@BigRedChester i think that may be where you are confused. saying that the 9-11 hijackers represent all of Islam is like saying Timothy McVeigh represents all of Christianity.
@exploringprejudice We're not saying they represent all muslims but the fact is, on that day, it was radical muslims (al-quaeda) who executed 9/11. They made it very clear that their actions were religiously motivated by wanting jihad against the states. Timothy McVeigh, on the other hand, did not commit his crime in the name of his religion. Therefore, we have no reason to believe his religion motivated him. This makes his faith irrelevant.
@exploringprejudice Having said that, I don't believe all muslims are terrorists, that's ignorant. However, there is plenty of other locations in which the mosque can be built other than that of near ground zero. The fact that it is being built near ground zero is a slap in the face because at the end of the day, it was people of the islamic faith who carried out 9/11. Hope you understand my opinion and God Bless<3
i hope somebody buys that fucking property so they cant build there. and the fucking islams dont forgive us, they hate us! they always build some sort of muslim center of some sorts on lands or areas where they feel they have succeeded
Islam truly sucks. This disease of the mind should be stopped before it is too late, otherwise humanity will no longer be as it is today, it will make animals out of people, but even more stupid - animals have more sense than to follow such stupidity such as islam.
Mohamed was an unholy pedophile who raped his child wife Aisha when she was only 9 years old. Disgusting so-called religion it makes people become like zombies.
@Hungaria56 i appreciate the fact that you can make your point without vulgarity, however the statements you have made can neither be confirmed nor denied.
Burn a Qur'an day is obscene, but it's hard to criticize it as a sign of western prejudice, when every day in parts of the Muslim world it's "kill a westerner day" or "kill a non-Muslim day" or "kill a Jew day" or "kill a homosexual day" or "kill a Muslim that is not the same type of Muslim as I am day".
It's important to be self-critical, but it's also important to be fair. There are parts of the Muslim world where prejudice is not just popular, but the law.
nice video, alhamdulillah there werent many Qur'an burnings, but a quick correction is that, u are kind of mixing freedom of speech with freedom of action (which is not a fundamental right as the earlier), Qur'an burning comes under the latter & could be punishable by law, be it democratic or theocratic . secondly, burning the bra and burning the national flag are based on 2 completely different grounds, the first is personal, the second NOT, cud be punishable under breach of national integration.
God, it's so awful to see all these Islamophobic comments. People, WAKE UP!!! Hardly any Muslims actually take part or even advocate terrorism. And before you jump to the conclusion that I too am a Muslim and so you can disregard my comment, I'm not. I'm a Christian. A REAL Christian, not like Pastor Terry Jones. Last time I checked, there was something in Christianity about loving everyone, regardless of colour or creed. Or am I wrong? Seriously people, move on from Islamophobia. It's wrong.
@englishfrenchgerman Loving your enemies is the worst thing about Christianity. It's especially bad when a civilization built on that religion, confronts an ideology that teaches the opposite. There's no question as to who will be the winner in a conflict between the two. Enjoy the world as you know it.
It isnt wrong for muslims to build a community center or mosque on ground zero because if it was "wrong" that would imply that our religion (islam) is to blame for 9/11 which is moronic. The terrorists just happen to justify their excuse to terrorize america by abusing, distorting and hijacking the beautiful and peaceful religion of islam to carry out their own agendas. India is home to 180 peaceful muslims, same with Indonesia so obviously this is a political issue not an islamic one.
@Hungaria56 sad that instead of resorting to any kind of legitimate argument about what i say in this video, you have to take the path of least intelligence and resort to personal insults and mudslinging.
Islam truly sucks. This disease of the mind should be stopped before it is too late, otherwise humanity will no longer be as it is today, it will make animals out of people, but even more stupid - animals have more sense than to follow such stupidity such as islam.

@thegirl44 i have not converted, and i have no plans (now or ever) to convert, but once you go through a life changing experience, you just may never be able to go back. not that i would ever wish to return to having blinders on.
@xsomeguyx10701 sad that instead of resorting to any kind of legitimate argument about what i say in this video, you have to take the path of least intelligence and resort to personal insults and mudslinging.
