Hey bro great vid, just wanted to say that I own guitars and a AR-15. Even though I'm somewhat new to the AR game, I love them both! I think some people have a very skewed veiw of guns,as if guns are doing the killing. Guns dont kill people! The person using the gun killed someone not the gun itself. Both guns and guitars are tools and the person using them are responsible for how they are used! What ever happened to personal responsibility!!!!!!!
#1 Gun laws do not work because the lawless do not follow them.
#2 Most Americans live in a rose colored bubble that freedom provides and because of it have become fearful of the tools of survival.
#3 The first step for enslaving a nation is disarming the people.
#4 Anyone responding with the usual "Assault Weapon" garbage please educate yourself and do some research on popular hunting rounds versus rounds fired from so called assault weapons.
@mperkins32 I'm not sure what your point is on #4. Are we talking Nato or not? The 7.62 and the .223(5.56) are both used for hunting. It just depends on what kind of hunting. The .308 is also used for hunting. Hell, the .50 bmg is ALSO used for hunting. So if you were trying to show that there is a "difference" you're really going to be dissapointed.
@valakin well my point wasn't really the round or if it's used for hunting ... its the stigma around the weapons such as the AR15 or AK47 which are among some of the most recognizable "assault weapons" ... and how the rounds they shoot are far less devastating then a round in a hunting rifle with none of the assault weapon key points.
Sad news out of Ohio today. Mass killing at a school. The suspected killer stalked from classroom to classroom dropping 'sick riffs' felling dozens in his wake before finally turning the guitar on himself.
Another tragedy involving a guitar is also being reported today. Whilst cleaning his guitar, a man from Idaho says it accidentally went off. The high velocity 'waka waka' then travelled through the wall of his shed into his neighbours house entering a 6 year olds head.
The real question is--why not own both? If you watched this video and weren't at least a little excited by one of the two tools displayed, something's seriously wrong with you. I can appreciate quality in a lot of things, but for me personally there aren't many things that top a nice guitar or a quality rifle.
In response to elo.: I have been a prosecutor for over 20 years. I have seen people stabbed, cut, beaten and shot to death--almost always by younger stronger folks. We have the 2nd Amend. in this country, because the govt. cannot be everywhere to protect everyone. It is wonderful that you saw some fair fights where no blood was spilled--that is rarely the case in savage assaults. In those, those with guns will probably survive, those with no guns usually succomb.
I don't have a gun, but that was a nice twist, and a great comparison. Really, you could make comparison on almost any piece of hobby gear, and it would be applicable. Nice.
@elouwen you have a cop every where you go and it takes his 10 seconds or less to get to you in time of need because the cops here are really fast but the problem is that even if you get here in 1 minute its always after you have been stabbed or shot. and looking at stats from your own city posted by your police there seems to be plenty of crime including assaults . so apparently some of the cops are busy eating rice cakes or are triads.
is that a handguard i could get and put on any ar or is that one that comes on one in particular... i know some compains that make ars make propriatery handguards that conect to the reciver to make a monolithic rail. is that one of these???
You are making a wrong analogy here. Guitars are not necessary for living, but guns are necessary. Choosing which type of guns to have is up to personally choice. No matter whether one feels need for an AR, AK or a Hi Point, it's his business, and he definitely can't use a guitar for that purpose with the same efficiency of guns.
the problem is conditioning... people are becoming pussies. anything remotly dangerious is now somthing we are suposed to fear instead of opening our minds and mastering the danger were conditioned to not touch, run away, or outlaw.
Great analogy. I agree that a lot of the hatred and ridicule associated with firearms is simple fear. For some reason people think if you own or carry a gun that it automatically means you are going to kill someone. Recent legislative changes here in ohio sparked discussions on that subject. "Why does anyone need to carry a gun into a nutrition store?" Was a question. Its idiotic fear. Its better to have it on me than in my car waiting to be stolen by someone with criminal intent.
It comes down to what it does. When I try and tell some people that a firearm is a useful tool or knives for that matter all they can say to me is "Thats designed to kill people... PERIOD!"
Basicaly saying finding any other uses for it are accidental uses.
First off, I like guns. That said there is a small flaw in this comparison. When the AR platform was designed, it was designed as a small arms weapon system for the US military. Its purpose was to allow a US soldier to kill his opponent. (Granted it can be used to shoot paper targets too.) A guitar is designed to make music.
A person with no training cannot pick up the guitar and play a song, but the same person could kill you with the AR.
@GunWebsites no matter how you look at it, guitars are made to make music and rifles are made to hurt people. almost all car deaths are accidental, while most of firearm deaths are intentional, both homicidal and suicidal. I really like guns, but the logic of the video doesnt really counter the objections to your spending behavior.
