I don't know what people have against Halo. I'm far from a Halo fanboy, and have been a PC gamer for more than a decade, however I do acknowledge that Halo changed many things about FPS. First of all, the grenade BUTTON instead of grenades as an equippable weapon. Second, drivable vehicles that were unscripted. Third, big open environmnts instead of cramped interiors. Multiplayer became a bad joke but it really was an important game for the qhole genre. And remember, Halo came out 10 years ago..

The maps weren't big and open, they were just as big as any regular Call of duty map, games like ARMA have HUGE Maps over 50 Kilometers in some cases where you can roam the whole map during a coop or multiplayer session...Unlike ANY of the halo's FPS's...

Currently, there are 4 reviews out for Arma 2. PC Gamer UK gave it 83/100. PC Zone UK gave it 70/100. Eurogamer gave it 8/10. Videogamer gave it 8/10 as well. Seems there are some problems with the dynamic mission scripting, due to the complexity, but nothing game-breaking. The in-game landmass is 225 square km (140 square miles). AI is reportedly great. There's a video here on youtube showing an unscripted battle between 1500 AI troops. Looks like a must-buy to me if you like thinking shooters.
