point A) Gloria Jones was one of the first...there have been many covers of this song by many others like soft cell, the ramones, marilyn manson ect.

B) comparing Grand theft auto to Final Fantasy is like comparing a Playstation 1 and an X-BOX 360

The very first recording of this song was 1964 by Gloria Jones. She did a second iteration of the song in 1976.

Soft Cell's version/cover was the third iteration.

The Ramones are way down the list of artists to have delved into the twisted depths of this song...
