Bach Partita No 6 E Minor BWV 830 Toccata and Gigue Denk

No sure I like this performance but it is one of a few normal piano performances of this pianist that I could find on youtube. Most of others are with Joshua Bell or interviews or other kinds of promo.

I like this playing. It is deeply felt and of course Bach...

I have bought the 3 Partitas on amazon as a result of this extract. Very fine playing, and above all, musical.

I must admit I had no idea who " Denk" is but after the first few notes I was hooked and could not possibly switch off.

This is obviously due to Bach's music but I must say also due to this pianist.

@jasjjb I thought Denk.... and I had not heard of him either........ was splendid in the Beethoven with the LA Phil last week .......... big technique (maybe not the eclat of MA) and great musicianship. His handling of the difficult cadenza in the 1st movement sold me completely.............. tour de force technically and musically. The gem of a 2nd movement was wonderful the whole thing was great

@Beckmesser2 Thank you ! I did so and found a lot of interesting info about him. No wonder his play sounded so brilliant !!. Hope he will visit Australia some time also and play with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. I will be there if he does !!!
