  • He certainly puts the FUN in FUNdemental!

  • Martin Luther wrote the 95 Thesis when he was still apart of the Catholic Church! The Reformation hadn't happened yet! Of course there was probably a bunch of stuff that he wrote "at that time" in his life that was wrong because of his theological "catholic influence." Obviously if you read Martin's later stuff, he doesn't talk like that. So this preacher passing off a judgement of "heresy" against Martin Luther is ridiculous. "Baptist Preacher Exposed as False by Youtube User" (schooled)

  • dude..

  • You are wrong again!! There are no statues in the Lutheran Church, unless you call a cross a statue! I know a man who speaks untruths when I hear one--and that would be you! Not saying every word is, but alot of what I've heard definately is NOT true! If you have a problem with a bare cross, you have a REAL problem, Mr. Stop judging the saved and repent and preach the GOSPEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @sanderson1611 Judgemental Baptist, arrogant one who obviously has read nothing of Lutheran's writings. So what? You go to Germany to get the dish on Luther, the next victim on your bizarre hit list. Do you realize how far away a state-run church (in a socialist country)can go from the foundational church (same would occur if it had been anyother church, 4certain) or are you just witless? What did you ever do to save Christendom?Luther deserves the credit for THAT and risking his life!Thank God!

  • @sanderson1611 Judgemental Baptist - Go somewhere else, perverter of the TRUTH! I know Baptists who do not agree with what you said about Martin Luther. But even if I didn't, I would NOT care, because you are being used by Satan I know my salvation comes from Christ. I follow Him above all else--He IS MY Saviour. He gave His life for my sins.OH, And you are still a sinner, fundie. Santification is a lifelong process as we read the Bible and grow in Christ. You are not Holy as neither is the pope!

  • @sanderson1611 Judgemental Baptist - deceitful and prideful and "holier-than-thou". You are an angry Fundie. Lutherans DO NOT believe those LIES you told. Still say, YOUR pastor should know better than to say these lies. Unless, he is just ignorant/stupid. Oh, and that woman...laughing hyenas do not help your presentation of bald-face deception! Fundamentalists do nothing but condemn. And laugh about it!! I would dare not laugh at the thought of someone going to hell...that is your FRUIT??!!UGH!

  • @sanderson1611 Judgemental Baptist - deceitful and prideful. The laughing jackass woman in the back gives you away.Sounds like WESTBORO!!! Hmmm... Once again--read Luther's writing's. If it were up to a Baptist to lead,we would still be Catholic.Get off your high horse. Read Prov:16:18.Oh, and the TRUTH as Luther said is found in Romans 10:6-10. He freed many by the power of the Holy Spirit from Catholic MIStruths, where your church sows discord among the bretheran.Shame on you, Pharisee!REPENT!

  • @sanderson1611 Judgemental Baptist Hypocrites! I spelled ignoramus wrong, because I was so shocked by your blatant liesBut you are still woefully ignorant and spreading lies.To say the Lutheran Church in Germany represents Lutheranism is to say Ted Haggard has represented you Baptists! Westboro's church of hate and judgement has revealed you Baptists?! Jimmy"blubbering all over the TV to keep his show"Swiggart must be a representation of the Baptist he claims to be!Must we go Truth thief.REPENT!

  • @sanderson1611 Are you Baptists? Ah,yes...those are representted by the church,YES, the baptist church--oh what's their name that boycott USA Christian funerals--ah, Westboro. They're Baptist, indeed!! You are an ignoleramus liar and it is ppl like you who try to divide and CONQUER Christianity!! Judge not, lest ye be judged. But if you still won't follow the Bible, at least get the FACTS straight. You'd would wet yourself in embarassment if you'd google+read the Lutheran Confessions, heretic!!

  • Wow! Germany--now there's a real represention of Lutheranism, you idiot!! Europe has lost it's love for Christianity and is falling apart. Is this what the Lutheran Church teaches in the USA? You are disgusting and ar a liar!! Who is your idiot woman laughing loudly in the background! Read Lutheran Confessions and Luther's Small and Large Catechism? Yeah, you have Jimmy Swiggart as your role model--not very funny, huh?

  • Try actually reading Luther, these theses were intended for public, university debate and are rather contextual. Luther's works span more than 55 published volumes, and contributed foundationally to sound Protestant theology––far more coherent than anything this chump could piecemeal together! LORD HAVE MERCY!

