  • Ten Years After Farewell Gig or rather Alvins Farewell was one of the best gigs ever. He is a true Virtuoso on the guitar. Ten Years After ain't shit without his presence.

  • @TylerVanner I've seen TYA with Joe Gooch twice, and found it quite enjoyable actually :)

  • Don't understand why there are any 'dislikes' on this song. If you listen to it and don't like it just go away you sad arsehead. Don't put dislikes on music like this played by 'proper' musicians. Bloody brilliant. If the so called charts was full of music like this instead of rubbish "sung" by people that can't actually sing or play an instrument the world could be a better and more relaxed place and people would smile more too. Honest, trust me.

  • A simple structure, creating an untrammeled space and a man who, unencumbered - leaving all unnecessary baggage behind - takes full advantage of it. That's rather wonderful - in fact, one of those things that makes you proud to be a human being.

  • Nice :)

    abeldanger(dot)net

  • Very soulfull guitar. Thnx for puttin this up.

  • He's like Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher...a player's player who never quite "got over" to the public at large. It's sad that some guys are this good and still get ignored.

  • hey alvin is great clapton is great bb is great mark farner is great gary moore is great stevey is great what i,m saying is they are ALL GREAT!!

  • 14572* = 212343184

  • lee never got recognized as well as many of the greats; but he's been 1 of my favs since the first time i heard 'i'm going home.' he is great. the best.

    jac

  • Alvin Lee + George Harrison=Fantastic!! I couldn't believe it when i heard this!! Harrison's great slide work, then Alvin coming in-WOW!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW. Whoever posted this: Thank you a million times. My favorite guitarist of all time. Lee is a master.

  • January 2009 - THE GUY added this 2 his favorites but I 4get what channel - I listen 2 it often it makes me smile knowing he actually expressed himself after almost 4 mths of his disappearance - I gave him a nice IZOD baby blue T-shirt that Christmas - I finally found out he got it this past June on Father's Day - it was nicely decorated by his ISABELLA

  • No words can do this song justice. I'm blown away...

  • Algo bien este blues...!!!!!

  • Alvin Lee, Rory Gallagher, and many other forgotten greats. Wow. I fogot just how good Alvin is. I'm glad I can say "is" So many of my favorite guitarist are gone now.

  • @johnhrey52 Its a shame Rory had to die, he's one of my favorite, and jsut like many of my other favorites ill never get to see them becasue they're either passed away or dont tour anymore. For those that dont tour aynmore they should think about the younger generation, which i am, id pay right away to see some of my favorite bands and guitarists from the 60s and 70s

  • One of those tunes that just stay with you forever.

  • simple is best

you can pack more feeling in less notes

  • Beautiful !

    Thanks

  • alvin rules....just as great and important as page, clapton, hendrix, winter, bloomfield and trower.

  • Didnt want this to end...

  • oh my God He riffs out like no one else

  • we saw Joe Bonamassa in London, and Clapton got up there and played a tune with him. THEY COULDNT TOGETHER BE GOOD ENOUGH TO SHINE THIS MANS BOOTS.

  • @MrPow19 I agree its hard to find these days some real passionate people, I watched that DVD of Joe Bonamassa, fell asleep after 20 mn - Any suggestions for some hot young guns out there right now?

  • @MrPow19 pls, stop bad comments! the three of them are very good, Eric Clapton is very respectable, Joe B plays very well. Alvin Lee is a brilliant performer with a lot of feeling. so was the late Gary Moore, so are Jeff Beck, Eric Johnson, Jon Herington, Drew Zingg, and so many guitar players from Jimi Hendrix to steve Vai. Respect them please!

  • @valteor wrong...herington is awful compared to these guys.

  • @MrPow19

They're all great guitar players and it's impossible to compare really. It's true we all have our favourites, but that doesn't mean the other artists are not good enough. It's often also our own mood at the time, a particular song or interpretation of a song, that makes us choose one artist over another.

  • what a tone, what sound, what a feel... my ears are crying...

  • ten years after undead sweet jazz woodstock fuck save the world now blues a perfect circle thanks alvin

  • damn this is so sad but true

  • @1of111 i agree

  • MUITO SHOW SEMPRE GOSTEI DESSE SOM E ESSE CARA SEMPRE FEZ SONS DEVASTADORES NA GUITARRA SEM CONTAR NA LETRA MELODIA E É CLARO A VOZ MUITO PERFEITO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @hardgreenhorn....just a side note, the original Big Red has been retired from touring. He has been offered half a million for it the last I heard. My favorite alltime Axe.

  • Let's not forget Robin Trower,Rick Derringer,and the late,great Rod Price

of Foghat. My band in 1978,Phil Frazier, recorded 5 of our original songs with

Joe Satriani.I co-wrote "Cruisin' The Strip" and "Super Dose." Joe played

lead guitar on all 5 songs.Check out "Phil Frazier-"Cruisin" The Strip"-CD

Baby" to listen.Meanwhile, "I Want Yo' Number."

  • C этой группой я познакомился в начале 70х,и до сих пор их песни трогают за душу!!

  • Undead to Saguitar and everything in between....Rock on Dude!

any chance he would record with Joe Bonamassa?

