It is a pleasure and an honor to hear this choir sing in our beautiful language Papiamentu. For those of you who may not know Seú is Curacao's local harvest feast which is celebrated on second Easter day in the form of a big parade to thank God for the wonderful gift of grain and fruit harvest. In Bonaire they celebrate this under the name of Simadán. Once again thank for giving our beautiful language this awesome push!
Great Choir and even greater to hear them sing in my native language papiamento(spoken in Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire) Really moving to hear this!! Thank you so much

I have watched this clip over and over again. I was very happy to hear the CCC sing also this Papiamentu song so joyful and beautifully. I have done a search and learned this song was composed by the Aruban muscian and singer Etty Toppenberg. Thumbs up for you all, and keep up the nice job!
Amazing...it's a delite to hear this choir singing in our "Papiamentu". Hope to hear more songs, but indeed I wonder myself how it has gotten there. Have send an email to the one who've posted it. Waiting in anticipation, for a reply! Janella M.

A dialect is a variety on one single language spoken by a group of that language speaking people.
Papiamento is based on Portuguese creole, African languages, Spanish, Dutch, English and Arawak native languages.
Obviously it is not a variety on any of the languages mentioned above, but a language with many origins (like all languages have origins).
Unlike many dialects the use of Papiamento is not based on social or demographic reasons. Not limited to class and is officialized by the gov

sigh. I once already got into this discussion. Do you know the difference between a dialect and a language?
MyOwnFan1993 2 years ago
Why are you so ignorant?
Be glad that Caresselsings points out something to you. Besides, look at the thumbs up and thubs down.. it says it all doesnt it?
Papiamento is an official LANGUAGE. If you actually know the differences between a dialect and a language, you should have known better!
So try to inform yourself better next time and for sure don´t ´sigh´ people untill you have informed yourself.

Etty Toppenberg has never been recognized by neither Aruban or Antillean community nor government for putting our most delicious language on the world map. I'm sure he'll appreciate ur TNX at +297 5939943, the man can make the celebration of any event into multifaceted happiness.

Janella M.

Excellente, Increibel nos kultura a yega kaminda e mester ta. Lanta bo kara na laira y kanta sam sam ku e muchanan. Lo ta bon idea pa CTDB/Chata manda un grupo folklorico Chicago y duna un "push" na e koor aki y sinjanan mas di nos kultura.