  • "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread he will live forever. This bread ismy flesh which I will give for the life of the world.?

For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.........he who feeds on this bread will live forever." Jesus Christ....John 6

  • The first Baptist church in North American is usually recognized as formed by Roger Williams. He was ordained in the church of England...he split with them and joined the Puritans, then he became more radical and became a seperatist....later he split from them and started the first Baptist church in North America. But woe is me he quit the Baptist sect as well and joined another sect. This is the history of the Baptist....they are unstable and contentious. If you doubt it listen to SAnderson.

  • You have to get to a few more church splits before you get the the Baptists. The Lutherans and Anglicans split from the R.C. church, The Puritans and separtists split from the Anglcian church...the Congregationalists split from the Presbyterians or Puritans then the Baptist emerged from them.

  • Martin Luther was a Catholic for at least a year after he posted those on the the Wittenberg door.

  • History Fail.

  • Just checked out his website. He (Anderson) holds no college degree, but has over 140 chapters of the Bible memorised word for word, including half the New Testament. Apparently, this makes it a good idea to criticise to the point of calling heresy the works of someone who went all the way through university education, became part of the clergy, STUDIED over 140 chapters (the entire Bible, actually), and spoke out against wrongdoings in the church. Hmm...

  • this guy is against everything apparently! God needs to give him love and patience

  • @patriciacarrasco Baptist Fundamentalism is a cult and has little to do with historic Christianity.

  • Martin Luther had the guts to stand up to the catholic church!!! Even though he knew it could mean death!!! read his story!!! This guy is a envyous!!! if a terrorist came in and said ima kill any christian!! he would be the first to deny christ!! foolish coward!!! follow Jesus not foolish men!!!

  • I want to see his sermon, "Jesus exposed as a heretic"

  • Still waiting for his next video: "The Apostle Paul exposed as a heretic by Baptist preacher"...

  • 28. It is certain that when the penny jingles into the money-box, gain and avarice can be increased, but the result of the intercession of the Church is in the power of God alone.

Let me help you understand. In this one, he speaks of when indulgances are paid-as soon as it was paid-you can sin some more and than pay the pope again. In this ideal, Luther opposes purgatory and indulgances as foregiveness and righteousness ofzgod isoin the hands of God-not a pope or priest

  • This pastor is in a grosse error in his condemnations of Luther-if one read all 95, you would see a lot of reasoning and perhaps a bit of irony. I guess it is best this preacher does not believe in schools-a great day will appear before the return of Christ, there would be a 1000 fold of flatulence if this person ever used his mind to think or dared to darken a school room to take a class in rhetoric and critical thinking-if he ever did-I would be looking for the return of Christ or Lake Bandini

  • Mr anderson, the only reason you are preaching from a pulpit today is because of martin luther (in which God used to bring about the reformation) you are just an angry arminian who wants to try to save people through your own works so you may boast and give yourself credit rather to give God the credit for saving people. It is all grace. Martin Luther was not a perfect man but God used him. king David, then again im not perfect, mr anderson is not perfect, you who are reading this not perfect,

  • I agee with you both i would put my sunday school class up against him and they are 13-16 yrs old.

  • How is the Real Presence of Jesus in Holy Communion idolatry???

  • One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism.

  • Mr. Anderson, I'm so embarrassed for you here. To say Martin Luther was not saved takes idiot nerve. You understand good and well that if Luther had that moment in time when he KNEW Jesus had to die to save his soul, then of course he was as saved as you claim you are, it's as simple as that. Where in the world is your grace?

  • Sounding brass and clanging cymbal == Mr. Anderson

  • Why does Pastor Anderson Feel as though he should take time, that should be for speaking a message from God to His people, to speak out against and even mock God's anointed? They may have been wrong on some accounts, but no one has it all perfectly right. "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone."

  • @Peugeot908HDIFAP Pope Leo X forgot that we are saved by grace and not by buying indulgences.

  • Did this guy go to an actual seminary, or did he just declare himself a pastor like every other fundamentalist. What an idiot. He's so insulting to liturgical Christianity. How typical.

  • Martin Luther believed in works and actually beat and starved himself until he was 40 and read haggai 1 and he then realized it was all grace and that's when the reformation started

  • I don't think this guy likes anything.....sounds miserable to me

  • I've watched a couple videos of this guy

  • @sdsanchezss I wish I could say the same. This guy has a horrible outlook on life and attacks everything that is not of his little gathering. He would be stoned, burned, hung, and drowned if he preached this crap in the days of Martin Luther.