@FishWash If someone wants to kill their self they will, if someone wants to kill you they wiil try regardless of whether guns exist or not so why shouldn't we be able to collect guns for the shooting sports, hunting or self defence? I think the whole debate is should someone be able to force their will upon me or not.
@FishWash The firearm accident death rate is an all-time annual low, 0.2 per 100k pop, about 0.5% nationally. Whereas motor vehicles (37%), poisoning (22%), falls (17%), suffocation (5%), drowning (2.9%), fires (2.5%), medical mistakes (1.7%), environmental factors (1.3%), & pedal cycles (0.7%) nationally.
Considering the massive discrepancy betwixt vehicular deaths and firearms, shouldn't you be more focused on where the greater number of lives could be saved?
@GunWebsites Indeed. Before you know it, they will put restrictions on them for as I bet they make it, "For use as a club, a deady weapon capable of either strangling or killing the victim by impact." I have no doubts that would be worded into law.
@leicalvr A person with no training can pick up the guitar and kill you with it. It's an 8lb club that's easily dismissed, and has 6 lines of what is effectively piano wire.
A person with the intention to kill will adapt whatever tools at his or her disposal to that task. In a world where firearms are restricted and scrutinized, it is ironically the repurposed everyday tool that is most dangerous because it doesn't raise suspicion. You can't ban intent, or negligence which are the true killers.
@leicalvr guns make music too... nothing like the mellody of bang bang bang or the lovely waterfall of notes that spent shells make when they hit the ground.
This makes it easier and a man who knows what he's doing will be just fine with something cheaper . A professional can shoot you in your eyeball with an air gun . The bullet will ricochet in the inner walls of your head splitting your brains in tiny pieces . Those who ridicule expensive guns should pray to god they don't get banned and people don't improve their aim with their air guns huh .
Amen! Forget these liberals/progressives who live in the safety provided by people with guns (LEO and military), who cannot understand why the ability to arm oneself is a natural right from God and a sacred responsibility of every individual. Forget the foreigners with no concept of the right to bear arms, who cry out to the US to bail them out every time some dictator or terrorists squash them.
@633562 I don't consider it a right from God. I consider it a part of property rights which you have because you have a right to live for yourself.
Also your rights only extend to the point where you are willing to defend them. So it seems like common sense to want to arm yourself against the chance for that need.
I noticed that you got a BCM upper on that AR, I really like the options BCM gives you, I have a really nice lower picked out that I want and I'm thinking about getting a 11.5in BCM upper but, since its a class III I know that the lower is what you need to get a NFA stamp for, so do I buy the upper first ? or do I get the lower ?
I often compare guns to golf clubs. Both are pieces of sporting equipment. Both are extensions of your body. Both can be used to propel a small object to a target. Both can be used to kill in the hands of a motivated maniac. No one wants to ban golf clubs though.
a les paul studio is a less expensive version, around $800, still good though, i want the new LP studio in faded cherry, sweet jesus it looks good with the black plastic bits and the chrome hardware. i'm more of an ibanez man myself.
Yes! You can make this type of "hobby" thinking apply to cars, bicycles, cookware and anything else people get paid to use. Us hobbyist will always want the best stuff, because when you reach a certain level of proficiency at something you will need the right tools to get to the next level. While shooting is very fun for us hobbyists, the truth is that it's the one hobby that might save your life and protect those near and dear. Not to mention the political reasons to have one.
Perfect analogy, Sir!!! I live in both of those worlds and see the parallels all the time. If you think the gun forums are bad, you should see the Musical Instrument forums... :) And BTW, a guitar in the hands of an idiot can be just as dangerous! :)
So will there be a video on this rifle? It looks like the direction I'm trying to go with mine, especially the type of optic. It's a great looking rifle and I'd like to hear more about it.
I'm mainly interested the scope/sights combo, but that's almost exactly how I planned on building my rifle but changed some things due to cost. It would definitely be cool to see an review of the whole package.
No attempt was made to clear that guitar! Was the headstock pointed in a safe direction? Always be sure to not have the selector switch set to the bridge pickup unless you are ready to take a screaming lead break, And never, never, never, put your fingers on the fretboard unless you intend to hit a power chord!
And why do you even have that Gibson Les Paul Studio model in your possession? Are you in a band? Are you a session musician?
Also, in the case that you might have to resort to deadly force to defend yourself and loved ones, wouldn't you want every advantage at your disposal in terms of firepower and accuracy? An added bonus of the hobby.
