  • niceaaaaaaaa

  • playing the guitar is SO easy. why cant i do it?

  • @UltiMogr because it's NOT so easy.

  • nice lesson ! thank you

  • I know it sounds wierd...but there is something about black folks playing a guitar that makes me smile.

  • can anyone help me with how to solo in drop tunings like this? someone please reply!

  • CGCFAD is what i use alot, for classical music of all things LOL and heavy shit also

  • @Ryanmetalmatthew Sabbath were famous for C# standard, not C standard. But I guess that was just a typo

  • drop C is my favorite drop tuning, has the most balls in my opinion

  • @KarumaUchiko i agree. Drop C forever

  • @DimebagDarrellCFH33 hellz yeah

  • @KarumaUchiko HELL MOTHERFUCKING YEAAAAHHHHHH

  • @DimebagDarrellCFH33 Agreed brother in metal

  • @KarumaUchiko Agreed brother in metal

  • just a word, not all Black people steal cars and shit like that, there are thieves in all races......give the man his due respect, he is teaching people don't care the color of his skin..let all that stuff go, it rots your brain

  • who says brothers can't play metal.....props dude, enjoyed the lesson...

  • does anybody know how low you can tune a guitar without sounding horrible?

  • This Guy is cool trying to help people and there are haters on here keep it to yourself you backwards fucks and let people enjoy.

  • Drop B to Drop A# has alot of versatility. plenty heavy, yet has the ability to be extremely melodic.

  • drop c owns over all

  • Someone seriously needs to start a guitar church, in which everyone wears headphones, and can sync their guitars with others, and just have a massive jam sessions everyday, lessons, and support for the fellow guitarist. I really hope i dont have to die to see this happen.

  • @thebig00JEW Wow, you really show people the degragated state of humanity, get some fucking maturity. Its not black people who are on the lower rungs of society, its the pieces of shit like you.

  • @Millipedecult 0/10 and a guitar church? are you a a troll or just incredibly stupid?

  • @thebig00JEW lol, do you know the meaning of the word nigger? Its an ignorant person, which you are, as well as an asshole that defends himself on being so. Do everyone a favor, either mature and join the majority of society, or remain in your downgraded intellect, in your downgraded trailer, fucking your crack head wife, but just keep your fucking mouth shut, because all that comes from it is NIGGER TALK.

  • i think its awsome that a black dude plays metal;) stay true and stay metal

  • I had no clue black people actually like rock and roll and metal awesome btw and thx

  • Lol at the people who get angry at metal ,,, do you think we give a .... i mean come on , and for all you metal lovers like myself keep rocking! some people just cant handle metal am i right

  • @MrBADE93 Yes sir you are right! Either all metal or nothing at all! lol (but I respect the classics)

  • @SoadAddict91 Good man!

  • where's his bass?

  • I don't like this type of black people *being racist*

  • fuck why is it always metal if you drop tune something? why the fuck does metal have to be the only style to play if you own a guitar? goddamn.

  • heavy?? ....easy! cool man - more of this

  • I don't see the point in dropping to drop G or A. That's going into bass tuning, Drop D and C are low enough to get shit done, and you don't even need to drop at all. If you actually have talent standard E can sound evil as fuck.

  • @24Juggalo I play a 7 string in drop G..I play in that tuning because I get the gritty, burpy kind of sound that i find pleasing to my ear. If it doesnt sound good to YOUR ear, thats perfectly fine, but you have to keep in mind that different players strive for different sounds. To me, I think drop C sounds to sterile and lifeless, but If someone else likes that tuning, hey, enjoy...I prefer B, C, A,and G...if played right

  • thats a cool lick ma thanks for the tips man im gonna go jam somethign heavy! \m/

  • drop C rules\m/ it's not the lowest but it's low enough to get heavy and simple with it.

  • @angel2hell thats where i live

  • Вот скажи, негр,

  • Вот скажи, негр, зачем ты снялся в этом ролике, а?! Ты же черный как уголь)))))))))))))))))))))))))

  • what kind of guitar is that

  • @alexgoettge P.R.S I think

  • @alexgoettge At 0:29 the video says what it is. But in more detail it's a Paul Reed Smith (PRS), CE24. The 24 fret model had a wide/thin neck profile. The rear knob that looks like a tone knob is actually a 5 position switch that moves through the various pickup positions.

  • @richardlpalmer thanks i feel dumb i must have zoned out or sumthing

  • @alexgoettge Meh, it happens. :)

  • that riff suxs!

  • You are my favourite teacher from the next level..... :)

  • It's a cool lesson but I hate those stange titles of all the Nextlevelguitar video's :p

  • nice vid, thanks for sharin

  • Keep it metal and wavy like gravy. I love this guy. Guitar is absolutely beautiful.