  • Alvin Lee must love his hollow body gear(s) very much!! i see it everytime is see his vids!! :P

  • i am in looooveee :P

  • genioo!!!

  • So so heavy !! That "tone" he have in this song and playing are heartbraking.! This are in my ears a nr one masterpiece.....

  • After over 40 years I am still a card carrying fan !!!!

  • Wow, that photo at 1:53 used to be a poster back in 1972.

I got it free on the inside of the music paper "Sounds".

    Had it on my wall.

    Great memories.

One of Alvin's best songs ever.

  • bravissimo

  • Master piece. Custom player.

  • Have never heard this track before and think I just came a little in my underwear.

  • One of Alvin's best!!! This folks is is why he is one of the greatest guitarist to ever pick up a six string!!! WOW!!!!!

  • @ckelley63 yes he is a little neglected but he already made his name

  • @blackdude57 One of the best!!!

  • @blackdude57 I almost forgot about this guy till I saw your upload yesterday that was since 1983 I gues

  • I here a lot of both Pink n´Floyd here, delicious!!!!!!

  • Vary Peaceful Tune.Reminds Me Of Alot of a more mello times

  • we have got to bring this spirit back to the world...and more...

  • Wow! All these years later and this tune still gets to me...takes me to a much better time, sadly as a lot of those folks are no longer here...

  • Does Alvin Lee ever play a bad note?

  • @mrsolofeo NO!!!

  • @mrsolofeo My guitar has all the same notes, but I just can't seem to find them like Alvin does....

  • @mrsolofeo Only those notes he doesn't play yet...

  • @mrsolofeo He is the smoothest shreader of all time. I have seen him twice live with ten years after and he had total mastery of the guitar playing rock, blues, or slide [using the mike stand] and even did an awesome bass solo lowering the string on his own guitar. He is jaw dropping good.

Dude is a maestro. He deserves more recognition for his talent.

  • @tvphilo Seems that Hendrix, Clapton, Page and Beck always top the lists for best guitarists while Alvin Lee and Rory Gallagher are mentioned as an afterthought. Unquestionably, both belong at the top also.

  • @mrsolofeo The 'media machine' pushes those names first. WE know it, and we also know the unsung heros are every bit as good.

  • @mrsolofeo Only when he's not playing...

  • Fantasztikus,nagyon jó ez a szám

  • O Gawd, it took me 40 years to discover this song! or maybe I heard it but smoke was in my eyes.......

  • magnifique!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow this is awesome. If you like this you should also like Greg Allman's Rendezvous with the Blues and Gary Moore's Still Got the Blues

  • very emotive.reminds me slightly of Snowy White's Bird of Paradise, another great British blues Player

  • I agree. I saw them several times and he was the best. No other band could follow them on a bill. I once saw Rod Stewart come on after him at Roosevelt Stadium in NJ and the people were so high on 10 yrs after thet they booed him and Stewart usually gave a great rock and roll show. He just couldn't follow Alvin Lee and 10 yrs after.

  • Ive listened to Alvin lee since the late 60s and I still like to hear him play as far as im concerned hes the best.

  • me a dado ganas de cagar

  • de la ptmre !! 🌙

  • I agree about the "Chills" you have to be a musician or a really really lover of music.

  • Oh man, oh man. I can't see it getting any better than this.

  • Canzone eccezionale con una chitarra spettacolare!!!!!

  • This is music ...... my music!!!! and this a piece of good lyrics .... " ...... Couldn't really tell you, how you hurt my pride, something broke within me, down inside .... "

  • If heartbreak and torture has a sound, this is it...

  • Absolutely wonderful! Alvin Lee is one of the most underrated guitarists of the 20th century. I take my hat of to a true master.

  • This fella is got such an ability to make me sad....

  • I saw him play in Columbus Ga in the 80's it was so sad to know only 300 people came to see one of the best!! Show cut short ... and a dejected Alvin Lee left Columbus... SAD night

  • WOW!! I'm gonna jam this song with my sons. I played along alternating C n Am. Lotta fun!! Thank you. As to the 22 geckos, eat shit n die.

  • WORDS I HATE TO HEAR BUT NEED TO HEAR THEM

  • The guitar sounds like it's weeping cause George Harrison is the other guitar in the background, greatest song of all time...

  • great player , one of my fav. bands , saw them live at the old rock pile in torontoin 19 69 ,any one knows if hes still playing .

  • From his blazing guitar solos at Woodstock "I'm going home" to my favorite "I'd like to change the world ",Alvin Lee really sang and played the blues here in this masterpiece performed about 20 years later.

Like Eric Clapton, he just seems to get better as he ages.

  • why is there always some bastards that click the dislike button

  • Xenial... grazas amigo Alvin...

  • Alvin Lee and Ten Years After are a rock legend. I agree with the concreteman that Alvin is a rock guitar virtuoso.

  • Saw TYA several times in NY, Portchester, between '69-72. Haven't been the same since. So underrated and overlooked. They ruled in my opinion.

  • " The Bluest Blues", huh, this really is... First time i did play this, my wife got somethin' in her eye. We both did cry... THX 4 uploading this !!

    Sincerely, Michael
