Remove the word black from his speech and replace it with muslim and Powell would be regarded today as a seer.

Yes, Powell was racist in the sense that he wrongly stereotyped and judged people by their ethnic origin and his message was clumsily delivered because of this.
He should have listened to Martin Luther King's words first. Judge a man by the content of his character and not by the colour of his skin.
BUT his message that the careless growth of multiculturalism will lead to bloodshed is spot on. We need a united identity.