Actually, i think the gun is more practical than the guitar as the gun can at least provide you with food and defense. What can the guitar do for you?
OH AGREED AND AMEN... SORRY DIDNT MEAN TO SOUND SO NEG. JUST IM IN SOFLA AND U WHIP OUT A EDC KNIFE TO FREE PEOPLE TIED UP IN A ROBBERY AND THEY WOULD SAY WHY THE HELL DO YOU HAVE A KNIFE BEFOR THEY SAID THANK YOU. JUST WISH WE COULD EDUCATE AS FAST WELL FUNDED AS OUR GOVERMENT DOES. GREAT VIDS THO BRO AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Well there is a big difference between these two ... as a musician I have to say that the les paul is ok lookin, but that AR made me lose my breath. Damn that's a good lookin gun!
The fear of firearms is completely irrational. According to the CDC in the U.S. between the ages 15-34 (all races, both sexes, all ages) you are 3X more likely to die of an accident (motorvehichle accident is #1) then an assault (of any type). After 34 your most likely to die of heart disease. So the car in your garage & the double cheese burger on your plate is far more deadly then the tricked out AR in your safe. The drive through at McDonalds is a death trap!!!
People want to destroy guns because of what SOME people use them for... would you break a guitar if you didn't like the music a person was playing with it?
nice comparison, I was looking at ar's at the store and some kid came by and said what you need that for and I just ignored him. I dont tell people they cant do something. I would like the same in return!
They aren't afraid of our guns, They are afraid of us. People who own rifles like this are generally individuals with strong self confidence, realists who understand why such a device might be needed and desire to achieve a level of understanding to use it effectively in those situations. An AR15 is defensive tool not a sporting device, it may be fun to go to competitions but that isn't why it exists, we shouldn't be ashamed that we are armed to defend ourselves from the realities of life.
This video really says a lot, true GunWebsites style! People can go out and spend thousands on car collections and have every specialty mechanics tool known to man but when a gun owner has a gun safe or gun room filled with guns he/she must constantly justify the decision to own so many guns. We know we aren't going deer hunting with a SCAR H but it doesn't matter because bottom line, its our right to own any weapon/firearm available to the civilian market.
@PandaTactics You have a good point, but why wouldn't I go hunting with my SCAR 17s(SCAR-H)? I mean, when it all comes down to the very, very basics, what makes it different from a M1A? Both are semi-automatic, .308, and magazine fed. But one of them has a super accurate hip firing pistol grip and a evil collapsible, folding stock which makes it so concealable it fits in your pocket. I'll probably never go hunting anyways since I probably couldn't kill a deer, but what makes my SCAR-H different?
My hobby is collecting historic firearms from the first half of the 20th century, I have multiple firearms from this era, they are in working order, and are quite effective. This scares some people... and that's sad. A 1941 M1 Garand, a 1942 Mosin Nagant sniper rifle like that which Vassili Zaitsev used, or a 1942 Lee Enfield No.4 should not be feared for being a firearm, but respected. It's history, they were used to defend people's country, and to defeat tyranny. Intollerance=Ignorance... :(
what suck is that the gun laws here in Canada make no sense at all, the AR is on the Restricted/Prohibited list so that we can't even get one. I want to get a bolt and a semi target rifle and a Target pistol but with our archaic gun laws I am in for the long fight to get what I want. BTW teh AR is what I want for my Semi rifle.
Why isn't that Les Paul in a hard case? And What barrel length and handgaurd lengths are those? I want to build my upper kinda like that i just need to know what lengths they are.
Americans that can but do not keep weapons to uphold the constitution are traitors. The weapons are to protect us from our own goverment not bunny rabbits.
Great vid and great comparison too! I happen to be into guitars and guns also. I say if you make the money legitimately, you can spend it however you like. Whether your hobbies are hookers or handguns, makes no difference...
THANK YOU! Finally, everyone always askes me why i spend so much money in Guitars and airsoft guns and realsteel and all the other things i like. Its simple I LOVE MY HOBBIES, they make me happy. Everyone has a diffrent hobby and dont they spend money in their hobby? Hobbys cost money and everyone (depending on how much they like the hobby) will put money into it. Its not pointless it just makes the hobby more enjoyable or gives you more to do!
Unfortunately people are prejudice in the opinions of guns. They only see the tool and never the man behind it when used negatively. While the man may be prosecuted, in the long run the firearm comes under fire for far longer of a period. This has to do alot with how people are raised and what they are lead to believe from an early age. No common sense or arguing will change there prejudice. Just look at comments that come on most GW's video's. The best we can do is teach them common sense.