  • you guys sound awesome

  • dropped D is so fun

  • @LemonLimeLaughter yes, but drop G or F is more fun

  • @LemonLimeLaughter Drop A is even funner : D

  • @LemonLimeLaughter F yeah I agree but drop C# for Hardcore !!!

  • k just making sure.

  • Thats playing a power chord without having to fret a note.

  • Look into some of the older ESP's and Kramers for the heavy stuff. Schecter throws some good stuff out also. I am a true believer in cheaper the better, I have a Univox Gimme and a Peavey Reactor.

  • help me on this one please,

I'm getting a guitar, and i'm willing to spend a maximum of 2500-3000 euro's on this (lats say it's 3250 dollars), would you say like: no dude, don't go out and buy a les paul or fender strat/ tele or whatever, there are way cheaper guitars and they are as good as the big names,

or are names like gibson/fender/... really the best?

please help, this is an issue i could save a lot of cash with

    ty ..

  • @qotsa007

it all depends on the style you are going to play. It's also really important trying guitars. feel free to send me private messages for questions

  • well fender is not very expensive. you can get a great fender for about 1500$

  • if you are looking in that pricerange you should definately try out some of Paul Reed Smith guitars. (Actually what he is playing in this video)

Very comfortable and sounds amazing for every style of music

  • Ok, thanks for replying ..

  • @qotsa007 If you're asking this you shouldn't be spending that much on a guitar yet.

  • i know, that's probable what i would say if someone would ask such questions about saxophone (i play that thing a long time by now) but i'm definitly going to try out a lot of guitars before i buy them, and search a lot of info, and i'm gonna buy a decent guitar in a fewm onths, so i guess that's time enough to learn enough about good n bad guitars ..

  • If you're just starting out,and young, unless you're really loaded cashwise,I'd recommend shopping around for a nice USED guitar. You can probably get a high end axe for about half what you'd pay to "drive it off the lot." A really cheap one is harder to play and might discourage you,but spending top dollar for your first guitar isn't necessary or even smart.

  • I had some bad experiences with used instruments so i don't think i'm going to do that.

and this isn't my first guitar, and i didn't just started playing,

i had 2 guitars by now, 1 really bad one (50 bucks) and another i got from brother, but he wants that one back ...

    thanks for replying ..

  • @qotsa007

But you should focus on what you want to play with that new guitar.

For example, there is always people that tells, Oh I bought this new guitar and does from blues to the heaviest metal

There is nothing like that, so focus on what you want to play with it, if your influences are bluesy, then a Fender kinda thing is good to go.

  • Awesome! Hail Sabbath!

  • Nice PRS bro!!!

  • buenos videos pero no podrian poner musica en español como a Los Heroes del silencio o a mago de oz

    porfa

  • that prs is awesome

  • His voice is just like Will Smith

  • hehehe yeah i said that to myseld as well :P

  • Man, these are good videos. Whatever. Thanks for helping out and giving back. I've only been playing over 2 years, so I appreciate it.

  • while it's probably not helpful at all to a more skilled guitarist, I'd say this is helpful for beginners still. while it's basic, you can build some real bad ass riffs off of this and it's good practice either way.

  • This is for begginers and intermediate players guys take it easy, If you check out next leval guitar they're all about teaching you how to play. If you all are so opinionated about it than post some vids

  • yo uguys know this is for beginners right? only half the stuff is make for intermediate

  • @HurtnAcurtain782 oh, that's a useful hint : > congratulations : >

  • i agree.

  • hah

  • really meaty tone,,, good stuff mang!

  • love will billy's vids...always cheers me up!

  • whuts the effect

  • Sounds like maybe a phazer or somthing like that.

  • Nice riff. There's no better better way to get into heavy stoner blues territory than to rock a little drop dizzle.

  • "Keep it wavey like Gravey!" great lesson!

  • why the guitar sounds like its fading in and out?

  • same question for me lol

  • I think its compressor or something

  • his fixed view into the camera is epic! Nice video though

  • will smith!

  • Nice licks, great tips, do you wear that hat in bed?

  • nice guitar will-billy,,, good licks tu. i like your style. ima' try'n pick some up with the lessons. keep up the good work.

  • When he says "Down" does he mean SOAD?

  • nope he means the band called Down

  • NO, he means "Down"

  • What kind of amp are you using, Will BIllaaaay? That's a tight groove.

  • Great to see someone giving Down and Crowbar a shout out! I'm huge fans of both. Excellent lesson, really a fun riff to jam on!

  • really poor lesson...you talk about simple grooves...don't misunderstand....simple is one thing...shitty is another :D

  • what type of strings do u use and how think are they?

  • You aren't very good.

  • Awesome vid!

Btw, where are all of the ass hat haters from the last post by Will Billy?

  • these guys help me so much thank you iam only 14 and you guys have given me so much advice and help

  • Awesome stuff, dude. I'd like to see more Sabbath-influenced lessons personally, they're my favorite band.

  • Fuckin A! gewd lesson! perfect for warm ups. nice job!

