only problem of the game was just linearity but that's now fixed in Xlll-2. :)
How the hell do you have a sequel to that ending, I would be perfectly fine if that was the legit ending but it will be interesting to see how the continue from that!

@anotherguttersnipe2 Yeah. In fact, if I recall correctly, the only reason 'the prophecy' of Cocoon's fall being such a problem was only 'cause people lived on it. By this point after it's fall, they should've obviously evacuated, and it's not so high up anymore to cause that much damage to Pulse from a fall, so there shouldn't be any problem.
Plus all their human numbers and tech makes colonizing Pulse easy. They should've stuck with that plan.
I hope they conclude this game, by makinf a Final Fantasy XIII-3 and not release DLC for extra scenes and episodes in FFXIII-2. Took me 2 and a half week about 8 hours per day to get all the fragments for a cliffhanger, and an unconclusive secret ending. P.S, I love Lightning haha
@KennBui123 Don't complain since you were the one who clicked on the link in the first place. They even put "SPOILERS!" in the title. Look at it this way, this video just saved you about 30 hours of pointless gameplay. In the end, you're pretty much back to where you started in the game.
This is THE ending. The paradox endings are just alternate endings to certain events that you've already played. Ex. Killing Atlas with or without the machine to hinder it. So there isn't really a "good" or "bad" ending.

I was very disappointed with this ending. Sadly, I was hoping for a kind of "happy ever after" ending. Somewhat like the last game. In my opinion, if they're going to do this extreme of an ending, the next installment better come soon (which it more than likely won't). Oh well, I guess I'll be waiting and putting money away to buy the next installment, even though this ending was quite disappointing in my opinion. One of my "Top 5" worst endings.

Sure the storyline is not perfect but it is different to say the least which is a good thing. A little suspense is what keeps certain people playing, with a ending like that it could just give you goosebumps. Those who like it or is curious will play the next because most wanna see how it ends and to tell the truth I never liked the first one XIII but I will admit they are trying to improve with a better storyline and it is gettin ALOT better after watching this I will most likely play the next.

@Darkshell77 Well, it's a cliffhanger, it's meant to likely lead into a third and final game. There's also going to be DLC which will tell Sahz, Snow and Lightning's stories that were happening at the same time as Noel and Serah's.
Does anyone else find it interesting that the Hope featured in the game ISN'T the Hope Serah physically new from XIII. Obviously its the same person but the Hope from XIII is still living in 3AF and would only be 17 years old!

@AtelierRoronagirl That's because they thought the timeline was fixed but instead chaos was unleashed which has the power to warp the timeline and destroy the past. Remember i.If you change the past you also alter the future. They have to bring the Goddess back somehow to control chaos and then you'll have the true ending of FF XIII. That's why I think Serah and Lightning would be back. :D
Final Fantasy XIII-3 is a rumor , and will never be made.
Square Enix recently said that the REAL ending will be revealed through downloadable content (DLC) and that the game is going to be much longer then you might have expected, other DLC like Sazh's story (28februari) will be revealed in a short while ;)

Snow, Sahz, Lightning and maybe even Hope's stories from the period that XIII-2 took place. I mean we barely saw them but there was a lot of stuff that we never found out, how or why Snow became a l'Cie for example.
I love all this anger flying around. XIII-3 was trademarked during the making of XIII-2. Idk where all you people were when that was announced. Okay I've honestly never had a problem with any of the FF games (other than X-2), I get FFXIII-2's storyline and all, and the game is actually fun to play, I enjoyed every minute of it up until that HOT SHART of an ending... I could understand if SquareEnix was trying to be unpredictable and edgy, but this ending is a huge slap to the face for those who actually found all the fragments, artefacts and sidequests. I mean, all that work and no rewarding ending? Like "Wow great job, here's a turd."

I thought Final Fantasy means that the series is the last of another story from another. But, no. They have to ruin it by make more sequels like Final Fantasy X to Final Fantasy X-2 which is not bad. Final Fantasy XIII to XIII-2 which is confirmed as a cliffhanger which will lead them to know that XIII-3 is real. It's supposed to different by story, what the fuck? Oh well, more money on Final Fantasy XIII-3 when it comes out.