Your thoughts mirror my own. A very good point.....its their right, but is it right? Look at the effect all over the world in reaction to this guy in Fla and how us as Americans...appeared to others...just for this guy to have his "claim to fame" or minute in the spotlight....
"Asking for violence?" Yeah, from the Muslims who want to do violence over a stupid piece of paper! You Muslims point fingers at nuts in other religions, but you won't point fingers at the nuts of your own religion.
@exploringprejudice yes, its a community center for all religions....also, an Islamic community center has been there for I believe 28 yrs and has been no problems and has done a lot for the community. Even back 100's of years...scholars of all religions...muslim, jewish, and christians....studied together, learned from each other, and expanded their knowledge and respect for each other's religions....Its what we need more of today :)
Qur'an (4:34) - "Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great."
I wish there was many americans just like u, that understood how disrespectful it is to torture and humilate others religion, but if this was the case we would have peace and love also respect by all. shame that people hate islam and muslims since 11/09 why cannot people simply understand that not all muslims are terrorim and that islams teaching is a good way and a good leeding way of life simply like christianity as both religions are simlar, why war why hatered? But you have done a great job!
one nut compared to 300,000 nuts. talk about your own nuts and how jaded they are. My friend who is a Muslim is married to a Arab Christian. Many of his friends refuse to come to their home because his wife is a Christian. YOUR RELIGION HAS BEEN HIJACKED and you should devote your time to a rescue plan. Maybe stopping in Detroit, Chicago, or San Diego would be a great start. OPEN YOUR EYES.
@jblackrupert As a sister to her...Islam is a life experience and I applaud her for taking the time in caring to share her thoughts....and in a respectful a decent way....mashallah
I identify more with her than someone who would throw hurtful or ugly names at another human being....not to mention trying to judge...how could you know what is in her heart?
I think you are such a wonderful lady and i agree with everything you said. You can do things that are wrong, but why would you if they are wrong.?. Do good things and you shall reacive good things back. Take care.
So tell me this...How does him (or anyone) burning the Quran change anything regarding your faith?.....how does that affect anything?.....what difference does it make if he burns the Quran or not?....It's not the first time people have burnt sacred texts or destroyed sacred images.....your own prophet did that on a regular basis.....such is the nature of religion.....It turns good men/women evil.
@guyincognito84 well, if you watch the video you would know that muhammad (p&b) was not my prophet, and islam is not my religion. so i guess i am not sure where you are going with this whole line of questioning.
it doesnt change anything about my faith. it doesnt change anything about my beliefs about islam either. people are evil sometimes. in the short run, and personally burning it makes no difference *to me.* but it opens the door for further violence down the line. the whole thing is sad.
@exploringprejudice Actually I wouldn't know. There is nothing about your video which would lead one to conclude that you're not a Muslim and to that end, you are the one and only Muslim in the world who's prophet isn't Mohammad. The fact that you feel the need to say "peace be upon him" only confirms that you are a Muslim and see him as your prophet. Muslims can't even say his name without ending it off with that vacuous end note....
@guyincognito84 saying that i am not a muslim and saying that i am in fact jewish and celebrating rosh hashana should give you the idea that i am not a muslim and that i am in fact jewish. just saying.
i say peace be upon him after the name muhammad because its a sign of respect. i dont believe that he is the prophet that muslims claim him to be, however that doesnt negate the fact that i wish peace upon his soul. just like i would wish peace upon jesus or anyone who has likewise passed.
@LaJuneBaby611 I was born and raised in an Islamic-governed country for the first 13 years of my life. I know plenty; furthermore, I don't respect that warmonger pedophile you call a prophet.
@exploringprejudice ....(continued).... It sounds like you're saying any violent act by Muslims after the burning of this book is understandable. Even if that asshole does burn the book in front of an imam in a mosque it still won't make his actions worse than a Muslim acting violently on him and possibly taking his life. As some did with the Danish Cartoonist, but you don't see any Muslims condemning that side of Islam.
@guyincognito84 you cant hold me up to anyone else, my friend. i believe that violence is wrong, regardless of whether it is ideological evil or just instrumental evil....
6) on what would have jesus done? Yes he was son of god he wouldn't have done anything tht will hurt even the devil. But you know what would have mohammad done in case of 911 mosque. yes u r right, he would have built it at the place whr twin towers used to stand, like he did in macca and madina. like his true followers did in jersulam, spain, egypt, india, pakistan, afghanistan and list goes on and on...read history of islam n u will understand.
