@xde89- Right. I wonder, though, how much SGM Sixta in this show resembles the real guy. It's hard to imagine the SGM Sixta we see here being a coward.
@360Nomad- Yes, it must always be there. Can't have anything military without discipline, whether it's the US Marine Corps or a private military boarding school.
Guys like SGM Sixtas are rarely ever liked by the men they outrank. There's a retired Gunnery Sergeant at a boarding school I went to, and he's always bellowing about this regulation or that violation of discipline. Cadets hate him, but he's doing his job and that's all.

The Marine Corps abbrevation for Sergeant Major is SgtMaj, not SGM. That is the Army abbrevation for the rank.