  • STEVE ANDERSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • For a guy who thinks he saves people(still trying to find where Steve Anderson is the new midiator). By the way-do you know who started this whole blasted thing about having the bible in our vernacular? Do not forget to thank Luther for that

  • without those 95 thesis there would be no baptists today as well... this man simply doesnt understand that this started the whole reformation

  • So who in this guy's mind is a "true christian". Probably him, the laughing woman, and the crying baby.

  • @ccromwell26 and the hate group Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas. Anderson doesn't understand that if it wouldn't of been for Martin Luther aka the Father of the Reformation Movement there would be no Baptists today. Luther stood up to the papal system. I'd doubt Anderson would ever do that.

  • Luther at least stood up against the papal system.

The 99 theses were important because they dared postulate that the word was more important than church doctrine.

I doubt if this guy's words will be around in 500 years.

  • @Txsray: It stood up against indulgences, yet at that time he still considered the papal system to be true.

  • @luxlucis777

Exactly... I'm a Filipino Lutheran... And I athest that a true and faithful teacher is one who knows how to properly and clearly distinguish Law and Gospel.. I bet this Mr. Anderson doesnt even know the true Gospel or even the law...

  • @luxlucis777

Exactly... I'm a Filipino Lutheran... And I athest that a true and faithful teacher is one who knows how to properly and clearly distinguish Law and Gospel.. I bet this Mr. Anderson doesnt even know the true Gospel or even the law...

  • This man is incredibly ignorant. He knows no theology or church history. "Eat the cracker and drink the juice?" If this man is a Bible believing Christian, why does he not believe Jesus' words "This is my body" and "This cup is the new covenant in my blood shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins"? That's because like all fundamentalists, he is a cherry-picker. He just picks and chooses that which he wants to follow. He knows nothing about Luther's

    theological development.

  • You misunderstand that these Theses were posted within a historical context and not in a vacuum.

  • Comment removed

  • No, Martin Luther was not a Baptist. He was the founder of the Lutheran Church. He did not intend to start a Reformation, he just saw some problems with what the church was teaching and wanted people to start reading the Bible for themselves. If the church was doing that, he would have known more. Man, without Martin Luther, you would not even have the right to preach the Gospel today. Please study some church history.

  • This is the most ridiculous video i've ever seen. An honest theologian takes the historical context into account. Luther lived and taught according to the light that he had. Obviously, his views developed over his lifetime. Whoever this guys is, he is a joke of a scholar.

  • Wow. I pity sanderson1611. I hope he grows with humility and theological studies.

  • If if weren't for Martin Luther this false teacher Anderson would be belittling people for not wearing their crucifixes and praying to enough saints.

  • Luther and his new religion turned Christianity into a denominational mess with thousands of varieties of Protestants each interpreting the Bible their own way and not agreeing on anything. They need to stop following a medieval monk.

  • @zoeyjusko

And follow who? That lying old bachelor in Rome?

  • @zoeyjusko hmm and people need to stop following the Pope. The Catholic teachings are nothing but a lie. So tell me who is correct?? Pope Benedict XVII, Joseph Smith, Muhammed?? Neither as all are wrong and false.

  • Finally at 5:03 someone had the nerve to protest this message!!!

  • @HeReformedMe haha, yeah. They should just let the baby preach. It would contain more affirmation of God's character than this man's preaching.

  • @ksartin86 yeah, ya know I feel really bad that this guy was tazed by the border patrol and all that...

    ...But... I get it... :-P

    God bless

  • @luxlucis777 I agree 100 % What is not ever dealt with is sometimes when something is brought out-well almost like ripping scriptures pout of context-not that Luther wrote scripture, but many times to take one point of the 95 and reading it out loud when this was related to a previous points naming the subjects or when naming the pope misrepresenting what was taught. In a book about the history of reformation-they brought the fact of repetiveness betrays a less polished thinking/writing

  • ROFLMAO - Catholics are heretics, as are Calvinists, Martin Luther, John Wesley, John Bunyan, Charles Spurgeon, etc etc etc etc.

Am I supposed to guess the only one who is not, has never been, and will never be a heretic, at least in HIS own eyes, is Mr Anderson? Or might it be safer to assume he's an ignorant, arrogant, megalomaniac dumbcluck.