4) every yr thousands of muslims n non-muslims die due to jihadi attacks if it is not koran then wht else is resp for this?5) Well yes its Ramdan for u, so it is for hundreds of shia families who lost thr family members in a recent attack by wahabis. same happened when hundreds of ahmedis were killed 2 months back. don't they deserve to celebrate ramdan, and if it is not koran responsible for this then what else is resp? So if a book has blood of millions on it, thn it deserves to be burnt.
1) u say currently it is a mosque but as u r adding a swimming pool to it, it will no longer be a mosque..wow. a muslim place of worship is called a mosque whether it has a pool or not..2) where did those terrorists who blew up twin towers were radicalized if it was not a mosque?? 3) what was taught to them if it was not koran, to do such a heinous crime?
@smartsug2002 so little you understand, my friend. a mosque may only be used for prayer, worship, religious ed etc. otherwise it cannot be called a mosque.
there is currently a mosque already near ground zero. it was moved after 9/11 because the building was damaged. this is an independent group than the one who wants to build the new community center which includes the pool and culinary school.
@smartsug2002 further, the 9/11 terrorists were taught a corrupt version of islam. maybe they learned their lessons in a "mosque" but they learned their fighting elsewhere.
the ideas that they were indoctrinated with before doing 9/11 did not come from the quran. they did not come from islam at all. just like timothy mcveigh cannot say that jesus made him commit the OK city bombing.
@exploringprejudice Well then why don't I see even a single muslim leader coming up and saying that what these terrorists are saying is wrong??Why 70% of muslims in islamic countries treat osama as thr hero?If your version of islam is considered correct by a minority then why shouldn't i consider what majority is saying as correct??Just for calling a teddy as mohaammad causes riots in whole world but why nothing happens when these terrorists corrupt the whole religion???
@exploringprejudice Thanks! It seems that he has been forgotten or that his acts of terrorism wasnt considered in the "war against terrorism" I firmly believe before America can declare war on terrorism...they should clean up their own front yard? Too much homegrown terrorist on our soil!
I don't agree with what he's doing, but at the same time, I feel like the Muslim community at large needs to start taking their "freedom of speech" licks the same way athiests, jews and christians have been taking for decades. What makes their outrage so special? Poor babies. Get over it.
@cano21 i agree with you. but there would be similar outrage if a group of "muslims" chose to burn a bible, or if a group of anti-americans within america burning a flag.
he had the right to burn the quran. and i stand by that. our constitution says that he could if he wanted to. but just because you have the right to do something doesnt mean that you should.
Sorry but its a two-way thing, the same way you are not taking people's feelings about building that mosque into consideration - that is the same way that pastor is not taking the feelings of Muslims about burning the quran into consideration.
You cannot tell us how Muslims have the right to build the Mosque and then complain about the right of someone to burn the quran. People are deeply hurt about building the Mosque, the same way people will be hurt about burning the quran.
I see nothing but hate on both sides. If I'm a Muslim I would never dream of building that Mosque there knowing fully well what anger and hate if will bring out in people towards Muslims, remember 70% of Americans don't want the mosque built. The same way as a christian I would never burn the quran because of the hate it will bring out in Muslims.
If both sides continue, the eventuality will be war, remember there are very many Americans who would love to go to war with Muslims.
@bloodeyez2 i agree with you that continuing on this path can lead us to war in the very short term. and while i see the idea of building a mosque there as antagonistic, i dont think there is hatred behind it. hatred is definitely behind the idea of burning the quran though.
hatred AND antagonism.
unfortunately, our consitution protects both acts.
@bloodeyez2 i never said that it wasnt a two way thing. people are hurt by both. i never said that they werent. sadly, just because people have the right to do either doesnt mean that they *should.*
if you notice, i also did not tell you all how i felt about the building of this muslim community center in nyc other than the fact that the constitution permits it.
Well you need to understand the anger many people feel about the building to make them travel all the way from WEST VIRGINIA to protest the plan. I think until both sides understand the deep rage and anger that will erupt from doing those two things, then the result would be catastrophic. A Mosque can be built anywhere, I don't see a reason why it MUST be on that spot, people are becoming suspicious because they're not given any good reason why it MUST be on that spot.
