  • Everybody loves a balloon! As a balloon pilot, my favorite saying, when kids were scared of the burner noise on the ground, is, "No need to be afraid; it's just big and loud...kinda like some of my crew." LOL!!

The FIRST rule of ballooning, I learned in training, is, "Know where the cameras are!"

  • Cool video! I also have one from my first experience with balloon ride. We hit a roof! haha... now I can laugh back then I was scared by death!!

  • Nicely done video - and what a perfect day for a flight. I've been flying balloons for 18 years and still just love it when somebody finds out what a wonderful thing it is to fly in a balloon! Great location too -- might just have to head east to New Jersey some day....

  • so neat but im afraid of hights lol

  • very boring...

  • Ballooning is awsome been doing it for 23 years and still feel like i did the first time

  • How wonderful! I'm not sure I'd have the nerve to do it a second time, but I'm so happy I got to do it once in my life. Thanks so much for watching!

  • Awesome video. The reflection shot was really neat. I think when it comes to ballooning, because I have been on two balloon flights, that my favorite part is when you're really low over the treetops. Even every part of the flight is awesome. There is no shaking, no turbulence or anything scary like what else you would experience in planes or helicopters (not that I'am afraid of them, but the balloon rides are the best).

  • Many thanks for the compliments! We thought the reflection shot was a gas, too. You're right about the stillness and smooth ride in a balloon. It was very peaceful and fun, although most of us are not cool with heights. But we wouldn't have traded this experience for anything.

  • hey, so can you control how high you go in the balloon? and is it stable or shaky?

I really dislike turbulence, I don't like when we suddenly fall down.

  • You definitely can control how high up you go by how much hot air you blast into the balloon. You can also release the hot air and lower the balloon. The secret is to go up or down and find where the wind currents are that will carry you to where you want to go -- otherwise you just stay up in the air and that's it. Thanks for watching!

  • thats awesome i live in clinton and saw my house haha

  • One stupid question for you. Can you actually choose where the baloon flies or do you have to go with the wind? :D

  • It's not a stupid question at all! We had the same doubt about what happens up in the air. The wind determines where you go, but the wind is at different speeds and directions depending on how high up you are; the pilot goes higher to catch certain air currents if a lower level is still. They know the general direction the winds are blowing all the time from weather reports and past flights, too, so the ground crew is fairly well prepared as to general areas to pick up.

  • Thanks for all the answers! The choice of direction sounds complex. Not intuitive like on an plane for example, but I would still prefer it 10 times to a plane unless, of course, the goal was go get as fast as possible. No deafening engine vibrations, no tiny circular windows with 0 visibility, perfect. But those zeppelins... I imagine them like sky cruise ships heheh. That's a cruise I would pay for :) Thanks!

  • You're welcome, and have a great New Year!

  • Have a great New Year yourself! :)

  • You know what we should have? Zeppelins again, like the ones around 1940, but not with those inflammable gases. That would be nice.

  • We actually talked about that on the flight! It's a great idea. No pollution, quiet, and perfect for shorter journeys between nearby cities and town.

  • Now that must be a very nice experience :)

  • Thanks for watching! It was a wonderful time, but we went much higher than we ever expected to go!

  • Sweet. Did you launch out of Sky Manor or that restaurant on 173?

  • Thanks for watching, James! We launched out from the grounds behind the Hunterdon County Playhouse and the big pond they have out back, just off I-78.

  • Ah, I see. I've taken some air-to-air photos with the balloons that launch out of Sky Manor and I thought it may have been you guys. :)

  • Very cool? How was the view?

  • The ride was a bit scary, but fun at the same time. The views were amazing and the weather was warm with no wind. Because there were no clouds, we could see for several hundred miles in all directions! We were lucky that we had a very gentle, quiet ride (except for the occasional blasts from the burner to keep hot air in the balloon).

  • beautifull,thanx for sharing!,annie xxx

  • And thanks for watching! We had great fun that day. xxooJay
