  • I guess if it's your thing then it's your thing but damn that's a fucking ugly bass. If I were given it I would just hope to find an idiot willing to give me money for it.

  • Hey man great cover.. but as an experienced bass player you need to slow down and get each of those hammerons with their own thumpy sound. you smashed them all together. But nice rhythm.

  • Nice AXE!

  • gene simmons bass AND emg's ... you fucking idiot

  • "][" {[]} {[]} "|__ <3

  • fuck yeah!!! great job!

  • when i get this bass ill keep it beside my bed and chop anybody who trys to rob my house head off

  • Yes! Tool played on a KISS bass! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • bass mu tu... bazing bodoh!!!

  • Yeah, sounds cool, but it will die in a mix.

  • Whoever does not like your bassline,..you chop there head off lol

  • I've heard that this bass is pretty... er, terrible :s How do you find it? Cool cover anyway...

  • @Arachnidius: Thank you for your comment! To me, this bass is so fun to play. The stock electronics sound real nice in the bedroom, but in a live band situation the tone gets buried very easily. I put an EMG PJ set on mine and that made a lot of a difference. Also, the bass is pretty uncomfortable to play due to the strap pin location. A Steinberger Synapse strap hook is a terrific solution to that problem. This bass isn't meant to be played whilse seated, BTW.

  • @Alvabass Well that sounds good, it's just I've heard some quite negative reviews of it. I've got a Cort bass myself, a C5. It's really great for the price, Corts are highly underrated imo :)

  • @Arachnidius Seems more like a novelty than an actually playable instrument.

Frankly, I don't thing that any self respecting metal player would even bother with this thing.

  • Good cover man :) Keep up the good work :) oh, and nice bass! Sounds good :D

  • Oh man that bass is...really something else.

  • I think I just found Jimmy Page's long lost brother...

  • Fantastic my friend

    Lots of passion

  • Nice "Axe" Man!

  • I would go for the sound.. not for the look

Trying to tell it sounds shit

  • @RamonVerheijen yeah very cool played, but that bass is such stupid thing

  • WHY??????????

  • Well played but, that bass is a monstrosity

  • Lots of mistakes...

  • love the bass!!!

  • THIS GUY USES THE AXE BASS GENE SIMMONS LIKE UKELELE...!! MAN PLEASE, YOU PLAY METAL, !! JAJAJAJJA

  • Your cover is awesome dude. I like the embellishments you've added your own. Cool use of effects and a gnarly bass. Good job!

  • Your bass is an axe. Regardless of what you sound like, the video is immediately awesome.

  • SICK BASS BRO!!

  • Cool

  • i dont know whats better. the hair or the bass

  • theres only to bass and lead singers i know gean simmons and me its fucking hard

  • @Intersurge

Tom Araya(Slayer), Lemmy Kilmister(Motörhead), Geddy Lee(Rush), Phil Lynott(Thin Lizzy), Paul McCartney, Jack Bruce(Cream), and the almighty master of playing near-impossible bass lines while singing; Les Claypool(Primus).

Check them out if you really haven't heard of any of them before. :)

  • @Alvabass is this a good bass for acdc ,motley crue,metallica,rise agaisnt,tool,

  • you look like neil peart

  • how many bass guitars do you have

cause so far I've counted 3

  • @shurdi3: Currently eight bass guitars. Thank you for your comment!

  • @Alvabass Currently?

what do you plan to get more?

  • @shurdi3: I have a 100% custom bass on order from last year and hopefully I'll have it with me in a few months. Also, recently I've been thinking of buying a cheap violin style bass for a Beatles tribute band I'm rehearsing with. Although I have a FireGlo Rickenbacker 4003, I don't think it's as heavily associated with The Beatles image as the Hofner violin bass.

  • @Alvabass awesome

and once you get either one

YOU HAVE TO MAKE A VIDEO WITH THEM!!!

also good luck with the band and hope it arrives soon

  • sounds good except i hate the shape it would be so uncomfortable

  • sounds great.... congratulations... where did you get the notes? I would like to try playing it too...

