The oldest books in the world as per the reckoning/dawn of civilizations is no doubt the Vedas. However they appear to have been evolved over a long period and until the script was developed. Initially it was just 'shruti' as were they composed. Ultimately they took the form of written books. They are older than any other scripture. It is said to be older than paper and written language itself. It is still learned through memory today. only few copies on paper exist.
As I said you have no source, no universale message, yours is an amalgamation of stories. It is not enough to say that "you believe" Vedas is the oldest form of religion when there is no way to prove this. As you have observed Hinduism adopts and "evolves", it was nnot even a cohesive religion until the British called it. It is folk lores put together into one big book, they are NOT revelations i.e. revealed but created by men.

My grandparents had few acres of Land in the outskirts of a city in India it is their ancestoral property. The oldest books in the world as per the reckoning/dawn of civilizations is no doubt the Vedas. However they appear to have been evolved over a long period and until the script was developed. Initially it was just 'shruti' as were they composed. Ultimately they took the form of written books. They are older than any other scripture. It is said to be older than paper and written language itself. It is still learned through memory today. only few copies on paper exist.

Offcourse I am NOT against Hindus, just trying to point some facts out to you. Yes I oppose Hindu Extremists, fuelled by Nationalist, fuelled by people like Modi, Hinduveta, BJP, and carried out by their millitant wing RSS. Regarding Hinduism Terror, well NO religion preaches Terror now does it. Xtianity and Islam preach equality, Judaism preaches sperioirty of the Jew and Hindus also have a superiority and inferiority complex which exploited through Nationalism can lead to fascism.

But lets look at your "concept" why you dont eat animals becuase you consider animals as your brothers or gods and fundamentally you are told NOT to eat LIVING ORGANISMS - so why do you eat plants? do you not consider them to be living organisms. Not only that, but if you have been reading other parts of this article, you will have seen other scriptural excerpts in which Hindu Gods themselves set an example of eating beef (for instance, Lord Indra in Rig-Veda Samhita & Lord Rama in Ayodhyakanda).

Certain Hindus do eat meat, only the warriors. Warriors are allowed to eat certain meats for sustenance of the body. Lord Ram did not eat Beef you fool, Kshatriyas ate deer and fowl etc. But never Pork, Beef or any other type of meat. Only Chicken, Deer, & Fish.

One more thing.... I'm 6'4 built and do not eat meat. My grandfather was 6'8 and my great grandfather was 7'4 they were all vegetarian. Perhaps you can eat meat. but if it is unnecessary then why? Is it that you cannot control urges of hunger or temptations? Like an obese person may not have the will power to give up certain foods such as steak and fried chicken... Hinduism teaches conditioning of the mind soul and body. We are also called the Gossais, controllers of our senses.

"If a man has (unawares) eaten meat of a five-toed animal, with the exception of the hare, the porcupine, the iguana, the rhinoceros, and the tortoise, he must fast for seven days." -- Visnusmrti 51:6.
Who knows, in addition to eating standard meats, perhaps both Rama & Sita also ate lizards, turtles, hedgehogs & porcupines.

I have brought up interfaith. I practice Hinduism (Arya samaj sect) and Christianity (Protestantism). So, I know. You can never be a true learner if you're one - sided. Case closed!
