this is from the second dub version...Where Kaneda is voiced by the same guy that did Vash the Stampede...I still can't watch this version and not see Vash whenever Kaneda has a line...But I still love the song played during the battle...
This looks like the 2nd english dubbed version, said to be more accurate to the original Japanese. But I like the original dubbed because of the better voice actors they used.
I'll take the original dub anyday. I had it on VHS, but when I bought the DVD the voice acting was different. I heard there was a version with both versions of the dub but don't know if its true or not.
The voice acting, if not the accuracy, was far superior on the original dub IMO.
@gek2 I know what you mean. I was jacked when I found this Akaira DVD in a bargin bin, having long since wore out my VHS copy. I ran stop lights on my way home, only to find it was a different dub version, which is good enough, just not the same Akira I come to love.
Without too man spoilers, there is a part where he kills on of teh gang members, but I can't for the life of me remember how. I'll have to find 3 hours to sit through this movie again sometime. :)
@Katana991 yes, there is the scene when tetsuo blows up one of the clown's head with metal pipe, but that is in the scene when tetsuo stole kaneda's bike.
@Katana991 if ur talking by phsychic power thats only in the manga (which has the superior story in my opinion) but he does breack a guys face in witha a pipe
