  • lmao i love her !

  • OMG at the ending lmfaooooo

  • that people look like the ones in history channel's American Pickers (i mean in the hoarder sense of the phrase)

  • 2:18 goddess bunny

  • Story of my life. I have family that live gummo, and worse.

  • i love how sully put the roll of tape on his right wrist.... ya know for a lil extra weight.

    great workout music !!!

  • wtf is this movie about? looks fucking disturbing...

  • that bitch is crazy

  • and WTF?! @ 3:32 ! hahahah

  • lol awkward ass movie

  • I felt bad wen I seen this scene, lifting spoons O_o

  • I lived in central USA for two decades - the scariest time of my life. The film GUMMO comes closest to the mindset of the area I have ever seen. It's like falling down the rabbit's hole, a cesspool of ignorance. religion, crime AND brain damage.

  • @t4705mb6 No. This is meant to be a hyper-exaggeration of the poor. You've just proven your own skewed perception of the poor, your hyper-exaggerated viewpoint. You see them as dirty and ignorant. But there is a lot of anger in this film, as these people ARE smart enough to know they're in a deep hole. For those of us who realize this, this film is sad to watch. For others, it merely cements their prejudice/disgust. We all have the same potential.

  • @grapebusted I was relating what I found in that area of the country when I lived there from 1982 to 2009. I expressed what I actually experienced. I am not only a world traveler but have resided in the US in ALL sections of the country. (I also have a background in psychology.)

People in the that particular area of the country have a habit of saying, "People are the same everywhere!", which, without doubt, they absolutely are not.

  • @t4705mb6 Well, while I'm impressed with your unrelated experiences, my opinion still stands. This film is hyper-exaggeration, an artistic rendering of a poor class of people. It's natural to want to "connect" to characters in films. However, in this one, we're repelled and drawn in at the same time, leaving us in this surreal neutrality. Anyhow, if we're tooting our horns here, I too, have a background in psychology. I also have an 8" penis if that matters. You're awfully old for such games...

  • @grapebusted "Unrelated"? You are trolling the internet for victims and a pompous ass.

  • @t4705mb6 Yes. Unrelated. I didn't ask for your resume. I don't care. No one cares. Your perception is skewed. Get objective. End of discussion. Frankly, you seem to be the one trolling. Now, leave me be.

  • @grapebusted the stuff you said is so true, about how they reralise theyre in the deep hole and that is why the film is sad.. also the stuff about being repelled and drawn in at the same time, leaving us in a surreal neutrality.. very true.. well put

  • Hard to believe his mom was the sweet young girl from "Days of Heaven." Linda Manz, why weren't you in more films? The length of your filmography is too small when compared to your talent.

  • @Guigley

Haha I just recently saw "Days of Heaven" and thought the same thing.

  • I never understood how a movie with a shoe string budget managed to get Madonna to clear Like A Prayer for them. Mad skills right there.

  • @CaliforniaJoker1 you call 1.3 mil a shoe-string budget?

  • @CaliforniaJoker1 Probably half the buget went to Madonna lol

  • everytime I hear her say "he put up the mirror" I can't help but think "everybody had, matching towels"

  • @xshabootiex hehehe... "everybody had matching towels" yeah that does work for some reason.

  • This film has to be the finest display of American exceptionalism.

  • The only strange thing about this clip for me, was the fact that he taped spoons and forks together to make weights. Other than that it was just a mum being silly.

  • great clip.

  • He keeps up the curls with that weight and he'll be up to 75lbs in no time!

  • This, above all the other ones, was the scene where I actually wondered to myself "What the fuck am I watching?".

  • Comment removed

  • can someone make a loop gif from the last ten seconds of this vid?

  • Aw . Cool mum/

  • favorite scene

  • that bitch is disgusting!

  • @JoseBerry

She is amazing...linda manz is a unique actress, just saw her in "the wanderers" shes like tatum oneil and nancy mckeon!

  • @frenchfrye2000 I think that she was a natural actress but I do that you said me, but i like it so much a movie when she has an "elvis" jacket, she look very young, is that movie The Wandereres"???

  • @JoseBerry no, that's 'out of the blue' by dennis hopper. she still talks the same way

  • @JoseBerry No , it's in Dennis Hopper's Out Of The Blue .

  • dads old taps...

  • 3:32 onwards is the best bit.

  • A great scene from one of my favourite films.

  • korine's dad was a tap dancer.... hmmmmm

  • no movie is like gummo. harmoney korine is an out of this world artist.

  • I think his mom was high on something..