  • I'd like to know what you're playing through .. amp & pedal(s) that is...

    Cheers.

  • 5:01 SPANK IT !

  • I used to be so scared to tune different than eadgbe. Now I keep one of my gits always tuned to drop d. never know when I might want to take off on some Kenny Wayne, or Soundgarden, or AIC.

Great videos once again. Thanks so much for keeping us hooked guys.

  • @thesixtiesguy

I wish i could go back to standard 440. I play in D standard (whole step down) about 90% of the time, I don't know if I'll ever be able to go back, to be honest i really miss the razor sharp qualities of 440 distorted.

  • Stop acting like its impossible for you to just tune the fucking guitar.

  • awsome stuff dude

  • thats cool how these guys upload lessons on youtube for free. like there probably not getting anything out of this there doing it out of the kindness of there heart unless youtube gives them a little something for the ads on the video

  • Musicians Are Nice People :) We keep the peace lol

  • sweet play

  • This is one of your better lessons,,,i can get something from your demo. thanks

  • good riff

  • Drop D like Tool

  • strait up drop A!

  • Happy New Year Will. By the way Hendrix tunes in D as well, a little gem for you guys.

  • @tmobil8 You're wrong. Hendrix tuned a half step below standard (Eb). He did not tune to D or Drop D. Learn your facts.

  • Oh im sorry , but when i do it sounds just like hendrix , my ear could be muted lol, i stated what i felt Hendrix tunes in not what the facts stated . Deal with it

  • @tmobil8 Then you have very limited knowledge and ears that can't hear very well. None of Hendrix tunes sound like they're in drop D.

  • LOL

I was hearing a fret noise in the video, then i realized(remembered) that it was because of the drop d tuning, i forgot the string keeps loose, specially with .009 strings

    LMAO

nice video, i love this man, he's funny and plays guitar a lot

  • Drop D is the lowest you truly need I found has the best variety. Pretty sweet riff cool mix of classic metal with new ideas I LIKEY!

  • i preferably dont use drop d i love drop a

  • go Drop A flat man...it's dope shit!

  • whats them string notes?

  • high to low : Bb Gb Db Ab Eb Ab

I don't know if you know the band Staind, but they use this tuning almost on every album..

  • he has a baritone guitar

  • that's not a baritone guitar

  • no the guitarist from staind

    he uses a baritone

  • @sakowihe75 the guitarists from Meshuggah use 8-stringed baritones :P

  • well comparing staind to meshuggah is like comparing a flea to satan

  • lmao seriously

  • Or like comparing dog shit to bird shit.

  • @ROCKARING

Thats not the tuning they use :P

They use the same tuning as a ton of deathmetal bands.

    Standard Bb tuning.

Basically, a 7-string guitar each string tuned down a half step.

But they dont use 7-string guitars, so they go---

Bb Eb Ab Db F Bb

  • @ipkedupker

lol, dude, I have their Dysfunction CD tab book and more than a half are in drop Ab (A Flat) tuning.

Their guitarist uses a baritone, a 6 string leaving out the highest string, trust me:P

  • Jesus christ..Playing a PRS, and don't know how to set the fucking eq...Put some more mids in there.

  • Agreed. Fuck whoever thumbs downed you.

  • nice i love down

  • thats the true power of drop D right there!

  • that PRS is a beauty to behold <3

  • This riff sounds like on of Down's songs, doesn't it?

  • it says in the title/vid that its inspired by them and sabbath

  • @omifighter Maybe a little bit of Mourn there.. and well it sounds like down songs in general :D Awsome shit!

I have been Down fan since Nola and i was pretty suprised that this dude digs em also. Weed on brothers!

  • no mention of tool?

  • right on. all they play is drop d

  • That's an amazing sound!!! My 30X Cube won't even get close to that! XD

  • @PlayingGuitarRules I agree 100%.

  • of course on the drop d it gives go rifts but, like 2fists says its what you put in to it also, effort and style but then there's distortion pedals, amp tweaks and other configs to produce the tune that's right for you, remember when slash plays he will have thousands of dollars worth of equipment just to achieve that tone hes looking for

  • Will Billy 2 why don't you tune the high E string to D as well as the low one?

  • Cause you wont be able to use your standard licks for the high strings. This Way you still fave 5 String which match your standard patterns and scales.

  • Actually what I described is called open D tuning. I guess Drop D tuning is for making different sounds. I didn't hear any scales.

  • Open D tuning is when the guitar is tuned to a D major chord. From low to high that's D, A, D, F#, A, D.

Drop d is for shit guitarists to write heavy riffs in cause they cant play in standard.

  • So no good music can be written in drop D? Sure, a lot of kids do it because it sounds "heavy" but a shitload of great bands make killer songs in drop D.

  • Clearly joking.

  • LOL...

  • woooaaaah! someone forgot their prozac hahaha.