  • @pablitomartin7

    ultimate-guitar

  • @pablitomartin7 or better yet, tooltabs. net

  • it's like Gene Simmons' Bass!! (CORT AXE)

  • That bass is so awesome!

  • Good job man and great bass thinking bout picking it up

  • This bass doesnt sound bad at all.

The Punisher has just been unveiled at Namm.

Its also coming out this year with the same hardware.

Please let us know how the sound is with real EMG p/u, must hear it !

  • @pece33: Thank you for your comment! You can hear the bass with upgraded electronics (EMG PJ set) in my latest video. :^)

  • Hey you should make a video demonstrating the EMG set you put in!

  • @sarcogram720: I'm working on it, man. Thank you for your comment!

  • Great playing as always. But I want to see you redo this song on your T-40!!

  • KISS!!!!!!!!

  • Which pickup is it on?

Btw, you should do another video with a full demo of the bass.

  • @sarcogram720: On this video, the bass has the stock electronics, a set of PJ Mighty Mite pickups. Last week I replaced them for an EMG PJ set and the difference in a band context is simply overwhelming. I'm planning a new video showing the result of this modification. Thank you one more time!

  • You truly have an axe to grind. Great video; thumbs up all the way!

  • Very good!!! Is it just the bass direct in, or is it with an amp??? Also, which pickup was it on???

  • Very good!!! Is it just the bass direct in, or is it with an amp???

  • @sarcogram720. Thank you for your comment! The bass is plugged to my Kustom KBA30 practice amp, and the line out signal goes direct from the amp to my PC sound card.

  • yes!!! nice man!!

  • YEAH, i like it like it ¡¡¡¡

  • Excelente como todos sus videos maestro, Un abrazo !!!

  • I love the bass up front like that, but I don't know how you feel so secure with the tune volume so low. I have to use headphones! I would not play that bass sitting down if I were you!

  • @solowbass: Oh, of course it was much louder whan I played it, man. The thing is, the sound you hear is not the ambient audio track from the camera, but the direct signal from my practice amp to my PC sound card, which is being recorded simultaneously. When I'm done, I add the background music to that recording by means of a multitrack session created with Adobe Audition. (continued...)

  • @solowbass: When I mix both tracks, I make sure that my bass is really up front. Then I bounce the tracks to a single wave file and then replace the video's ambient audio with the "studio" mix. Thank you one more time for your kind comments! :^).

  • Epic man, and amazing bass :)

  • amazing playing amazing bass

  • I love this guy but that is the gayest bass i have ever seen

  • Wow this is a very good!

A very different genre that you've stepped into - I like it!

  • Kick ass

  • Just a tip, from 4:40 to 5:12, try sliding into the notes as you raise the volume.

  • Great job, and sweet new bass, friend! That's what #5? Besides the fretted and fretless Bongos, Steinberger, and Rickenbacker? Or am I missing one?

  • @lasteffect: Thank you so much, man! This is the seventh one. You missed my Peavey T-40 (used for my "Lemon Song", "Cupid's Dead" and "Is This Love" videos) and my electric-acoustic bass (featured in my "Goin' Blind" video). :^)

  • @Alvabass I forgot about those two. I forgot also to say that the solo part was good. I liked the non-whammy sound. I have a Digitech Whammy, the red one, and It's pretty cool, but I recently removed it from my current setup though. I just can't find other reasons to use it besides tool stuff.

  • Great vid, I'd love to pick up an 80's Kramer axe bass, but tough to find. My Digitech Effects unit has a pretty decent Wammy effect, selectable for use with the built on pedal. I've owned all 4 versions of the bass Zoom pedals, and have found them great tools for practice without upsetting the neighbors. The Pandora unit is great too. Look forward to the next vid.

  • de a donde sacaste esa hacha jajaja !!!! es broma ....que sonido tan bestial el de ese bajo!!

  • man that was sick. congrat's, you are a REAL BASS PLAYER!

  • incredible! great tone, sounds just like the recording.