  • i feel wrong...

  • The Fuck?

  • Out of everything in the movie, this disturbs me the least. And that's scary.

  • That woman wearing those tap dancing shoes and dancing around like that is one of the most obscene and sickening things. It's just gross.

  • @951hemet Lmmfao! If U Want A Kid Like That Go Fuck Your Sister. I Nearly Died Laughing. Lol

  • 951hemet

  • what the fuck is wrong with this movie this shit will fuck me up in the head this shit scares the shit out of me

  • Me and my girlfriend at the time stayed at a motel for a few days in Xenia, while visiting her friend.

  • that kids ugly enough to knock the cheese off a baboons ass at a thousand yards.

  • I could feel the love between them

  • what the fuck

  • WHAT IS THIS WEIRD MOVIE ABOUT

  • @stevepwn i watched it once and i can tell you i dont know

  • I love this movie, much like Eraserhead. Where the only correct interpretation is whatever you think it is.

  • his mom is probably the most normal person in the movie.

  • @Verooo777 How about the boys selling candy?

  • @Daralici0us So basically youre trashing a movie that you havent even seen? Do yourself a favor and GTFO.

  • *sense and this movie owns your sorry ass

  • linda manz forever

  • somthin about the music fits in soo well with the scene

  • @15brandon15 the music is fuckin amazing lol XD

  • I loved this scene. You could actually feel the love between these two.

  • i know they really love each other, but their just so fucked in the head......great movie....

  • i just popped a pill after watching this...

  • "Dad's old taps"

  • I think the mom's a pretty good dancer :)

  • i love this part hahahha

  • Hahahaha, eww, that kid is...structured weirdly. I love thie part, though, his mom's neck thing was hilarious. Haha, I can't stop laughing every time I see it.

  • why does it seem like so many ghetto white people are victims of compulsive hoarding.

  • Lol the ones I know are. They seem to hoard canned pasta and bullets/ammo.I don't get the connection.I must be middle class,I hoard smoked salmon, sushi vinegar,National Geographics,Indy CD's.

  • they said he was blessed with the gift of tap.

  • it was reported that the first words out of david lynch's mouth after having seen this film was "wow, that movie was fucking odd."

if you can manage weird out david lynch you know your doing something right.

  • This escene and the part of the bunny whit the ""Cowboys"" are my favorites

    Long life for GUMMO?!?!?!?!

  • i want linda manz to be my mom..!

  • Luv this movie! Solomon's mom is jus being a typical mom tryin to make her baby smile. Pretty sure most of our moms do

  • That woman was cast because of a role she played in a 1978 movie called Days of Heaven. If you watch that movie you would get it. If you dont then shut your yap and watch Dancing with the stars.

  • this looks weird

  • This scene shows so much about these two's relationship. It shows how lost they felt after the father's death. It shows how much she loves her son. It does more than just illustrate it, you can just feel it between the characters. She loves him so much, and he her. This and the bathtub scene get it just right I think. I've always been very impressed by the fact that such a tiny and simple scene can show so much.

  • if i had a giant mirror in my basement

i would do the exact same thing

  • I love this scene.

  • whats wrong with him?

  • real legit indy movie... i really liked it because im a huge indy fan but i dont think most people would like it... great movie!!

  • Inbreds are funny.

  • Movie is distrubing BUT has some awesome awesome scenes! DIE RABBIT DIE!

  • That boys head is unsettling like Bill Lamar.

    Its strange

I know i should really like this

    But i dont.

It seems like the kind of movie that fans of Juno get reccomended from their older siblings and to seem mature they like it.

Its just not anything. Doesnt make me happy or sad. Didnt take a lot of time. Just like plain bread. Fucking weird.

Quite the accomplishment really. Never had a movie do that before.

  • this film is so real...

  • you would be surprised, I grew up in in places where things like this happen

  • You grew up in places where people taped bacon to the wall of their bathrooms?

  • seriously? we should swap stories sometime

  • @ReptilianShapeshifte

yeah-i know of these places too

  • This is strangely epic and awesome

  • it depends on what kind of person you are to understand the mother like it or not she's just a mom tryin to make her son laugh wile dealin with the death of a person she loved and lost (his father) she see's that he's drifting far away from him and she does'nt know what else to do but tell stories about his father talk about daily life and try to make her son laugh.....in the end gummo's mom is the most normal person in this movie

  • the last ten seconds is hilarious.

  • Fuck you, dude. Your idea of a great movie is probably something like Transformers cause theres explosions and CGI.

  • harmony korine is a druggie wanna be goddard freak.