  • IF THIS MAN IS A CHRISTIAN HE WILL RECANT...WE WILL SEE...YOU WOULD THINK HE WOULD READ HIMSELF THE WORKS OF MARTINS LATER WORKS. THIS GUY MUST HAVE GOT SAVED AND THE NEXT DAY WAS SMART ENOUGH IN THE WAYS OF CHRIST TO PREACH...I DON'T THINK SO

  • It is so unfortunate that this guy dosen't understand the 95 thesis of Martin Luther was at the beginging of his transformation...He was still a catholic when he wrote the 95...torn between his convictions and the catholic church he would have in no way known to do it different...ML in no way shape or form could have even concieved what he nailed to a door would reform the world of Christianity...and later in his life (much) became Born Again...and his writings reflected that

  • A typically ignorant and arrogant Baptist dumb ass. I'll say as I always do that the Baptist worship another Christ. It can be easily shown that there's not much difference between the Baptist Jesus and the Muslim Jesus. I'm actually tired of Baptists speaking favorably of Luther. Finally here's a guy who puts himself in his own place by properly drawing a line between us.

  • By the way it gores like this Ephesians 2:8-10 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

  • A fact of History if You’re an Evangelical Baptist Fundie Methodist a Lutheran or any one of the 30,000 denominations it was derived from Martin Luther. Martin Luther was the source of you beliefs..

Fact of History Before Luther Their was no belief in what is called Protestantism its Core Doctrines of Justification of faith alone and scripture alone.

  • The man made journey of Protestantism begins and is nothing more than the machinations of a Very confused Man.

10/31/1517 Luther Tacked his 95 Theses to the door of the church in Wittenberg Germany

Most Proties cite this date as the Start of the Protestant Reformation. They think this marked Luther’s stand for the protestant faith. And the start of true Biblical Christianity..

  • What they don’t know

    Luther’s 95 theses acknowledged

The Office Of the Pope more than 20 times. And the Office of The Pope was instituted By Christ.

In his theses number 25-29 acknowledged the existence of Purgatory.

He also reinforces his belief in indulgences and that they are biblical. Quote from Luther Number 71 in his theses

Let him be accursed who denies the apostolic character of the Indulgences

  • The Point here is the protestant faith was still unknown to Luther and to the rest of the Christian world at this time 10/31/17

Their was no statement on Justification on faith alone or bible alone no repudiation of the Papal office or any other Catholic dogma. Which proties of today would reject..

  • All you have on this date is a confused and convoluted priest. Who claiming to be a catholic was clearly falling from the faith. Into his own wild version of the faith especially in regards to indulgences he clearly did not hold the protestant version of them.

  • 1518 Luther published his sermon on indulgences and Grace. Where he attacked the traditional way of dividing penance into contrition confession and satisfaction Luther claimed it was not found in Scripture even though John 20,23, clearly indicates confession. This prompted the First Catholic church investigation of Luther.

  • At this time it must be said their were on a few occasions priest who were selling indulgences and this was a departure from catholic teaching on indulgences . Indulgences cannot be bought.. And represent a departure from catholic teaching. In no way justified the repudiation of the traditional teaching of the treasury of the teaching of Jesus and the Saints and the Power of the Keys given to St Peter in Matthew 16.

  • I am a lutheran and this gentlemen forgets the main teaching of the lutheran church and that is the authority of scripture and Martin Luther said that if anything I said goes against scripture then I am wrong. Just looking at one work or one verse of scripture is not honest debate because it leaves out all the rest. You must listen to the total argument to be honest. I welcome this man to debate with me and I will use the book of concord and especially scripture in the interest of truth

  • if it wasnt for the 95 thesis of Martin Luther we would still be in the Babylonian Captivity! thats what Baptists dont get

  • John Calvin upheld the 95 thesis! the Baptist Church derives their doctrines from John Calvin

  • Isnt cherry-picking statements out of context fun? You can make it say whatever you want to say. Saying "I always heard Luther was a Christian!" and then cherry-picking single sentences out of context is as foolish and misleading as saying "I thought the Bible said God loved the world!" and then reading only a few chapters of Joshua where God commands Israel to slaughter Canaanite women and children.

Read Luthers words IN CONTEXT nimwit. Might I suggest educating yourself on church history?

  • what the calvinist mind fails to understandis this that Martin Luther was an anti -semite......makes you think doesnt it ?

  • @tgillspy And what the Armenian mind fails to understand is that you're all anti-AnyoneWhoIsntChristian.Makes you think doesn't it?

