  • hello jetis nice cnc youve made there, what size stepper have you put on it?thanks

  • Jetij-kur iegādājies tos alumīnija klučus, ja nav noslēpums?

  • For everyone thinking that this kind of machines are able to cut metal...Well forget it:)Unsuported shafts, to light frame, low weight and 1KW spindel are not able to cut any steel believe me. I have very similar router in my basement but even with LINEAR RAILS I'm mostly cutting wood, plexi and thin aluminium plates (2KW spindle). That kind of machines with such big working areas are not designed to cut steel and you must know it before starting to build your own one:)

  • I just figured it wouldn't do metal because the X axis is a pair of relatively small unsupported shafts. Lots of deflection. That's why I ended up going linear rails when I built mine.

  • Yes, this is a selfmade machine.

  • Do you make this beast?, Amazing!!!

  • Xorfive - this particular machine can cut metal.

Guy who made this CNC, makes aluminium and copper w/c heads and other stuff with it.

  • Yeah.. I'm with JTMarlin8.. It's a nice machine, but likely unable to cut metal.

  • Routers are for wood

  • CNC routers are often used for cutting sheet aluminium in industry

  • why don't we ASK him what he has made with it so far???

Jetijs, what have you made with this router so far? what materials, shapes etc.

  • good cnc. Simple construction.

  • Your linear rails are unsupported. No good.
