I just got a 2001 Eclipse Spyder GT. There was a problem with the sound system so i was messing with the car. i found out that the stock amp underneath the passenger seat was fried. i cant wait to get a new amp for it.

i dont plan on putting subwoofers in if the stock sound system is good enough. maybe a new deck though.

I own one myself, the stock sound system is actually pretty nice. Bass is very rich, and overall sound quality is excellent. It's good for someone who'd just like to jam to some music. Otherwise, if you're the type of person who absolutely has to have a massive subwoofer that rumbles every car at a red light, you would do good to upgrade the sound system.

Depends on where you mounted your amp. If its in the traditional place in the rear. You can unbolt the backrests for the rear seat.  I believe its just two bolts. Then you can completely lift up the backrests from the frame. Put your ground where one of the bolts goes, and simply bolt back down.

No problem. There's alot of spots to ground the car, just need to locate a bolt that's connected to the frame. The nice thing about the back seat bracket is that your ground wire won't hardly be showing if you run it there.