I guess I finally got the ending.. so it's like the very begining of the game was kind of the end, and lightning was actually the goddess, and then when noel "kills" caius lighting die for real? omg this is so confusing. He's probably heartbroken T_T I hope Serah isn't dead too even though she is a seeress and will come back alive shes gonna end up dying again, like Yeul. Can someone explain how Lightning turned into the crystal? I know Caius said that he had power of Etro, but why his defeating turned everything like in Valhalla? This ending left nothing but the questions. And that's why I think this is one of the best Final Fantasy games ever, I didn't get the storyline in first time :D There must be XIII-3!!!

Playing the Single Player on this one was fun. I enjoyed the storyline, characters, gameplay, soundtrack, and enjoyed the game as a whole. However, the ending sucked on this. I thought it'll be a happy ending where you saved Lightning, Cocoon and make the world a better place. It all came down to this crappy ending? That's disappointing.

There was many hate on Xlll but i liked it because it showed how the characters changed, and it didn't focus on Lightning (because shes the main character) but focused on all characters and how they have different personalities and the only problem of the game was just linearity but that's now fixed in Xlll-2. :)

@anotherguttersnipe2 Yeah. In fact, if I recall correctly, the only reason 'the prophecy' of Cocoon's fall being such a problem was only 'cause people lived on it. By this point after it's fall, they should've obviously evacuated, and it's not so high up anymore to cause that much damage to Pulse from a fall, so there shouldn't be any problem.
Plus all their human numbers and tech makes colonizing Pulse easy. They should've stuck with that plan.

I hope they conclude this game, by makinf a Final Fantasy XIII-3 and not release DLC for extra scenes and episodes in FFXIII-2. Took me 2 and a half week about 8 hours per day to get all the fragments for a cliffhanger, and an unconclusive secret ending. P.S, I love Lightning haha

This is THE ending. The paradox endings are just alternate endings to certain events that you've already played. Ex. Killing Atlas with or without the machine to hinder it. So there isn't really a "good" or "bad" ending.

I was very disappointed with this ending. Sadly, I was hoping for a kind of "happy ever after" ending. Somewhat like the last game. In my opinion, if they're going to do this extreme of an ending, the next installment better come soon (which it more than likely won't). Oh well, I guess I'll be waiting and putting money away to buy the next installment, even though this ending was quite disappointing in my opinion. One of my "Top 5" worst endings.

Sure the storyline is not perfect but it is different to say the least which is a good thing. A little suspense is what keeps certain people playing, with a ending like that it could just give you goosebumps. Those who like it or is curious will play the next because most wanna see how it ends and to tell the truth I never liked the first one XIII but I will admit they are trying to improve with a better storyline and it is gettin ALOT better after watching this I will most likely play the next.

@Darkshell77 Well, it's a cliffhanger, it's meant to likely lead into a third and final game. There's also going to be DLC which will tell Sahz, Snow and Lightning's stories that were happening at the same time as Noel and Serah's.

@AtelierRoronagirl That's because they thought the timeline was fixed but instead chaos was unleashed which has the power to warp the timeline and destroy the past. Remember i.If you change the past you also alter the future. They have to bring the Goddess back somehow to control chaos and then you'll have the true ending of FF XIII. That's why I think Serah and Lightning would be back. :D

Final Fantasy XIII-3 is a rumor , and will never be made.
Square Enix recently said that the REAL ending will be revealed through downloadable content (DLC) and that the game is going to be much longer then you might have expected, other DLC like Sazh's story (28februari) will be revealed in a short while ;)

Snow, Sahz, Lightning and maybe even Hope's stories from the period that XIII-2 took place. I love all this anger flying around. XIII-3 was trademarked during the making of XIII-2. Idk where all you people were when that was announced. I mean, it's better to have a cliffhanger and get a third game rather than having everything end all happy and get an unneeded sequel. FF kids are spoiled these days. In older FF's characters used to die all the time. I, for one, am happy to see the villain win for now. First villain since Kefka to accomplish his goals. Good for you Caius.
