This is the 2008, version of SYNC. Things have changed a lot since then. Most of the kinks have been worked out. I have an 09 Ford Fusion with Sync 2.0. I also have a Zune and the majority of my songs have been purchased online or ripped from CD's.

Anybody know if SYNC is in 2009 fusion SE?

It has the phone button that i assume would be used for syncing but it doesn't pick up my iphone (yes i have bluetooth on) and it doesn't pick up. I know thats how it works for 2008 and 2010 but i can't find jack on 2009, or wether or not sync is specific to SEL in 2009.

ugh somebody help me! i have the new 2009 fusion and i just got the 2nd generation itouch and its not working very well. I had previously a zen and it worked great, until it died. But now with the itouch its having issues and i dont know how to fix it. When it plays a song sometimes the volume wont work but the timer is running like the song is playing. I dont know whats wrong with it! (yes the volume is on, in the car and on the ipod). Also i dont get the cool little ford logo on my ipod screen

Just FYI, firmware version 1.1 solves the problem of having to say "USB" everytime the car is turned back on. Not much else has been added to sync (despite having been out for a year).

The Sync II system will be much improved in some areas over the Sync I system, but the Fusion isn't going to get the Sync II system until the Fusions redesign in 2010.

People have there own opinions about cars. the fusion is more like a sports car while the camry is an average car.

i thnk both cars are good and reliable i have a friend who owns a camry and another owning the fusion. they both like there car and stuff.

it depends on what you like.

and the reliablilty crap both cars are reliable it just depend on how you drive the car. if you give it regular maintainence it; last.

but if you just abuse it, will itll just suck later on.

My dad had one for a rental car and he said it was worthless. the engine had no power. he said you press the gas and it has to rev totally high just to get going slightly faster. And the handling was less stable than a retard on rollar blades. buy a toyota camry instead. you gotta roll japanese. they way longer and are mor reliable.

I own a 2008 Fusion SEL AWD and I would put it up against a Toyota Camry in handling anyday. The Camry suspension is tuned like a Buick. The Fusion is based on the Mazda6 chassis. There is no Toyota in the world that will out handle a Mazda.

The Fusion has no power? It has plenty of power for a family sedan. 221HP in the V6 version is enough for me and most consumers. Please find me a 221HP electric scooter. Take some time to read what Consumer Reports has said about the Fusion and it's quality. You are just showing your hatred against an American product. You claim Ford stands for found on road dead, however I have driven thousands and thousands of trouble free miles in a Ford. Real experience matters more then an opinion.

To the best of my knowledge, most car rental places bought the 4-chylinder fusions. Those are slow on the gas but the v6 ones are completly a different story. As for handling, last time I saw a camry try to take a curve at 60 mph, it was leaning like, well, "retard on rollar blades". I drove both before I bought a fusion and it was by far the better ride. All i have to say is that consumer reports is fixed. "EPA estimated fule mileage of 28 highway" I get 34

To get what I got on a fusion, it would have been $2,000-$3,000 more on a camry. It's got all the luxury you could want. Why should a company suffer when it's making good cars now for some mistakes they made in the past? Are you saying that ford's past cars didn't serve their purpose? Actually, GM is leaps and bounds away from the nearest competition in terms of technology, including fuel efficiency and alternative fuel. Ford is also making some great progress. The new Fusion is a perfect example, 41 MPG, more than any other car in its class. As for Chrysler, I really can't say. I'm a little worried about them.