  • @tgillspy the jews are anti-christ makes you think too dosnt it

  • @tgillspy John Calvin didnt like the jews much ether

  • This guy reminds me of Jack from Lost. Anyone else see it?

  • This guy is flat out ignorant and needs to go away!

  • never preach again

  • wow, 55 voted they disliked.

Martin Luther could have possibly grown after his 95 Thesis. But I think Mr Anderson points out that maybe Martin Luther shouldn't be put on quite the pedestal people put him on. Which is right and a healthy outlook.

Too many times, too many people elevate people such as Calvin and Martin to positions they have no business being in. And people wind up holding onto the teachings of man instead of God.

  • @LiquidSmooth "And people wind up holding onto the teachings of man instead of God."

Yea!!! If only someone would make this point...in, say, a thesis.....maybe around 95 of them....and then maybe even post it on the door of a church!!

If only someone had thought of doing this before.......

  • If the baptist pastor is to be taken seriously here, I would first have to believe that anything anyone writes at any point in their life can be used at some point in the future as the basis upon which their entire life's beliefs can be drawn. Such a formulae, if used to draw conclusions, will lead to self-deception and false thesis.

I'm not Lutheran--I'm Baptist. His preaching tempts me to convert to Catholicism in reaction to his contempt for common sense and knowing embrace of nonsense.

  • Dear, Pastor Steven L. Anderson

    2. If you really want to know something about what Martin Luther teaches and believies you must read Small and Great Catechism. It's included in book of Concord which most of Lutheran churches acknowledge as their creed.

    3. So if you want to prove that Martin Luther was false teacher then you must prove it according at least to Small and Great Catechism but not according to 95 thesis. It would be just fair.

    P.S. 1 Cor. 10:12, Mat 5:22, 1 Cor. 13

    God Bless You!

  • Dear, Pastor Steven L. Anderson

I must say that your presumptions about Martin Luther's 95 Theses is false.

    1. If you ever have written some academic dissertation then you must know that thesis which you may put forward at the start of work could be proved as true or it can

be proved as false at the of the work. So Martin Luther's 95 Theses wasn't his doctrinical insights, but he wanted to discuss about these theses.

  • Yes, Martin Luther considered himself a good catholic. And you sir have know studying in the bible besides just memorizing the verses. To understand what the authors were speaking you need to learn their culture and the translations which btw KJV is a horrible translation by 14 scholars only using 7 original transcripts.

  • If you knew your history you would know that the 95 theses marked the BEGINNING of the reformation. Martian Luther among others developed their biblical theology over their life times.

  • *ever again.

  • *As of 2003-2005, I attended at a Lutheran Brethren church. They switch doctrine of Holy Spirit conviction. To making an individual believe that when the congregation is having the last supper. They teach that were are literally having the blood of Christ and that when one drinks the cup. Their sin guilt is removed. Compared to the Holy Ghost removing the guilt... I will never go to a new age church ever age.

  • This video shows why context is so important. It takers Luther out of context. At the time of the 95 thesis Luther was still a Catholic hoping to reform the Catholic church. His theology was still in development at this time

  • Martin Luther was a 34-year-old Roman Catholic monk when he posted his 95 theses. What this preacher does not understand is that the Martin Luther who rebuked the Roman church and taught salvation by grace through faith was older and wiser than the young protester. Was Luther "saved" when he wrote those theses? Maybe, maybe not. But when he wrote five years later, "That is why faith alone makes someone just and fulfills the law," it would seem he was a lover of God's gospel.

  • This is what happens when "pastors" choose to remain ignorant of the history of Protestantism. The 95 Theses were not intended by Luther to be anything more than a rebuke on the misuse of indulgences. But this little 'snowball' turned into a huge avalanche. This did not end with Luther (nor begin with him, either), but it helped pave-the-way for the whole of the Reformation. Remember, these were men who's consciences had very much been 'seared' by Roman Catholicism for many years prior.

  • Yeah okay, I guess Martin Luther didn't know what he was doing. (sarcasm) Even from a historical standpoint, not even a doctrinal one, Martin Luther changed the world with those 95 thesis.

  • @gettalong123 there were already christians getting killed and murdered for reading the bible and preaching Before martin luther was even born. he did a good thing standing against the evil powers of false religion, but it didn't change the catholic church at all, they are still the same today, just as successful. the ones who made the difference in the world were the ones out preaching a dying in the name of christ, for jesus. Luhter was just a man who realized what the christians were saying

  • Luther did in fact have some serious problems with his theses, but he was still a part of the roman catholic church when he wrote them. His conversion was not yet complete.

