@28Zeppelin Yes you are correct. I was thinking Brandon T Jackson. The brother that was in the lottery ticket with Bow Wow. Since Hollywood is into making remakes. I was thinking why not the Golden Child.

@1BigChris7 "I'm gonna paddle your ass when I find you. I'll use this row. I'm gonna row your ass!" XD Some of the best lines in the boat scene, definitely.
Je me souviens avoir pissé de rire quand j'étais enfant dans la scène où il débarque à Katmandou pis le vieux sage tibétain s'incarne en vendeur itinérant et qu'il fait une vente avec Eddy Murphy qui se passe mal.
I've seen this movie before. I love the 80's. Man, I should've come up with a username when I first signed up on Youtube like "Queenofthe80s" 80's my birth year. ;)
Look at the movies that come out now. Hot tub time machine used the 80's they traveled back in time. The music was great and they used it for the movie!
@thegolddon Absolutely right. It was use as the opening theme for Cinemattractions. I used to remember watching that on the early hours of Saturday morning.
R4P, You have Robbie Buchanan listed as having written this, but wasn't it Michel Colombier who wrote this piece of music ? Can you check ? If I'm wrong, I'll hold my hands up and admit I'm wrong.
The piece was composed by Michel Colombier. Performed by a who's who of session musicians with Buchanan being principal keyboardist on the score, not just on this track (check out "Golden Love" and then tell me where the keys end and the strings begin). Not sure why he got "performance" credit on this one, probably a tip of the hat. They collaborated a lot over the years.
La-La Land just released the score on CD.
European channel FilmNet used this theme daily c:a 1987 - 1991.
Man I love this beat. I have a Beat Machine where when I listen to the sample, I hear a little resemblance to this there her, but it ain't nothing like the ORIGINAL ONE!!
Sorry, I meant to say that DX7 and MIDI had been around since 1983- digital synths like the GDS (used on the movie TRON) had existed before that, and you also had hybrids like the PPG.
Digital synths (like the Yamaha DX7) had been around since 1983, as had MIDI. Madonna's TRUE BLUE album was also released in 1986, as was the Top Gun soundtrack, and those records had digital synths all over them. The synth guitar on this sounds exactly like a DX7 preset, as does some of the brass. only the fat bassline sounds analogue, most probably a MiniMoog.
