Watching and listening, I teared up. The song, and the entire, "The Rising," album, are brilliant, the work of a genius.

And the images add enormously to the effect; the student's choice of this song was a wonderful idea, and he or she implemented it in an A+ way.

I am offended by the, revengeful, hate of the, "we're-going-to-kick-somebody'­s, anybody's, ass -we're-the-red,-white, & blue," of Toby Keith, and others.

In contrast, this treats the memory of those lost with dignity and respect.

This song was used as a backdrop for images of Tim Russert this weekend follwing his sudden death yesterday. A younger Russert reportedly booked an unknown Springsteen to a college gig years before the boss became famous. They were friends ever since.
