The same can be said for this core trend. It shares many similarities with metal but it's a different style of music. @cadrums Djent is a style of music. And alot of Deathcore bands don't play fast, compaired to Death Metal. I personally hate Djent just because it is so trendy but Djent is done by alot of Deathcore bands. It is also stupid to say that us Deathcore drummers just try to go as fast as we possibly can, when if I did that I would get off beat but I play as fast as I can on beat. I also hate anything below 100 bpm because everyone is trying to go too slow, I find it very stupid to play to that tempo.

@elsantoshadow I am a fan of both deathcore and death metal, so I agree with you to some extent... but let me put it this way: Just because something is the future of metal doesn't mean it's good or that it's good for metal. For example, a bunch of post-hardcore bands are out there popularizing their version of metal, which is very watered down and requires a low amount of skill to play. I see where you're coming from though.. it's not like I go and post my opinions on AA or WCAR videos.

@gatorben13 FACE IT. It's done. There are few bands in that genre that are actually making any noise and carry any stage presence. It's true. I don't want it to happen, but it will. It'll probably become something new, but deathcore on the whole is just about finished.

@elsantoshadow I respect Oceano and Whitechapel, but you are NOT going to blatantly insult Death Metal. Bands like Emmure and Chelsea Grin are why Deathcore needs to iron out quite a few bugs before it takes any sort of leading position in metal. Also, if Deathcore is the future of metal, then why did Job for a Cowboy, the band who started (arguably) Deathcore get sick of it after ONE album and play Death Metal? Why is Whitechapel becoming less "core"? Because Death Metal is better.

@DecimateTheTyrant Okay, well take Black Sabbath for example. We acknowledge them as being the original fathers of metal yet we don't put Black Sabbath under the genre of metal. The same can be said for this core trend. It shares many similarities with metal but it's a different style of music. Metal will continue to remain underground while core will only rise in popularity. Somehow bands like suicide silence and Attack Attack are getting on warped tour and summer slaughter.

@cadrums Djent is a style of music. And alot of Deathcore bands don't play fast, compaired to Death Metal. I personally hate Djent just because it is so trendy but Djent is done by alot of Deathcore bands. It is also stupid to say that us Deathcore drummers just try to go as fast as we possibly can, when if I did that I would get off beat but I play as fast as I can on beat. I also hate anything below 100 bpm because everyone is trying to go too slow, I find it very stupid to play to that tempo.

Although it started out as an onomatopoetic word, it has evolved to be the title of syncopated, groovy, progressive music. Even if it wasn't originally a title of a genre, that's what it has become, so accept it.