  • his mum is some fucked up drug addict by the looks of it

  • y is he taping spoons toegther

  • because he's making weights out of them

  • makeshift dumbells

  • what a happy family :]

  • I hate the last 7 seconds of that scene. Thats the part of the movie i hated.

  • I love how disturbed Madonna seems in the context of this scene.

  • fucken goofy...

  • This scene is David Lynch with more camera movement (LOL).

  • "Look at your shoulder. The way it raises and gets smaller, raises and gets smaller" LOL

  • "Your gonna stunt your growth with those things" LOL

  • that's a cool mum

  • i have watch this movie when i was BAKED as hell! and thats the time id would watch it

  • when i first saw this movie i was like "what the fuck am i watching?"

but when it finished i ended up really liking it

    >_>

  • if you want a kid like that... fuck your sister!

    :]

haha eww, dont do it. im kidding

  • This movie is so disturbing that you have to keep watching. I don't get the point in this movie one bit but this is something I could really watch if I was baked

  • fantastico...

  • the mom's voice always gets me for some reason

  • That mom is on some serious DMT or some shit....fucking WACK...that movie has scarred me for life... I'm staying out of the midwest PERMANENTLY...

  • lol haha

  • it takes place in Ohio,... last i checked thats the midwest...

  • i guess it is in the midwest than is this movie telling us that the U.S. is one big hick country

  • I live in Michigan and I personally know people like this.

  • I live in Ohio, not far from Xenia. And i definitely know people like this.

  • I drove through Ohio once- once. After driving through miles of flat farmland, I encountered a sign that said 'Xenia'. I almost stopped.

  • This movie was shot in Tennessee, the movie says that it takes place in Ohio.

  • @bellona6356 Film it. Please!

  • @dayidify Well I know individuals similar but no one near this fanfuckingtastic.

  • @bellona6356 damn for real?!?

  • @cRaZyTRimZ dont listen to em. i live in cleveland and its not this weird at all... there is a select few but not many.

  • @bellona6356 SWEET

  • @bellona6356 really?? It's hard for me to believe that anyone could live like that...

  • some of these kids have been in tons of movies...there not just regular people. (although alot of them are)

  • I can't really figure out what the point of this scene is. The movie is filled with racial and sexual connotations and i sort of feel like this is a play on the old black face sketches. fuckin movie is crazy though

  • i think its about incest

  • It's about tension between a mother and her son. The best part is though that it doesn't just make the mother and son tense--it makes the AUDIENCE even MORE tense. That is, in my opinion, a very rare feat for a film to do.

  • i feel totally at ease and relaxed during this scene

  • fuck me that thing she does with her head at the end is disturbing

  • when she pulled the gun out i was like HOLY SHIT!!!

  • who ever made this video has problem ! lol

i have to admit the part where the mom gets a gun and puts it in his head and tells him to smile or she will shoot is pretty funny but the rest is hella weird lol !

  • wow look at her ass THATS TERIBLE!!!

  • such nice bonding moments with mother and son

  • it doesn't feel like a movie. it feel real and thats why its scary. they're not characters. they are people. and i forget that they're being told what to do. are they?

  • shes one fucking crazy lady

  • The part where she whispers "party...breakdance" at 3:22 is pure gold.

  • hahahahah. ive never realized that before. awesome.

  • good lookin out! hilarious!

  • @hardtechnoboy hahahahahaha ohgosh

  • you came out of my womb and I'll stick you right back in my womb

  • that womb comment she makes is especially creepy

  • the first time i saw this i was like "what in the hell is he gonna do with those utensils" and then he starts lifting them and youre like "aaaahhhhhh, ok, what a great idea"

  • if you dont give me a smile im gonna kill you!

  • White trash at its best.

  • i should have just drunk a liter of JD and would have been better for my health

  • hahahahahahahahaa why is he working out to this song???

  • What the hell is this? Randomest shit i've ever seen...I don't get it at all..

  • I cannot believe that is Peewee from The Wanderers

  • Shirley Roper-Phelps at 1:12.

  • Scratch that... Denis Leary at 3:27.

  • seen it many times before n still dont know how to describe it...funny, disturbing, dark humor..i dont know...korine ITS FUCKED UP!

  • This is the kind of movie you just can't stop watching

  • I wish I was blessed with the gift of tap...

  • wow the first normal yanks. bunch of dumb fucks

  • Lord777666 - lime sucking teabag.

  • im gonna cry

  • Is that a shit stain on the mom's pants? Look carefully...

  • maybe she's having her period...?