To me I couldn't care less about what someone puts on their firearm. Its their firearm so they can do what they wish with it. I wouldn't want someone to ridicule me over my choices so why should I over theirs.
Funny !!! I've been known to sleep with both !!! LOL I am a huge fan of firearms and guitars. That gibby needs to be in a hard shell case though. Right on Bro !!!
The problem u have is that a lot of people are sheep. They live in this bubble world that the politicians would love us all to live in. The problem for the governments of the world is when a group of individuals decide they want to do more than have kids, go to work and cut the grass and pay taxes. I live in a lovely country called the UK, but due to the government (that being a bunch of self serving wasters of taxpayer's money) the crime goes up and freedom's go down, but crime survives.
It simple people these days condemn what they fear or don't understand, people would rather look at the bad things guns CAN be used for and not the good things they can do in the hands of the right individual.people just need to open there eyes a little wider.
had no intention of putting bad comments on any of your vids but honestly ever considered this viewpoint before, well said

So many points where to start...
#1 Gun laws do not work because the lawless do not follow them.
#2 Most Americans live in a rose colored bubble that freedom provides and because of it have become fearful of the tools of survival.
#3 The first step for enslaving a nation is disarming the people.
#4 Anyone responding with the usual "Assault Weapon" garbage please educate yourself and do some research on popular hunting rounds versus rounds fired from so called assault weapons.
mperkins32 9 months ago
@mperkins32
At #4
Or the fact that "Assault Weapons" normally have a Fully Automatic Function to the weapon.
And even if a civilian owns an "Assault Weapon", so what?
"A sword is a tool for killing, the art of swordsmanship is learning how to kill."
However, a Sword can also be a tool meant for saving people. The trick is the person who wield such tools =^_^=

@mperkins32 I'm not sure what your point is on #4. Are we talking Nato or not? The 7.62 and the .223(5.56) are both used for hunting. It just depends on what kind of hunting.

It's a great looking rifle and I'd like to hear more about it.
rothsmonster 9 months ago
@rothsmonster
We did a few vids of the accessories on it already (soon to be posted)
but we can do a review of the whole rifle too if you'd like
GunWebsites 9 months ago
@GunWebsites

PRACTICE SAFE PICKING AT ALL TIMES SIR!

EscpdFrmPsykward 9 months ago
They aren't afraid of our guns, They are afraid of us. People who own rifles like this are generally individuals with strong self confidence, realists who understand why such a device might be needed and desire to achieve a level of understanding to use it effectively in those situations. An AR15 is defensive tool not a sporting device, it may be fun to go to competitions but that isn't why it exists, we shouldn't be ashamed that we are armed to defend ourselves from the realities of life.
Prometheus203 9 months ago 17

GunWebsites 9 months ago
@Prometheus203 agreed!!!!!!!!!!
kageoftheshadow 9 months ago
@Prometheus203 The AR is a sporting device if I choose to use it in that manner. Try not to limit the use of any firearm.
ArtisanTony 9 months ago
This video really says a lot, true GunWebsites style! People can go out and spend thousands on car collections and have every specialty mechanics tool known to man but when a gun owner has a gun safe or gun room filled with guns he/she must constantly justify the decision to own so many guns. We know we aren't going deer hunting with a SCAR H but it doesn't matter because bottom line, its our right to own any weapon/firearm available to the civilian market.
PandaTactics 9 months ago
@PandaTactics You have a good point, but why wouldn't I go hunting with my SCAR 17s(SCAR-H)? I mean, when it all comes down to the very, very basics, what makes it different from a M1A? Both are semi-automatic, .308, and magazine fed. But one of them has a super accurate hip firing pistol grip and a evil collapsible, folding stock which makes it so concealable it fits in your pocket. I'll probably never go hunting anyways since I probably couldn't kill a deer, but what makes my SCAR-H different?
KalashnikovKid762 9 months ago
My hobby is collecting historic firearms from the first half of the 20th century, I have multiple firearms from this era, they are in working order, and are quite effective. This scares some people... and that's sad. A 1941 M1 Garand, a 1942 Mosin Nagant sniper rifle like that which Vassili Zaitsev used, or a 1942 Lee Enfield No.4 should not be feared for being a firearm, but respected. It's history, they were used to defend people's country, and to defeat tyranny. Intollerance=Ignorance... :(
NormanMatchem 9 months ago
what suck is that the gun laws here in Canada make no sense at all, the AR is on the Restricted/Prohibited list so that we can't even get one. I want to get a bolt and a semi target rifle and a Target pistol but with our archaic gun laws I am in for the long fight to get what I want. BTW teh AR is what I want for my Semi rifle.