  • This video is kind of a waste of breath, because no one (including Lutherans) actually accepts the 95 Theses as doctrinal.

But yeah, Martin Luther was flawed. It's just pointless to look at the 95 Theses to prove it.

  • You would not be preaching if it were not for the work of the Lord through Luther.

  • exactly...this guy is a presumptuous bastard

  • amen to that.

  • Wow.

It's almost like this "preacher" has no understanding of he history of the reformation or the most basic understanding of the life of Martin Luther. The much much Lessor hates the much much Greater.

  • Ignorance and arrogance... Pride goeth before a fall..

  • I want to know what Luther believed about ten years after this.

We have all had error that we have been corrected of.

  • I have to agree with this pastor. I have always wonder if those who look up to Martin Luther have actually read the 95 Theses.

  • mbrain9,

He HAS NO credentials. In fact, he has preached that it is 'unscriptural' to attend Bible College, let alone a Seminary. He is doing a great disservice to other Christians who have actually taken the time to study scripture and make sure it is used in context. You can find most of it on his 'church' (not a church in my estimation) website. Be sure to watch "He who pisseth against the wall" by Anderson. It's a travesty what he did to that verse................

  • I think I agree. I think this guy likes to hear himself speak.

May God have more mercy than this man does.

  • Just when I think I can no longer be surprised by anything this man does, he attacks Martin Luther. THIS IS WHY he needs to attend a Seminary... or at the very least a good Bible school/University. He hates Catholics, Jews, other Baptists.... ad nauseum. Yet, he doesn't really know why. He doesn't think he needs a education about the history of Christianity. Pure arrogance

If he wants to act like a jackass, that's fine, but he shouldn't be around anyone whom he could influence.

  • Luther was heavily influence by the unbiblical teachings of rome and this was just the beginning of his rebellion against their teaching. The man was just beginning to reform his thinking. I guess we need to declare every new convert to Christ not saved because he does not know every great truth of God's word.

  • Martin Luther was a man who was used by God. Yes, for reform in his time.

My question to this preacher would be: Where is Christ in your message? Is He in your tearing down of another man's work? Instead of focusing on how Martin Luther was wrong, teach your flock how to be right with God! Look to the Bible as your source. He is the standard, not any man, or man's works.

  • Did this guy go Semiary??? Surely he knows that the this is a list of items he wanted to DEBATE? He is also one of the most sarcastic writers in history. These are the people who give Christianity a bad name..

  • I guess that is one of the evils of seminary... becoming smarter and learning the context of texts and situations so that you can properly communicate the truth to people. What a tool of the enemy this guy is.

  • Additionally, the whole point of the theses were to bring up discussion on how he thought indulgences were wrong and being exploited. Additionally, you must realize that this is Luther's FIRST act against the catholic church. He did not set out initially to break from it. He set out to, (hey this is novel) REFORM IT. He was setting out to change the way the church operated, thought, and viewed Christ and faith, and works, etc. If you want to read what this led him to, read his later writings.

  • Wow! Does this guy even know how to read the 95 theses? Since it does not seem so, let me shed some light on it for him. they are divided up into 3 sections. the first are the points of information that are being used to sell the indulgences. the second section is where he refutes these points and urges christians to approach them cautiously. the third section is where he asks questions that will be brought up in the discussion that will follow the posting.

  • It is unbelievable this guy has anyone following him, but I guess, if people will believe Mormonism, they will believe anything.

  • Does he understand what Justification is? Saved by Grace through faith. It was not an attack rather reform. What would happen without Lutherans Lutheran, without Luther--> Antibaptist, Reform movements and even the calvinistic movements could not happen. Does he have any theological and pastoral training. He obviously has no training or study,he's such an idoit. Go to seminary idiot!

I rather drink pure blood with the papist then sip mere grape juice with idiots.

  • Also why are you defending Steve Anderson? Are you idolizing him? see we can keep going like this for ages but where is the documentaion or sources for calling Luther a heretic? His 95 Thesis was as a new convert his theology was not mature. But that's usually how it is with all Christians. You learn and grow in Christ. I hold the Scriptures to be my highest authority but you cannot prove Luther was a heretic from Scripture so I have to rely on history and Luther's own writings, not Steve's!!!!

