  • Really interesting... Thanks for sharing...

  • I'm doing ballet now for a while I In grade 4 many children/adults think ballet is cute but it requires strength and flexibility so if your thinking of doing a class dont expect a walk in the park. : )

  • the girl at 0:55 looks familiar to me do you know her name?

  • beautiful ^^

  • @dasherdancer1 With so much activity dancers are naturally thin, Some dancers are anorexic and/or bulimic, i have a friend who is a ballerina, she doesnt choose to be annorexic, she just doesnt have enough time for food, Sleep, Rehersal, Practice, Sleep, if she is lucky she might get in an apple or something, but a dancer has no time for cooked food, after long hours of dancing, she only has about 5-6 hours sleep before she does it all again. The apple is burnt off in an hour.

  • sooooooo beautifuul! i hope to be like that one daay!:)

  • My class told that me ballet is not that hard I showed them a vid and after that they where like sorry and I was like you better be

  • sheesh, with all the activity that goes on in a dancer's life, don't you think they'd naturally become quite thin?

  • sorry, i should have been more specific; ballet dancers are usually thin. SOMETIMES they can be a little chubby or big boned. other kinds of dance don't have specific body types. i guess that was kind of rude of me, they don't HAVE to be thin but usually dance companies want thin dancers.

i hope i am not offending any one.

  • dancers have to be thin because

    a. they wouldn't be able to do as much if they weren't and

    b. no one wants to watch a fat dancer!

they have to have muscle too...

  • @25aglbas97 Woah dude, dancers absolutley DO NOT have to be thin. I've seen alot of fat dancers and they're very good. Fat dancers are just the same as the skinny ones. I've had "larger" kids in my class and they can do just as much as me. I've seen great larger dancers.

  • @singforever19 Hey,I'm in a dance company, and some very sucessful dancers are anorexic or bulimic, totally not all,but about 15% in my company.

  • @dasherdancer1 LIIIEEE !!!!!! would you mind telling us what amanzing professional company you're in ???

  • Listen,I'm not trying to say that all dancers are anorexic, it's just that I knew alot of the dancers in that video, and they were anorexic.

  • @dasherdancer1 I've never heard a bigger lie in my life.

  • @dasher dancer1 dancers are not anorexic! that is so stereotypical b/c u have to have so much strength to be a ballerina therefore successful ballerinas are not anorexic!

  • This is beatiful!! Great job!! Ive been trying to find the name of that first song forever, does anybody know what it is??

  • Hi Marcee, I wouldn't limit love of ballet to females. I started taking ballet at the age of 60 from a woman who used to dance with the Bolshoi and Ballet Russe (amongst other prominent venues) and also in college and have been dancing for 3 years now. The deep passion that can conveyed through movement to beautiful movement is unsurpassed by any other art form with the possible exception of music - but after all music and dance are almost inseperable. Keep dancing!

  • dangg i always wonted to be a ballerina but my mom nvr let me she said mexicans dont dance that i always cryed nd beged her but she nvr cared...but i wonder what would of been if i had became one

  • @SuperChula805 oh thats so sad you couldnt do what you love doing

  • @SuperChula805 when you get older you can go off and do ballet it's never to late:) never say never (justin bieber voice) lol

  • @SuperChula805 I'm Mexican and my mom always encouraged ballet. I started when I was around 4 and stopped, but I'm 13 now and just getting back into it. I'm not sure why your mom would never want you to do such an elegant and pretty dance

  • @SuperChula805 casi somos iguales!!!

  • @SuperChula805 sorry

  • @SuperChula805 I was told no all my life because my father wanted me to do martial arts. I did tae kwon do and gymnastics up until I turned 15. Then I joined ballet and dance. I have worked my butt off and suffered but its been worth it and I am in a student company and the top level at my studio in just two years. That proves, its never to late to start! :)

  • @dasherdancer1 huh? no no no. Nowhere in the video I make any references to eating disorders or the "perfect body". Don't make assumptions of something that's not even there.