I didn't care about the Mosque until I noticed the level of rage towards Islam and Muslims in the country is sky-rocketing, I wouldn't do anything that would make people hate those who practice my religion. If its a civil-rights issue or there is an unjust law thats discriminatory against people of my faith, then I would fight. But this isn't about law, this is about sensitivity, just like burning of the quran.
The Imam behind the Mosque seems rather extremely selfish and self-serving to me, I don't think he cares about the sky-rocketing hatred towards Muslims, he is more determined and focused about building the Mosque regardless of public opinion and opposition. Which makes me believes he sees it as some type of a challenge that should be fought by whatever means. I think its that war-like attitude that will eventually make the hate spill-over into something very ugly.
@bloodeyez2 i *do* understand the anger and hurt behind it.
as a side note- it is *not* a mosque. it is also not being built on ground zero, in fact it is a number of blocks away in a nearly abandoned neighborhood.
i am not saying that it is right or wrong to build it there. i think that it is actually quite antagonistic to want to build it there, BUT, the building has been vacant for almost 9 years. people arent exactly screaming to buy up the property.
Well I would like to know why the Imam finds it impossible to build the Community Center (which will include a Mosque) some place else despite offers from the governor of New York. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat because it was about civil rights, equality and human dignity, this is nothing close to that, this is about a building and ego.
Muslims have equal rights just like anyone, and most Muslims did not give this Imam the mandate to proceed with the building.
@bloodeyez2 i think these are great questions. i am just as eager to find answers to these questions as you are. i think it probably is more about ego than anything to him at this point. there is not even a large muslim community in that neighborhood and a center of that magnitude *would* be much more appropriate somewhere else where it would better serve the muslim community, however...
I wonder where the so-called moderate Muslims stand in all if these, why aren't they speaking up if they want the building or not, why is this Imam taking on the responsibility of shaping the public view of Muslims, why are they letting this one person hijack the debate despite the Islamophobia that is spreading around the country?
I don't think the building at that spot will benefit all Muslims in the country, why can't they voice their opinion and tell the Imam to build it some place else?
Atleast we agree on something, now I have to wonder why we hardly ever get to hear from moderate Muslims, why do they always let the radicals and fundamentalists do the talking? When people don't speak up, someone else hijacks the debate.
The right and left wing talking points have also been hijacked by radicals, Islamophobes, xenophobes, and racists, so you have the extremists from both sides doing the debate, hence nothing good can ever come out of this, how sad.
@bloodeyez2 ... however... it is his right to buy the property and do with it as he sees fit. i just hope that, like for the burning of the quran... that they have adequate police and other law enforcement on hand should the community center go through. i see this turning into a huge opportunity for bloodshed.

It's important to be self-critical, but it's also important to be fair. There are parts of the Muslim world where prejudice is not just popular, but the law.
Re5Publica 1 year ago
nice video, alhamdulillah there werent many Qur'an burnings, but a quick correction is that, u are kind of mixing freedom of speech with freedom of action (which is not a fundamental right as the earlier), Qur'an burning comes under the latter & could be punishable by law, be it democratic or theocratic . secondly, burning the bra and burning the national flag are based on 2 completely different grounds, the first is personal, the second NOT, cud be punishable under breach of national integration.

It's wrong.
englishfrenchgerman 1 year ago

So tell me this...How does him (or anyone) burning the Quran change anything regarding your faith?.....how does that affect anything?.....what difference does it make if he burns the Quran or not?....It's not the first time people have burnt sacred texts or destroyed sacred images.....your own prophet did that on a regular basis.....such is the nature of religion.....It turns good men/women evil.
guyincognito84 1 year ago
@guyincognito84 well, if you watch the video you would know that muhammad (p&b) was not my prophet, and islam is not my religion. so i guess i am not sure where you are going with this whole line of questioning.
it doesnt change anything about my faith. it doesnt change anything about my beliefs about islam either. people are evil sometimes. in the short run, and personally burning it makes no difference *to me.* but it opens the door for further violence down the line. the whole thing is sad.
