MGMT definitely isn't a studio band. True that their stage presence isn't that great but everybody in that band sings. Their vocal harmonies are incredible.

I haven't seen them live yet. I have to pay attention to the next time they're in Chicago. Metric is by far the best indie band out there right now IMHO. Emily to me is like some (hot) mix of Deborah Harry & Curt Cobain. She can be a pop star when she wants, and she can rock out or cause you to re-evaluate your life the next. If these guys ever sold out and worked with a top producer they'd be filling arenas world wide.

Well for the last two albums, Metric has been working with producer/mixer/engineer John O'Mahoney who recently mixed Coldplay's Viva la Vida. This year, Coldplay was Grammy nominated and winners--also selling out arenas world wide. Guess we'll see, eh..