  • I do not worship Luther but i do understand that he was a man used by God. And He was not a Rosicrucian (not Rosacrucian)! There is no evidence for that accusation. it is just an attempt to deiscredit him. People calim Steve Anderson is a rapist but that is just an acuusation that i think is wrong. i certainly don't like the man but unless there is evidence to support the calim i will not believe it! Back to Luther have you ever read his commentaries? It is very exegetical. and Christ centered!

  • Yes the bible was given by the Holy Spirit but mr. Anderson here does not teach on the Bible- he gives speeches and rants about godly men! When he does attempt to preach on a text, he butchers it!!!!

  • "All the passages in the Holy Scriptures that mention assistance are they that do away with "free-will", and these are countless...For grace is needed, and the help of grace is given, because "free-will" can do nothing."

    270 Martin Luther

Sir, Martin Luther has more substance in one of his paragraphs in his book The Bondage of the Will, than all 25 of your messages that i've listened to combined!!!

  • "Even grammarians and schoolboys on street corners know that nothing more is signified by verbs in the imperative mood than what ought to be done, and that what is done or can be done should be expressed by words in the indicative. How is it that you theologians are twice as stupid as schoolboys, in that as soon as you get hold of a single imperative verb you infer an indicative meaning, as though the moment a thing is commanded it is done, or can be done? pg 159 Martin Luther TBW

  • Let all the 'free-will' in the world do all it can with all its strength; it will never give rise to a single instance of ability to avoid being hardened if God does not give the Spirit, or of meriting mercy if it is left to its own strength." p. 202 Martin Luther The bondage of the Will

  • This congregation church should vote this guy out. Let the congregationists do what they do best to this guy-kick 'im out. Is this all this guy does-make arguments? Baptist faith is definitely not the utopian faith.

  • Well you are and you arn't. You have to understand Luther's life in the context of changing beliefs. When Luther wrote the 95 thesis he was still very Roman Catholic but was protesting indulgences. When the church refused to hear him out on that he was then spurred by the Holy Spirit to re-examine all of the doctrines he was taught.

  • If this guy did some research he would know that Luther changed his views quite a bit after he wrote the 95 thesis. The 95 thesis where not the doctrine Luther taught, they where a protest of a still Catholic monk (Luther) on indulgences. The 95 thesis kicked off the reformation but did not rule it. I'm a Lutheran and I own a copy of our founding documents (book of concord) and the 95 thesis doesn't even appear and never has. Do some research before preaching.

  • In all fairness Martin Luther was a dick to jews.

  • lol. ya, he was a real dick to them

  • Everything not from Jesus is heresy. But that would make the entire Bible false since people not Jesus wrote it... a paradox...

  • @graysonbr

look up the 95 thesis. he is reading them correctly. apparently Martin Luther had beliefs that are no longer part of mainstream Lutheranism.

This preacher is out of line saying that Martin Luther was not Christian John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Martin Luther dedicated his life to living this. Having incorrect theological beliefs does not damn anyone to hell

  • This bunk....Luther did not teach heresy... justification by faith is truly recovered by as well as did Zwngli and Hubmaier..........but he did not have a Jewish orientation of the faith.

  • and this is why I'm a Humanities student...

  • I love when Indy-Fundy "preachers" use Hymns to make a doctrinal point. I listened to this for most of my life. Are you preaching from the Bible or your Hymn book?

  • Reformed Protestants are rather different from Lutherans...

  • Wow all this comments agree that this guy is an idiot. I read almost everything luther ever wrote and he misunderstands the spirit of luthers thesis. He was being diplomatic hoping the pope would exonerate his views. This guy dont liek luther cos luther would have hated baptist doctrines which didnt exist at that time cos no one made them up until the 17th century. cheerio.

  • 1 Cor 3:13-16 Every man's work shall be manifest. For the day of the Lord shall declare it, because it shall be revealed in fire. And the fire shall try every man's work, of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide, which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work burn, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire". If this isn't purgatory what is it?

  • This pastor is speaking from a misinformed position. When held to the proper theological context, the Theses make sense. This pastor has some difficulty with historical reference. He means well, but his research and preaching could be self-serving. Denegrating other Christians and judging them is a dangerous path to take, especially for the misinformed. I hope this pastor does a better job of interpreting the Bible. All that we can do is pray for this pastor; that he may seek and gain wisdom.