exploringprejudice 1 year ago
@exploringprejudice Actually I wouldn't know. There is nothing about your video which would lead one to conclude that you're not a Muslim and to that end, you are the one and only Muslim in the world who's prophet isn't Mohammad. The fact that you feel the need to say "peace be upon him" only confirms that you are a Muslim and see him as your prophet. Muslims can't even say his name without ending it off with that vacuous end note....
guyincognito84 1 year ago
@guyincognito84 saying that i am not a muslim and saying that i am in fact jewish and celebrating rosh hashana should give you the idea that i am not a muslim and that i am in fact jewish. just saying.
i say peace be upon him after the name muhammad because its a sign of respect. i dont believe that he is the prophet that muslims claim him to be, however that doesnt negate the fact that i wish peace upon his soul. just like i would wish peace upon jesus or anyone who has likewise passed.

6) on what would have jesus done? Yes he was son of god he wouldn't have done anything tht will hurt even the devil. But you know what would have mohammad done in case of 911 mosque. yes u r right, he would have built it at the place whr twin towers used to stand, like he did in macca and madina. like his true followers did in jersulam, spain, egypt, india, pakistan, afghanistan and list goes on and on...read history of islam n u will understand.
smartsug2002 1 year ago
4) every yr thousands of muslims n non-muslims die due to jihadi attacks if it is not koran then wht else is resp for this?5) Well yes its Ramdan for u, so it is for hundreds of shia families who lost thr family members in a recent attack by wahabis. same happened when hundreds of ahmedis were killed 2 months back. don't they deserve to celebrate ramdan, and if it is not koran responsible for this then what else is resp? So if a book has blood of millions on it, thn it deserves to be burnt.
smartsug2002 1 year ago
my few cents on this:-
1) u say currently it is a mosque but as u r adding a swimming pool to it, it will no longer be a mosque..wow. a muslim place of worship is called a mosque whether it has a pool or not..2) where did those terrorists who blew up twin towers were radicalized if it was not a mosque?? 3) what was taught to them if it was not koran, to do such a heinous crime?
smartsug2002 1 year ago
@smartsug2002 so little you understand, my friend. a mosque may only be used for prayer, worship, religious ed etc. otherwise it cannot be called a mosque.
there is currently a mosque already near ground zero. it was moved after 9/11 because the building was damaged. this is an independent group than the one who wants to build the new community center which includes the pool and culinary school.
exploringprejudice 1 year ago
@smartsug2002 further, the 9/11 terrorists were taught a corrupt version of islam. maybe they learned their lessons in a "mosque" but they learned their fighting elsewhere.
the ideas that they were indoctrinated with before doing 9/11 did not come from the quran. they did not come from islam at all. just like timothy mcveigh cannot say that jesus made him commit the OK city bombing.
exploringprejudice 1 year ago
@exploringprejudice Well then why don't I see even a single muslim leader coming up and saying that what these terrorists are saying is wrong??Why 70% of muslims in islamic countries treat osama as thr hero?If your version of islam is considered correct by a minority then why shouldn't i consider what majority is saying as correct??Just for calling a teddy as mohaammad causes riots in whole world but why nothing happens when these terrorists corrupt the whole religion???
smartsug2002 1 year ago
@exploringprejudice Thanks! It seems that he has been forgotten or that his acts of terrorism wasnt considered in the "war against terrorism" I firmly believe before America can declare war on terrorism...they should clean up their own front yard? Too much homegrown terrorist on our soil!

I don't agree with what he's doing, but at the same time, I feel like the Muslim community at large needs to start taking their "freedom of speech" licks the same way athiests, jews and christians have been taking for decades. What makes their outrage so special? Poor babies. Get over it.
cano21 1 year ago
@cano21 i agree with you. but there would be similar outrage if a group of "muslims" chose to burn a bible, or if a group of anti-americans within america burning a flag.

People are deeply hurt about building the Mosque, the same way people will be hurt about burning the quran.
bloodeyez2 1 year ago
I see nothing but hate on both sides. If I'm a Muslim I would never dream of building that Mosque there knowing fully well what anger and hate if will bring out in people towards Muslims, remember 70% of Americans don't want the mosque built. The same way as a christian I would never burn the quran because of the hate it will bring out in Muslims.
