Oh geez. Magaki may seem cheap to alotta people, but he's really scary any whichway you look at him. About the only thing that stops him from being unbeatable is that his melee attacks are a bit slow(except for the Blow Off).

I didn't used Kula's LDM either. I finished this fight using K's super without continues.

Good go against Magaki. Most people admit when they use this team they job the first round and do the infinite DM bonus and just spam Kula's Freeze. To be honest I did do that, but it was with Maxima's DM D:

i just got this game today, its not my first time playing a KOF game, i played 2k, and CvsSNK2. But not being able to defeat him EVEN with half health makes me wonder if im doing something wrong...

HA! I remember that bastard/bitch. The only way you could win relatively easily was to use command grabs. Of course this meant you needed to be close to him/her (ha ha ha, right, Mr./Ms. I send my dog, fireballs, slap you around if you get close, teleport... Galford and Hanzo had the advantage that their command grabs (Strike Heads and Mozu Otoshi) worked while running, and even did a bit more damage. Ah, SNK bosses...

@sheldons7 If you're talking about Igniz, try pasting EAIIC4dxZQw after the watch?v= in the URL and you'll see why Igniz is not harder than Magaki.

The closest to an AI bug in Magaki is when he's standing up and you're a certain distance, he'll sometimes do pink explosions, but unlike Igniz, he won't do that ALL THE TIME.

well dunno i for me mby its easy cuz i dont use cheap methods to defeat boss! I just fight him the same way as normal players! Thats probably why magaki seems the weakest boss to me! When he fights me he sits all round in the corner and getting combos on 1/4 1/3 of his hp!

Ah, I see. Switch your mode to Arcade instead of Arranged. Watch him not let you jump in and do "combos on 1/4 1/3 of his hp".  Sorry, it just doesn't happen in Arcade Mode on Level 8, except in Arranged when they toned him down.

Ehhmm well i always play arcade mode! And i always play highest difficulty! In all KOFs i ever played! And i do it already 9 years!

And wtf is about jumping? I dont even need to jump to make a 1/3 combo! If i hit light kick with Kyo for me its enough to make it! Ahh in other case Please give me a link where i can download good recorder and ill show! Because you probably dont believe me, and its obvious why I wouldn neither believe to a guy whos just talking!

WW3seeker i disagree Rugal from 2002 is way much easier than Magaki(both of them at expert difficulty)

That probably means you never played vs Rugal 2002 expert! Also Igniz is harder cuz he cal kill u with one combo! Aw come on magaki is weak boss relay! Give me a link where i can download a good recorder and i will show you how i pawn him like a kid!

Actually, Igniz and Rugal both have tremendous holes in their AI. Look up vids of people beating them on level 8 and you'll see.

Magaki isn't harder than them, but his AI is a lot more random and harder to predict than Igniz.

i did played King of Fighters 2002 at the maximum level of difficulty (expert 8)and i still think Rugal has weak points...however the one from 95..i think it's called Omega Rugal it's much greater than the one from 2002

those weak points are compensated with a hp amount (its about 4 or 5 times bigger) damage and recovery after he beats one character!

Hmm, Magaki is my least favorite SNK Boss. His moves are too obscure. I guess his powers stem around Dimensional Warp Holes.

nice vids, but I just would like to put a words for ppl showing off saying "i play level 8". in KOF there is not much difference between difficulty levels. And specially for magaki: i play the game on PS2 and magaki is as hard to beat on level 2 as on level 8 ! try it !

Shion I believe you have to bean in Challenge 5, and Magaki in Challenge 6. Or something like that.

I used to think Igniz (KOF 2001) is the hardest, but after beating him everytime for so many times I became bored. Magaki now takes his place as the hardest KOF boss, in my opinion.

If you read the reviews for the game that had the 5/10, you'll see they prefer 3D games with pretty graphics. They do mention the gameplay is solid,but for whatever reason they think the game's graphics are on par with Street Fighter II, which is seriously blasphemy, but they're entitled to their opinions...

I have defeated him only on the arcade and he does the same crap. I beaten him many times not all times. It depend how well i am using the characters... i don't say my character becsuse i don't play with the same ones. I mostly practice new characters when i feel i know there combos. And, yeah, this boss after all is not cheap at all...

It happens.  There are days when I can beat him without losing a single perso, without even switching... then there are the other days, when I have to repeatedly continue because he counters everything and anything I try...

He's super weak against K's combos. He's only dangerous when he takes distance, if u break his defense u only have to repeat the same combos and he dies easily...

Maybe it's because of K' like QuistisAlmasy says? I usually use K' Kyo and King for my team, but against Magaki "K' alone is enough" like he says himself ^^.

Does that mean that actually I'm pretty good if I can beat Magaki in the hardest level of difficulty?

The reason why K's combos deal a lot of damage has to do with damage scaling for bosses. Since for every hit there's a minimum amount of damage you'll do, the more hits you do, the better. A long string of attacks deals more damage than one big attack. This is why Oswald's LDM is so useful against him (and also cheesy, but let's not get into that!).

Well, doesn't it applies to a lot of characters? I post a video of me playing with k' against Magaki. The quality really really sucks, but i can assure u it's level8. To tell the truth, among all the chara., Magaki is one of the easiest to beat with K' to me (regardless of the fact that he's the final boss).

i finally beat magaki today using only K and Iori. I didn't even get a chance to bring out my team leader (Athena). K was soo useful. Anyone who can't beat Magaki, try to put K in your party next time. He is a big help ^^ Thanks for sharing this video.
