I love the contrast between the two affairs going on here. One is "taboo" and secret, enacted in the dark but obvious in it's passion and warmth. The other is hardly secret and seems almost like playacting in the way it parodies upperclass formality. There's great humor here along with the romantic imagery.

Daniel Day Lewis also turned in a stunning portrayel of the "Merry Andrew"

charecter, "Cecil Vyse" in Ivory Merchants' "A Room With A View". I've always

been awstruck by such versatility!