  • idolitry my ass. Catholics don't bow down to idols you frigging idiots. They have statues and such - so the fuch what. Their savoir is Jesus Christ. I'm against all religons cause all of you idiots blast each other with half ass lies and bullshit.

  • Martin Luther influenced the translation of the King James Bible. Without Luther, the history of the Bible would be different.

  • This guy doesn't know the doctrines he mocks.

Only muslims and (most) protestants belive hell is a place of actual physical torture.

    Judaism and catholics don't.

Jews never argued with Jesus about hell and they belived it was a place of ethernal shame (the very thing a practicing jew fears the most). It was obvious the physical descriptions were all figures of language.

  • This idiot should do research on the history of the 95 Theses before he attempts to talk about them. Of course as judgemental as this "sermon" is I believe he forgot the verse "Judge not lest ye be judged".

  • you need to do more time studying and less/no time preaching.......your misinterpretation of the bible is searing your conscience

  • If this guy understood 9 and 10, this whole thing wouldn't have been preached. This is a Baptist who desperately wants to not be tied to the reformation...

  • False teacher--run fast why do preach lies- You are Satans tool

  • he is judas indeed

  • An amazing theological genius of unprecedented historical value and originality and greatness, or an exhibition of painful selfrightious narcistic ignorance.

    Take your pick !

Who ever allowed HIM to mount a pullpit ?

  • lol

  • LOL!!! at 5:01 even the baby who starts crying knows this man's preaching is bad! trying to knock Calvinism! :(

  • Sir (to the man in the video), do you know how to do research? This is absurd. As was said earlier, Luther's theology evolved over the years. Have you read any of his other writings? Do you know history? I'm sorry, but I say these things to let you know...you really messed up here. It's difficult for anyone with a knowledge of Luther and his life and theology to take you seriously. You do need to reevaluate your position. And yes, repent. This is just plain dumb.

  • it is almost as if he is doing a parody on ignorant preachers

  • Without the boldness of this men that you are attacking, who are able to walk through fire, face the lions, who in the name of Christ and for the Word lay down their lives for the elect's sake where will Christianity be or its influence in this world. Look at that bible in your hand, at least be thankful you are able to open them now without fear.

  • so true!

  • wow, somebody greater than Luther

  • yep. wow! and we already know that he is greater than Calvin.

  • An idiot trying to act smart

  • Mr. Anderson, please review the Book of Concord that includes all of the Lutheran confessions to understand the complete teachings of Luther. Luther believed in "Real Presence" ( Christ being present in a mysterious way) which is not transubstantiation as Rome promotes. You and Luther would agree for the most part eschatologicaly speaking. Anyway I appreciate your burden for souls and your stand on the A.V. I concur with you on those two issues.

  • Mr. Anderson, you have said some things with which I've disagreed, but this is by far the most legalistic and monstrously inaccurate piece of work thus far. Surely you knew that Luther's theology evolved over the years? That he denounced the papacy, purgatory, tradition, etc? I do not mean to sound harsh, but you are preaching lies--whether unintentional or not--to your congregation, of which you must repent. God's blessings.

  • The 95 theses were written to oppose the false teachings in the Church.

Martin Luther did not promote the things you said he did. He opposed them. He was used greatly of God. You need to know what you are talking about before you get in the pulpit and ridicule a great man of God,

You should not pull one line sentences out of a theses to make an inaccurate point.

  • I most certainly agree. Here I stand, I can do no other!

  • This preacher is so full of himself and his pulling things out of historical context. He certainly believes that he can work himself into heaven. This preacher has no understanding of the movement of the Holy Spirit and how God used Martin Luther to begin a movement towards reforming the church. He also has no understanding of Holy Scripture and where Martin Luther got his arguments at that time. I am sure he believes that he will be the only one in heaven.

  • Exactly. Luther wasn't like Calvin, who came on the scene with his theology more or less already complete; Luther's thought evolved over time. A mere three years after writing the Theses, Luther officially recanted his former allowances for popes and indulgences. Protestants admire the Theses not for all the fine details of its doctrinal content, but for what they symbolize: bold opposition to that which is contrary to the Spirit of Christ.

  • I'm a Christian, but this presentation is the best argument for atheism I have ever seen. The distance between this and His reality is WIDE!

  • Almost 500 years ago the Anabaptist peasants in Germany misinterpreted Luther's inflammatory words against the Pope to be a call to armed revolution. Is it any real surprise that their red-headed stepchildren fail to rightly discern Luther's words, as well?
