@kennygilak1 Just reflash a stock kernel, they're available on XDA. You don't even need an account to download stuff any more. As for your display, a little more information would be helpful.
Oh, I nearly forgot, thanks for your comment on my channel, f*ck you too. Ungrateful sod.
@kennygilak1 I unrooted it by updating my phone, I'd rather have the nice quality than the root options. First uncheck the 'usb unbugging' thing and then update via KIES on your computer.
Hey, great vid. I visited the xda site. The kernel link now reads... [OBSOLETE-KERNEL] fully automatic ROOT, CIFS, in..... goes on to say that its an obsolete and unmaintained kernel. What's the dealio? Is this still safe?
ALWAYS KEEP A RECORD OF YOUR STOCK CODES...If you need to use your warranty ever you will need to revert to stock,or maybe you will want to sell you device one day and don't want a warning sign on the phone.Go to your phone info page and take a screen shot by pushing home key, holding down, and immediately pressing the power button, you will hear a shutter sound and the pic will be in your gallery...peace out
.wen i connect the phone to thru USB to the computer in download mode , the USB device s not working & the connection is not happening with system....so m not able to transfer the kernel file to mobile....kindly any1 suggest
mattj101101 thank you so much for the video i'm a new SGS2 guy bought mine about 2 weeks ago. I did everything you explained and it's rooted but the only problem is that my sensitive backsapce and search buttons at the bottom don't work. i have to backspace from the home button and i don't know how to fix it. if you can please help me or even better email me and tell me what i did wrong at larrygonzalez@hotmail.com thank you in advance.
i went as far as clicking on to the PDA tab but cannot recognise the kernal file although it is in the folder i am searching, is there something which i have missed?!
When i tried rooting with SuperOneClick, it gave me a CFW, which I flashed on my device later. Now SuperOneClick tells me my device is already rooted (i got superuser and CWM on it now), is my device really rooted now?
If yes, do i need to install a Stock Kernel first before installing a ROM from Miui?
hi there. i have my new samsung s2.. i want to install different rom but i dont know how.. should i root my phone first before installing ROM or i can install ROM even im not rooting my phone. please help me sir. thanks!
...answer anywhere! XDA is next to no help other than a source for the kernels. All the guys there explain it like i already know. Your videos would be more help to me if i knew what the hell you were talking about lol. Hope you reply and can help me or it looks like ill be selling this 4 day old phone and getting me iPhone 4 back. Cheers, mate.
@mattj101101 Dude Awesome!! First I tried with SuperOneClick and the program just kept crashing, then I tried your method, and it is much easier and it worked! You made my day.. Thanks Man!
@showofdeth if u didnt understand anything he said in the video , u need to do lots and lots of more reading and dangers of rooting and installing custom kernels.. also u need to learn how to retrieve your device back in case u brick it. after uve learned all this and alot more u'll know exactly what he's saying in he video :) and if u're not upto this kinda effort, iPhone is made jus for u :)
mattj101101 you really should do a video for us spanking new to this! Explain to us like noobs. I literally am lost! For instance: when downloading a kernel for the Gs2 dies it HAVE to be the exact match of the one already on the phone? Mine is xwkf4 so does the one i get from xda need to be the same or can i download any, flash it in odin, run superoneclick to root then download my exact kernel reflash it in odin and root again??? Please help me here, mate. I can't find a definitive answer...
@cheeseman2603 Little to no chance at all. I've never had anyone brick their phone following my guide. Saying that, I hold no responsibility for the results of you following my guide and this guide comes with no warranty stated or implied. All legal responsibility lies with you, the guide is for education purposes only.
I have a problem, but I don't know with it's my laptop running (vista) or the program Odin. When ever i go into download mode Odin doesn't pick up the device (yellow symbol) but my laptop does?? If anyone can give me some advice, it would be much appreciated.
@ptmolloy Flash a stock Samsung (or your network if your phone's network branded) firmware. It'll remove root and reflash a stock kernel included with the firmware.
hey mate, I'm about to root my phone using this method, but just one thing, would you recommend this method over your three step method? and by rooting my phone this way, does my phone get slower? and is this way safe? please reply :)
@spider1292 It's quicker and just as safe, I'd recommend it personally. Your phone shouldn't get any slower, if it does reflash your stock kernel, you'll get to keep root but get any lost performance back. Oh and it's perfectly safe, all my videos were tested on my own device and all went fine, I'd never upload something potentially phone wrecking without a lot of warnings about it :)
@bambapabbi It works fine, I had enough faith to do it on my own, brand new S2 after all. It's easily reversible , just flash a stock kernel again (the right one for your firmware obviously).
how did you got those file to tar??? mine is only called file and whit another name

@showofdeth
a) Yes the kernel has to be exactly the right one, or your phone won't boot
b) Videos that are to simple take wayyy to long to explain everything, it's just not practical
c) If you're that new to Android I wouldn't suggest you start trying to hack it, read lots, do little, first.
d) Yes, the iPhone is simpler than Android, it's why I can't stand it, it's like being treated like an idiot.
e) If this doesn't answer all your questions, feel free to ask more :)
Hope that helps,
Matt
