Love the house with all those built in cuboards and seating. The music was a little too distracting, but fit in perfectly with the kitchen footage.....no room to cook and the icebox around the corner, yikes!
I love this home, but I think it would be difficult to spend 6 million only to reside in a home with an antiquated kitchen, plus other amenities. Not to complain to live here, but the owner would have to forsake a lot of modern conveniences in order to respect the integrity of living in such a historical home. At 6 million that's asking a lot, plus I believe this is why the house is being sold. At least this what I read. I heard some idiot just legally destroyed a Neutra home in palm springs.
wasn't this the house that was used in the movie 'laurel canyon' with frances mcdormand and christian bale? funny that it's in santa monica rather than laurel canyon...
yes; the house WAS in santa monica canyon as lisa cholodenko says in the commentary track that runs w/the film. I believe she said it was owned by one of the film's producers.
i've not seen the dvd release, but rather have only seen it on encore cable and logo airings. i do love this little film, and the neutra house is magnificent...
Yes, I believe he was the one who had it restored. He did'nt live in the house all that long either, I think it was his residence for 3 years or less, then minus the construction time.
Okay, I'm pretty sure this is the house where Lisa Cholodenko filmed "Laurel Canyon" in 2002 [pre-restoration, of course]-- for excellent views inside and out before this restoration, watch the film-- some great interior details!
This is where the movie LAUREL CANYON was shot, with Frances McDormand and Christian Bale, among others.... VERY good film!!!

Wow, this place looks like a bunker from the air!
Used Google and viewed it from directly above.
"It saw it, it's hudge, it's alive!" (kidding)
Did bad they didn't include that shot in the video.

Background music makes you feel like someone is going to jump out of a closet and rush at you.
Weird, but attention getting, choice.
