no, he's not... this is piece is a great composition... Toccata (Joc Dobrogean) by Paul Constantinescu... It used to be a compulsory piece at the George Enescu International Piano Competition, a very prestigious competition in Bucharest, Romania... former winners include Elisabeth Leonskaya.

Instead of saying "greatest piano player in the world" try listening to great pianists first. He is on par with 1st year music students. No control or color. More annoying than entertaining. Boring. Just because people criticize him doens't mean they should be better pianists to do so. You don't have to be a great pianist to know crap when you hear it. I can't sing but I know a great voice when I hear it. This guy is not good. To call him the "greatest pianist" is a joke. Miles from it.

I think a good pianist is someone who loves the piano and puts all his emotions into a piece he is playing. Technique can be very useful with this, but it doesn't say as much as emotions do about how good a pianist is. You have to play with emotion, and this man doesn't really so.

I think it's wrong to call any piano player "the best in the world". There are soo many types of piano music, perhaps you could fine the best within jazz or so.

All though if we could choose one i would say Elton John. I find it marvellous how he makes the most beautiful songs as well as the piano playing is perfect.