  • @dasherdancer1

These dancers are thin because their entire bodies are made of muscle. There is no excess fat because they are so toned. Ballet is very strenuous and quickly uses up reserves of body fat. I can guarantee that most adult ballerinas can eat as much as a pro football player.

  • @dasherdancer1 Anybody can dance. It isn't what's on the outside that makes a dancer graceful, it's the beauty on the inside. And belieeeeeeeeeeeve me, there's NO way you could be anorexic and do ballet.

  • @shawnastark1 i could not agree more

  • @dasherdancer1 wtf are you saying?

  • @dasherdancer1 none of these dancers are anorexic??

  • Great video! I love it! I love how you went it chronological order! Really great! :)

  • much love to everyone who dances and/or can understand and appreciate the beauty of art and the selflessness of ballet dancers

  • Loved it!

  • Beautiful!!

  • i'm 13 and i started ballet about a year ago. and i love it so far, i'll never regret it! btw great video!

  • @22moviefan keep dancing :)

  • @FyreBalletDancer aw thanks! i have and i'll never stop :)

  • @22moviefan hey! dnt u know if u can start dancin at 14 year old age?

  • @oOoOdaniielle

You know a ballerina started at age 14?Who? Cause I'm 14 and I really would love it. (well, I took lessons for 2 years but than I stopped and now I just started again)

  • @Lauriefishbone well, late starters normally join companies as artists or corps members. if you are going to seek for a professional career in ballet you have to really think about it because it's not easy to get into a prestigious company and get promoted to soloist or principal. if you want to be a professional ballet dancer, go for it! I started when I was 14 too, now im 16 and im in advanced foundation with RAD and in the fall, ill probably attend the idyllwild arts academy. :)

  • @Lauriefishbone I'm working really hard to be the best dancer that I can be and I WILL be a professional. maybe i wont join ABT, but I will be part of the professional ballet world.

you just have to set your goals straight and work your butt off, really, that's the key to achieve your dreams, like waldo emerson once said, "nothing has ever been accomplished without enthusiasm". go for it :)

  • @oOoOdaniielle i started at the age of 14!!! lol i have about 2 or 3 months daancin!!! ^-^

  • zakharova ! you can't put her it's may impossible be like her.. put someone more "natural" hahahahaha . But anyway cool video

  • @totinao omg i hadnt thought about that before! ahhaha yeah i think that was kindof a mistake... shes like an alien. but in a good way. shes AHMUHZINGGG :D

  • svetlana!! =D nice video

  • zakharova :DDD

  • i love it! the only thing is it makes it seem as if any girl can become a dancer. it's not that way at all. this video doesn't really show the strength(physically AND mentally) and the pain that we have to go thru to reach anywhere near our goal

  • In russia everything is so different! Herte it looks like every girl can become a bailarina!

  • yes russia is much different!

but it is hard over here too

  • Great video!!! Well done! :0)

  • thanks a lot! :P

  • I wish i could do that ..i'm starting ballet in a month i'am 14 i will be 15 then.. how old do you think i will be win i start pointe i pick up fast on stuff so plzz tell me. thanks

  • Hi! Thanks a lot for the comment! And hey!! dont worry! I quit ballet when I was 8 and I'm restarted 2 months ago! I'm 14 and I will be 15 on June. The time that is calculated for you to go en pointe is at least 1 year or 2 of training but it all depends on your feet! I do lots of exercises to strenghten my ankles and go up faster onto pointe :D Plus, I'm in the grade where we start pointe and my exam is on November and there is a pointe part. Hope this helped. ANY questions ask me.

    -marcee

  • I can't speak for your dance studio, but at mine, it all depends on the dancer and age. You are definitely old enough (if you go en pointe too young, you can really damage your growing muscles...not a problem for a fourteen year old) Since you're older you'll probably learn faster even with less experience. I would say the same as 'isthatmarcee' which would be you'll probably be en pointe within two-three years. Again, it also depends on the teacher

  • thanks for the comment! :D

  • i love the video it was really beautiful =D

  • Thanks a lot!! :D remember to subscribe, comment and rate :)

  • yay i posted a comment for no reason whats so ever!!!!!!!!

  • thank you cheng..
