I'll always hard boil the egg now! It isn't really your fault if he misinterpreted your instructions, most doro wat recipes on the internet say to add a hard boiled egg.
The biggest problem I have in New Zealand (and maybe your friend can help) is sourcing teff. Can millet also work?
