BRASIL. EU OUÇO ISTO DESDE CRIANÇA. CONCORDO COM ALGUNS COMENTÁRIOS QUE A INFLUENCIA DO ELP ETC MAS QUEM GOSTA DE EMERSON LAKE & PALMER E TRIUNVIRAT SABE QUE SÃO AMBOS EXCELENTES. QUANTO AO YES É CLARO CONCORDO TBEM. NO ENTANTO
Even though Triumvirat had an excesive influence from ELP, they sound very good with excellents musicians, especially the keyboardist and its music is very well composed contrary to what we hear in music currently.
@skip901 ..good point.but i think this was done b4,,but the elp,,commments have merit,,,kansas double live,,paid a fortune for that album,,an cd's we're coming out soon,,boston,,dire straights.bruce sprinstein,,i used to know the first 4 cd'ds, crappes,,cranial cramp...anyway..it all brings me back to supertramp..crime of the century

@TheMawkperron a cold old worried lady,,has merit as a classic,i'me a guitar player ,but appreciate good piano..melody n verse, without guitar once n while,,,n listen to the last verse..he played again lol
I'm not trying to be malicious. I acknowledge the music is good. I love prog rock. But, it's a classic rip off of ELP. Just as Starcastle was an obvious rip off of my favorite prog rock band YES who I saw live (5) times. I saw ELP live in St. Louis back in the late 70's. "Pictures at an Exhibition" is among my all time favorites. I guess imitation is the highest form of flattery or maybe I'm just a snob but I can't help but be a little put off. Just a little. Did I mention it IS good music?
Good music..yes! Seems I've heard this before or something like it. Oh yeah, I think there was a British Prog rock band that sounded something like these guys Emerson, Lake and something-or-other.
Wow thats harsh.....I admit I can't get enough of these buzzy fizzy synth sounds so I'm still a fan. But they are definitely ELP "lite" me and my friends got some good laffs from Triumvirate's "Pompeii" LP
This was the second album I ever bought in my life! I was in HS living in Holland and the time and would listen to this album and mostly this song endlessly for hours! Of course I was stoned out of my mind throughout! Thanks for sharing the memories!
I had this album too and I grew up in Baltimore, MD USA. Funny thing, some years later I had a German guy working for me who came from Cologne and knew these guys, It was his job to put the mouse in the egg shell and photograph it! It took him HOURS and they gave him credit on the record and let him do some kind of Lyric!
Wow thanx, whadda treat, I ain't heard this stuff since I got an *8-track* (!) copy back in '75...a couple yrz later I was listening to punk & prog at the same time, ha...alwayz liked the Illusionz stuff
can anyone post the illusions album? The entire album, because it comes in sections, from the start of school days to the end.Illusions was thier greatest album,i love them all,but i can't find the cd any where.
I had purchased tickets to see Triumvirat, Slade, and Peter Frampton in Philly, around '76...concert was cancelled due to the Slade singer being ill! grrrr!! Like when I had tickets to see ELP, Deep Purple and Dream Theater in about 2000; it, too, was cancelled due to the singer in Deep Purple being sick! Double grrrr!! Anyway, Triumvirat was a great band.
I once saw a keyboard based prog tri on The Old Grey Whistle Test. I was immediately impressed and immediately forgot their name. Could this be them. Were they on the programme?
Lol, this song itself is a pale copy of ELP's Tarkus segments in the 5/4 part.... but for copy, you know... it is still amazing to hear what the human kind could make out of 12 notes...
There's live audio out there...in the hands of some radio stations or djs of that time..don't know about anything official...but video is still a mystery
What a fantastic band!!! They were around about the time Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, and ELO were here in the 70's. Saw them in St. Louis. What a show! Thank you for remembering them.
I wonder why people in St. Louis seem to have a greater depth of knowledge about classic rock and the less commercial bands of the 70's in comparison to people in other cities. Could it have been because of KSHE95 and the sunday classic rock show?????
You had better bet it is! Not to mention that with all of the great venues in STL and KSHE, many great acts came here due to the huge following thanks to KSHE. The midwest was a great location for new music in the
60's and 70's. You can find many of the former KSHE DJ's now on KHITS, 96.3 in STL. They stream live on the computer. Complete with Rich Dalton. From KSHE Sunday morning classic show. I still have hundreds of my ticket stubs from shows in STL presented by KSHE.
I remember Ruth, the kshe 65 year old dj. She was awesome. Wasn't Joe Mama Mason and JC Corcoran on KSHE? They were great. Especially their "helium blues news". Also, check out the band "Starcastle" from Illinois, timeless 70s music (sound like ealy Yes.) I left STL 9 years ago, but recall 96.3 was a softer music format. Perhaps my memory fails me. I'll check out the web. Mooregl, thanks for the post. Be well!
PLANX - Excellent post. Post the entire illusions of a double dimple album. Excellent stuff. To colin5765 - you didn't miss the 70's, you just missed some great music.

Funny how so many prog lps sound so dated - with their cheesy instrumentation or "stones of years" head-scratching lyrics.
But this band holds up great. Still listen to them.

I saw them on the tour for this album. They played the Shire Auditorium in Los Angeles, opening for Fleetwood Mac and Jefferson Starship.
I had tickets to the Spartacus tour, but they had to cancel it because the bassist had been drafted by the German army.

Ha, funny thing is these guys were accused of ripping off ELP.
What goes around comes around I guess!
imperialpod 3 years ago
Lol not like they were ripping off them in a bad way.
IMHO they cloned ELP and made it better.
theantkid12 2 years ago
I don't know about better, more of a homage to the prog of ELP.
Fritz is a VERY accomplished musician in his own right and certainly did no harm to the prog movement!
imperialpod 2 years ago
ELP was definitely a major influence to them. Fritz is a prog god.