If both sides continue, the eventuality will be war, remember there are very many Americans who would love to go to war with Muslims.
bloodeyez2 1 year ago
@bloodeyez2 i agree with you that continuing on this path can lead us to war in the very short term. and while i see the idea of building a mosque there as antagonistic, i dont think there is hatred behind it. hatred is definitely behind the idea of burning the quran though.
hatred AND antagonism.
unfortunately, our consitution protects both acts.
exploringprejudice 1 year ago
@bloodeyez2 i never said that it wasnt a two way thing. people are hurt by both. i never said that they werent. sadly, just because people have the right to do either doesnt mean that they *should.*
if you notice, i also did not tell you all how i felt about the building of this muslim community center in nyc other than the fact that the constitution permits it.
exploringprejudice 1 year ago
@exploringprejudice
Well you need to understand the anger many people feel about the building to make them travel all the way from WEST VIRGINIA to protest the plan. I think until both sides understand the deep rage and anger that will erupt from doing those two things, then the result would be catastrophic. A Mosque can be built anywhere, I don't see a reason why it MUST be on that spot, people are becoming suspicious because they're not given any good reason why it MUST be on that spot.
bloodeyez2 1 year ago
I didn't care about the Mosque until I noticed the level of rage towards Islam and Muslims in the country is sky-rocketing, I wouldn't do anything that would make people hate those who practice my religion. If its a civil-rights issue or there is an unjust law thats discriminatory against people of my faith, then I would fight. But this isn't about law, this is about sensitivity, just like burning of the quran.
bloodeyez2 1 year ago
The Imam behind the Mosque seems rather extremely selfish and self-serving to me, I don't think he cares about the sky-rocketing hatred towards Muslims, he is more determined and focused about building the Mosque regardless of public opinion and opposition. Which makes me believes he sees it as some type of a challenge that should be fought by whatever means. I think its that war-like attitude that will eventually make the hate spill-over into something very ugly.
bloodeyez2 1 year ago
@bloodeyez2 sadly, i think you are right. BUT, what do i know?
exploringprejudice 1 year ago
@bloodeyez2 if you can easily see that this is an issue about sensitivity, then you understand the full purpose of my page.
exploringprejudice 1 year ago
@bloodeyez2 i *do* understand the anger and hurt behind it.
as a side note- it is *not* a mosque. it is also not being built on ground zero, in fact it is a number of blocks away in a nearly abandoned neighborhood.
i am not saying that it is right or wrong to build it there. i think that it is actually quite antagonistic to want to build it there, BUT, the building has been vacant for almost 9 years. people arent exactly screaming to buy up the property.
exploringprejudice 1 year ago
@exploringprejudice
Muslims have equal rights just like anyone, and most Muslims did not give this Imam the mandate to proceed with the building.
bloodeyez2 1 year ago
@bloodeyez2 i think these are great questions. i am just as eager to find answers to these questions as you are. i think it probably is more about ego than anything to him at this point. there is not even a large muslim community in that neighborhood and a center of that magnitude *would* be much more appropriate somewhere else where it would better serve the muslim community, however...
exploringprejudice 1 year ago
I wonder where the so-called moderate Muslims stand in all if these, why aren't they speaking up if they want the building or not, why is this Imam taking on the responsibility of shaping the public view of Muslims, why are they letting this one person hijack the debate despite the Islamophobia that is spreading around the country?
I don't think the building at that spot will benefit all Muslims in the country, why can't they voice their opinion and tell the Imam to build it some place else?
bloodeyez2 1 year ago
@exploringprejudice
Atleast we agree on something, now I have to wonder why we hardly ever get to hear from moderate Muslims, why do they always let the radicals and fundamentalists do the talking? When people don't speak up, someone else hijacks the debate.
The right and left wing talking points have also been hijacked by radicals, Islamophobes, xenophobes, and racists, so you have the extremists from both sides doing the debate, hence nothing good can ever come out of this, how sad.
bloodeyez2 1 year ago
@bloodeyez2 ... however... it is his right to buy the property and do with it as he sees fit. i just hope that, like for the burning of the quran... that they have adequate police and other law enforcement on hand should the community center go through. i see this turning into a huge opportunity for bloodshed.
