I remember before the dam was built in 1953 and natives lived there. There were king salmon in the creek and shrubs that are no longer found there.
Some German exchange high schoolers got all us locals to go the the top of the spillway one Summer and roll a giant log down it where it sat in the swimming hole for years. Even my dad & mom swam the ink well as kids.
My grandfather and uncle made a living cutting floral products in those ridges.

Did you see any wildlife on the trail? It looks like a great area. I just started mountain biking this last year. But in So. Cal the hills are hot and filled with rattlesnakes right now.

Thanks for the video I used to ride that San Geronimo ridge road every week on
my dirt bike back in the early 70s I sure you know if you continue it comes out at
the Kent lake spillway road You can take that over to Drakes highway cross over
the bridge and ride the Bolinasridge trail all away to Bolinas You could also
cross over Paper Mill creek and ride the park service road that runs behind
the ink well and take it to Mt Barnaby then on to Fairfax coming out at the
711 market .

What a Treat to see my home of so many years ago. I haven't been there in a while either, but spent my 1st forty years in Lagunitas....,
we watched Kent lake be built and as teens got logs and floated across.
I hiked all the hills, everywhere!
thanks for the ride!

@circleblueguy I grew up in Lagunitas in the 60s 70 s when was the Kent lake dam built
I remember as a kid swimming at the spillway and the ink well. Those were the days
we were the luckiest generation had it all.
