Les images n'ont qu'un lointain rapport avec le son ! Il est particulièrement insupportable de voir Wynton Kelly au piano quand on entend Bill Evans !
great ! great !!! i really thank youtube and to those who have made this true by uploading those videos, i ve seen a lot of rare stuff like this here on youtube.., the only thing is that.. where the fuck do u guys get stuff like that from?
This footage makes me think that this recording was multi-tracked, and not live to 2-track as I had once thought. Does anyone know for sure if the horns were overdubbed on top of the rhythm tracks like everything is done nowadays?
It wasn't overdubbed per se, but I think the original tracks were recorded on either a 3 or 4 track machine. There were also a lot of edits made to the finished product, but all the actual playing was done live in the studio at the same time.
I want to own this album. I am kicking myself for putting it down the other day in the store. It's 32 miles away from the nearest music outlet other then Walmart and this album isn't sold at Walmart. It was because there were two editions and I wanted the better edition which was over priced.
Well, I'm kind of crazy about owning the real thing. After the Beatles released their remasters, I'm back in the habit of buying albums again. I finally bought "Kind of Blue at a fair price. I used to be a heavy downloader but 4 of my hard drives paid the price. I'm back in the city. I now do not have that problem.
yes wynton kelly was a big black man. the big black man that played on friddie freeloader. if u research a bit on it u will find that the solo he took on that tune is his most famous one and u will also find that miles brought wynton in specifically for that tune. Bill played on the rest of the tunes. but not freddie freeloader. if u have the album, look at the personnel
I really liked your video and your channel. If you need any help getting this video or channel exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. Its nice.
Avss02, just tell me this: which moment of his musical career that style belongs to? What style is it? I love this smooth jazz, its sound and those shady notes. Which works do you recomend for me?? Which years??...
I think it's just called jazz, but the kind of jazz your talking about is probably called "smooth jazz" or "pure jazz" or somethin like that. I'm not entirely sure of the time period it was in, but i'd try somewhere around 40's to 60's and mabye 70's (this is just an estimate so if i'm worng, don't make it sound like i'm some idiot or somethin like that).
Cool Jazz comes from the West Coast (California) and was influenced by the sax playing of Mr Lester Young. Their music reflected the Ocean, the warm wind, the ambiance of California. You would also like Chet Baker and Bill Evans..all Cool Jazz Legends.
No problem, I work in a record store (The oldest in Canada *Call Archambault*. They celebrated their 111 anniversary!)
I work in the Blues and Jazz department for more than 6 years now and I have so much to learn! That's why I love this music! It's the root of todays music. Blues came first and then there was JASS (Like they call it then) There's a lot of great book of the story of Jazz. Check it out.
Sorry my friend, you have to read books and books and you're goma find out that Cool Jazz come from the West coast and it was the music of Lester Young that inspired cool jazz. Miles was a genious without a doubt but was influenced by a lot of people (Exemple:His funky period was inspired by Sly and Family Stone) So Lester Young was the first to bring the smooth sound of the West coast called *Cool Jazz* but Miles perfected it.
All music is inspired by somebody or someone else, can we get on the same page and say modal jazz was the basis of being yourself and letting others enjoy it??
I just read Miles Davis's autobiography. Miles states that Charlie Parker took a band that included himself to the West Coast prior to "cool Jazz" becoming popular. He said that "cool jazz" was directly ripped off from the east coast bebop musicians. Their stuff was slowed down and cleaned up to become appealing to "white folks". So according to Miles, the inspiration for cool jazz came from east coast jazz musicians.
Yeah I know According to him...But a lot of people claime that they started a certain style (Ex: James brown said he invented funk...Anf Fela Kuti said it was Brown that stole his rythms...) We'll never know the true story behind all those kind of music. But Think about it, who was with him and giving him tips on the *Kind of Blue album*? Yep Mister Bill Evans (West Coast) himself. Miles, James Brown, Chuck Berri, Billie Holiday, They all claimed that they invented a style, a sound, lyrics!
Miles Davis gave us so a smooth sound in his work he to me was the type of man that was serious about his shit and he did`t play with people either and I like that he did not alond people to block what he did and he took it very serious as well.I have heard so much about this man he reminds me of my father with this very straight look he had I loved it ,he`s live performance.
Well I know that he had a mind of his own most people have a mind of their own gosh ...........if you really had read what I said then I really would not have to explain this to you .......right ? I mean we are all intitled to our opinions just like assholes we all have one.........lol...........lol
wow...are you fucking retarded...i was agreeing with you and saying that while he was a great artist and visionary, he would not be compatible with today's record companies becuase they are ran from a buisness model...open your fucking ears and listen...prick...and your prolly old as fuck and about to go die so you better put your last erection before you go impotent to good use and go jerk your shit to some gay porn cause that's prolly what your into
You really have a problem I see that I will not respond to a person like yourself because all you are really doing to upsetting yourself for nothing and you took what I said out of context completely you really need to seek some serious HELP and get it fast because you will never get ahead like that .
sorry for spazzin before...i jsut kidna got pissed that you didn't keep what i said in context...i was simply saying that someone like miles davis would have a whole heap of trouble in today's music industry because he was passionate about his art and they are passionate about money...money and art seldom coexist peacefully...sorry
You really have a serious problem .I did not come here to have a hot head go over board with insults .You may call me whatever you like but we all know what you really are ......lol.........lol...............
I am sure you can`t especially if you have that dick in your ear ......lol.............lol...........lol.........Look go and get some mental help okay I could send you some information if you like .......lol..........lol

Are you referring to the album, "Kind of Blue?" I don't seem to recall a track by the title of, "Kind of Blue." Did you mean "Freddie Freeloader?"

'kind of blue' is the title of the album only...there is no song with that title by miles davis.
