the only way you can have 200 dollar course books that must be purchased new each year is to have a DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. Before the department of education existed students could buy used books for as low as 4 dollars.

Government intervention works in reverse vectors- you get opposites. Department of education?? FDA??? Homeland Security??? Ron Paul will bring in an era of prosperity.

Price controls distort markets, and the government is in charge of what is taught. There is no place for government in Education or in the setting of prices. Ask the guy, who never went to college, and who cannot afford to send his kids to college if sending someone else to college with his labor is sustainable.

I just wanna add something. These universities also continue lying and suckering these kids in and promising a great career etc. Irony! There ARE no jobs for new grads!! Big lies of epic proportions. Well you see, they continue getting grant$ from gov to do so! The money flows freely there, back and forth. Hell, the PhDs teaching there are mainly just grant writers for these schools as well. I call it "Liberal Disease".

@driftzs It is not sustainable. The Government gives you nothing. The average person has that money taken, either by taxes or by having the money in his pocket lose value due to inflation caused by the government printing the money. The average person would have spent that money somewhere, instead it is spent on college for you. The cost of college goes up instead of down and loses value because the college has zero reason to lower costs or become better. They get payed anyway.

The Banks invented the student loan program. They loan money they made from thin air. Colleges use sales people to generate people who are likely to fail early and quit. The College keeps the money and the student keeps the debt. The bank is payed back by the federal government in dollars based on labor. The banks make money, the college makes money, the student owes and the rest of us have our dollars devalued, and that wealth transfered to the Bank.

@chronofusion The current law in America for fractal banking is the bank must have in reserve one-ninth of its "money on deposit". This money on deposit is in the form of federal reserve note balance. This balance is fungible, meaning it really isn't completely there either. There is no gold anywhere backing even one dollar. The only thing keeping the dollars value is faith. That is why printing it causes prices to go up. Fear of the dollar can destroy it, and the US with it.

I FUCKING HATE STUDENT LOAN THAT IS WHY I HATE IT TO PAY IT BACK. I OWN THEM $1988.88. I was lucky to have $4000 in the bank. We should banned student loan from college. It should be the military, government, and the state should be the one paying our college stuff. The New GI bill in military totally fucking suck that is why some veteran anti war weren't getting enough money only for their books. The old GI bills was better it pays all your college class, books, and still has money left.

What will he do about the money people owe on there student loans. I will never pay it. Not since the bank that loaned me the money is a money laundering drug running criminal organization that goes unpunished. Not to mention the money they loaned me was just printed from thin air.
